Be careful people.  My dog was viciously attacked a couple weeks ago and it was UGLY.  My dog is a rescue dog.  A formerly abused, very lovable, sweet and eager to make new friends.  He's extremely social and loves loves loves making new friends... dog friends and people friends.

But one overly aggressive red nosed pit bull had my dog's ENTIRE head in his mouth.  I am not kidding.  The other dog owner barely weighed a buck and couldn't even control her animal... all while her useless piece of shit boyfriend stood and watched the attack.

You're wondering what I did?  I dove between the dog's mouths and shielded my dog with my body.  I was covered in dog fur and chunks of my dogs flesh and blood.  My husband had to grab her dog's mouth to protect me while I was protecting my dog.

here are pictures before my husband tended to the wounds:

Her dog was still trying to get to my dog.  She had the audacity to inform me that my dog was 'too timid to be social'.  That's a bunch of bull fucking shit.  Until that day, I brought my dog to this dog park 3 days  a week and became familiar with the regulars and had never seen this skinny bitch before.

I hope she reads yelp.

The rules of the dog park are posted for your READING before entering.

Overall, having a dog park in Stockton is awesome. Stockton is my hometown so we visit family often.  Occasionally we'll bring our Pembroke Welsh Corgi to the Barkleyville Dog Park until a few months ago when we had a bad incident with a few bad mannered dogs. My dog is the obedient, calm, friendly, love to meet new people/dogs/submissive type. On one occassion a dog owner of a yorkie did nothing as her dog attempted to attack my dog.  She just stood there and laughed so my husband had to literally kick her dog off of ours..... Haven't been back since.

We took our two dogs to Barkleyville today and both of them liked the park. However, we had a slight dilemma. They have three sections of the park: obstacle course (neither dog was interested), a section for dogs over 20 lbs and a section for dogs under 20 lbs. We have one of each which meant that either our dogs couldn't play together or we had to take our little dog into the big dog section at our own risk. At first we split the dogs up but neither dog was enjoying themselves so then we took our little dog over to the big dog section. Luckily for Bella, the other big dogs were mostly friendly but we did get a couple of dirty looks from the other dog owners.

Besides that, the park is well designed. They have gates on each area to prevent runaways and they have water fountains for both humans and dogs (our little dog thought that it was a bath and tried to climb in...LOL). There are also plenty of benches and lots of trees for shade.

I was so glad to finally have a dog park here in Stockton.  We take our dog a few time a week, and he loves it!  It does have a separate area for smaller dogs, which I thought was pretty cool.  We also had a small issue with an aggressive dog.  I think that people know when their dog has aggressive tendencies, I mean come on it's common sense!  We kinda got the oh your dog isn't neutered, neither is mine thing.  Yeah, my dog isn't neutered, we plan on breeding him!  But that doesn't make him aggressive, he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body!  The other owner ended up having to leave because her dog kept growling at all the other dogs.  It's like come on people, if you're dog's aggressive  either train it or leave it at home!  I am a dog lover and believe any dog can be a loving pet but if people don't want to take the time to train their dog then don't risk the lives of ones that want to play and have a good time at the Barkleyville.  That was the only issue we have had, other than that everyone and their pets are super friendly and it is a great place to get that extra energy out of your dog!
