Washington, DC is full of employment agencies, and for the most part one is just as bad as the other.  With that said, CityStaff is a breath of fresh air and a welcome addition to our community.  Having been a headhunter in a previous life, I'm particularly critical and demanding of staffing companies.  CityStaff has a completely different business model that truly sets them apart from the competition.

The first thing you will notice as a client is that they will insist on seeing your office and meeting your staff to get a sense of your particular office's culture.  In my case, they spent a lot of time talking to me to understand exactly what I look for in a candidate.  And then they deliver.  Every single resume they've sent me has been a person I would hire, and they are extremely responsive.

There's also a difference for candidates as well.  My experience with most agencies is that the "recruiters" spend only 5-10 minutes on the interview.  That's not the case at CityStaff.  They invited me to their office to see how candidates are interviewed and evaluated.  They take just as much time getting to know their candidates as they do their bill-paying customers, which is absolutely imperative to creating "happy marriages."
