4 reviews for City View at the Metreon
I just got home from attending the SF Weekly DISH at this venue and it was the perfect spot for this event! There was plenty of space to fit 40+ vendors along with all of us hungry patrons as well. I didn't expect the Metreon to be so cozy and chic. This spot was well ventilated, despite the massive crowd running around with their plates of sample foods and cups of wine. If you're starting to feel a bit stuffy and claustrophobic, feel free to step outside onto the balcony to catch a glimpse of the city lights at night. It can be quite breath-taking.
Keep in mind it can get super windy out on the 4th floor. Don't repeat my mistake by putting a plate of food and wine on the ledge, only to have the wind blow it off seconds later. It was a sad sad moment. I'm trying to block it out of my head...
Looking forward to future events at City View!
One of the best event spaces I've seen in SF. Easy parking/access and the view looking out over Yerba Buena and the MOMA is iconic.
Yeah, this event was EPIC-ly awesome. The vendors were serving up some great eats and the bartenders were doing an amazingly top-notch job serving up the drinks throughout the night. The good food and drinks kept flowing that night =] Great location too! Even though it was foggy outside, my friends and I were able to chill and enjoy the nice view of the city (with a refeshing Tom Collins in hand). The atmosphere and people were really great, a real mature crowd. Major props to SF Weekly, Parkmerced, ands One World Children's Fund for putting together this awesome night!
City view at the Metreon (4th floor indoor event space and terrace) was a great venue for a private event that I attended.
As indicated by it's name, it does indeed have great panoramic city views which can be enjoyed on the expansive outdoor terrace or through the floor to ceiling windows. And in the heart of downtown, it really is a convenient location to BART, if only it ran later for the late night party. But centrally located, it is easy to find parking and to get on and off the freeway.
Our group of 600+ people was well received and I was impressed with the management. Now if only, they would validate parking, they would get five stars from me.
But I would recommend City View (which really is an independent part of the Metreon) to anyone considering it. You pay a pretty penny - but for the right event it is worth it.
