Stayed here one night during a visit to Manchester for a wedding. Clean, spacious room, hallways show the real age of the hotel, but in the room things are fairly updated.
Bride and Groom had arranged for the shuttle to transport people to and from the event (not a quick ride) - driver was great, even going out of his way to pull over for a guest that had imbibed a bit too much that evening. -

JUST DON'T. SERIOUSLY.
*Lobby- OK.
*Hallway/pools/fitness room- fine enough, except you needed a staffer to use the lift because the elevator doesn't go to the ground floor.
*breakfast- ok except the egg patty things were watery.
*The weird turkey-centric restaurant- not bad if you like turkey.
*The bar- understocked, closed early, and the bartender had no idea what he was doing (didn't know what NEAT meant, served whiskey in a shot glass, etc.)
*Rooms- UGGHH:
The bed was hard and lumpy. The AC didn't have a "keep the fan on" mode so it kept turning on and off all night. The walls were PAPER THIN so you could hear everyone coming and going and getting it on and showering and flushing. Barely any channels on the tiny tube tv and the remote barely worked. "Free" Wi-Fi was a pain to get going, needed a password, and stopped working after a few minutes. On night two the fire alarm started beeping about a dead battery- great maintenance guys!
*Staff- REALLY?!
At Check-in we were passed off mid-process to a girl on a personal phone call who didn't hang up to help us. The girl that came up to change the battery in the smoke alarm had no idea what she was doing- she climbed up on the desk in her bare feet, struggled with the thing for 20 minutes, eventually got the new battery in and left with it hanging half off the wall and still beeping. (I hopped up after she left and the battery was red hot- in backwards, which she swore she checked.)
Ooooh the BEST PART--- one of my coworkers came back from a long day of work to find his room key not working. He got someone from the desk to let him in and there was someone else in his bed! They had checked him out early and the cleaning crew had thrown away his belongings. Luckily they didn't check the wardrobe (?!!) and his suitcase was still there.
