2 reviews for Claddagh Irish Pub
One of the first places I visited at the Levee, I have a special affinity for Claddagh. As Karina mentioned, the fish and chips are a specialty, but I've also had the Salmon Salad, and most recently a pulled chicken sandwich. Both were good. The chicken sandwich came with steak fries, many more than I could finish.
They have one of the larger (if not the largest) patios of the Levee restaurants. We have had to wait for service longer than we'd like a few times, but you can while away the time with a beer or two. Lately it's seemed a little sticky and smelly inside, although we usually continue on to the patio. Maybe it's the warmer weather and summer crowds?
While Claddagh is a regionally operated chain, the owners do a decent job of pulling off the Anglo-Irish pub vibe. With a nice river view and expansive liquor and beer selection, Claddagh is a great spot to unwind after work. The fish and chips are always a winner, but if you're looking for something a bit lighter, the Dublin Salad is an excellent choice. Char-grilled chicken rests atop a bed field greens, candied walnuts, tomatoes, and goat cheese (or sub bleu cheese), which is served with Tarragon Dijon dressing.
Word of warning for non-smokers and families: while there is technically a non-smoking section, it's not very well secluded from the smoking sections. We left reeking of second-hand smoke.
