Who says you can't have fine dining in the suburbs. Clarke's Restaurant is a surprise find in Lake Oswego, Or.
Being a New Yorker and not a driver I made the trek to lake Oswego by Portland mass transit. It was definitely worth the trek. Besides great food and good atmosphere, the wine list was superb. I was able to try quite a few of their vintages by ordering their wine flights.
Their signature Seafood risotto was sublime,order the appetizer portion so that you can make room for their entrees.
I would definitely make the trek back to try the rest of their offerings. When it comes to good food I will travel far and wide for it.

Inspired by local products, British-born chef Jonathan Clarke produces a Northwest seasonal menu with Italian and French accents featuring plenty of seafood and always a great steak. Clarke's has a sweet little bar featuring seasonal cocktails and wine flights and celebrates happy hour 4:30-6 Monday-Saturday, inside and outside (weather permitting). Voted "Best American" food in the Portland area by Zagat guide readers.
Clarke's has a contemporary, clean feel with several intimate areas also available for private functions. Owners Jonathan and Laurie Clarke are a hands-on husband and wife team and have operated Clarke's since 1998.
