City Fish Seafood Grill and Chop House
Where to start?  Let's start by giving them 5 stars the restaurant and kitchen are impeccably clean as well as the restrooms. The décor is very easy on the eyes and there is plenty of room both inside and outside. They even have cameras over the range in the kitchen displaying what is cooking on large plasma TV's. We decided to sit outside under the covered patio it was nice, it is open but has air conditioning and ceiling fans. There was live entertainment, a guy playing a keyboard and he did not sound too bad.
The service was excellent and he had told us the specials of the day and they sounded great, but we had our minds set on Sushi.
Our server brought us some fresh baked bread and olive oil pesto for dipping. This was great and kept us busy while we chatted and waited for the food. We ordered Yellowtail Sashimi with diced chilies, yellowtail, jalapeno and yuzu juice. We also ordered the Big Boss roll which consisted of Yellowtail, Smoked Salmon, Tuna and Avocado. We finished it off with the Tuna Tempura Roll that had Yellow Fin tuna, Asparagus, Avocado; Cream Cheese, tempura Fried & Served with a Trio of sauces. All these dishes were excellent and displayed beautifully. The rest of the food on the menu looked great, so needless to say I have to return to taste more of these delicious culinary delights.

We've eaten here twice and the food and service have been very good both times.

I ordered the shrimp scampi and a dinner salad on my last visit. The salad was crisp and fresh, served on a cold plate, and the lemon-basil dressing was excellent.

The generous portion of shrimp was served on toast, and accompanied by my choices of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The shrimp was delicious and the toast was a welcome change from Florida's habit of serving scampi over pasta. The green beans were cooked al dente, and the garlic mashed potatoes were very good as well.

Others in our party ordered king crab, which disappeared quickly, surf & turf kabobs, and food I can't recall, but everyone was very pleased with their meals.

The waiter bragged about their Key Lime pie (doesn't everyone in Florida?), so two of our group ordered it, and I gave it an obligatory taste. WOW. That was some good Key Lime pie!! Probably the best I've had. I crave it now as I write.

The prices seem reasonable as well, the scampi was 15.90 and I was more than satisfied.

Highly recommend.

I would've ranked this place higher had I not just been to the far better Belleair Grill & Wine Bar. Still, the food at City Fish was better than average by Florida standards (just not as good as BG). City Fish seems more about style over substance while BG is more about substance over style. As such, City Fish is better for a big night out, whereas BG is better for a quiet, romantic dinner. Either way, this gives Clearwater another nice place to eat in addition to the more casual, Frenchy's restaurants.

Should I even bother reviewing a restaurant that has a sign the restroom says "Potty" in big neon yellow letters?

I guess, but this one will be short because that visual burned into my retina, even though it's days later, still disgusts me.

Tacky signs aside the place has a really nice Floridian charm. Darkened, with slow spinning ceiling fans that make me think of an old Humphrey Bogart flick that was never written (but should've been). It appears to be a pretty busy establishment catering to the upscale patrons of the sleepy town of Oldsmar, who apparently don't feel it's entirely necessary to dress up to go out. The staff was on their collective toes and we couldn't blink without them offering to refill our water glasses. As far as the food goes the flat bread bruschetta was simple but a tasty combination of shrimp and tomatoes. My mahi-mahi was served impeccably cooked, but none of the sauce suggestions seemed to quite fit. Eventually I just settled on the garlic/butter sauce to at least give it some semblance of flavor. Better tasting was my GF's exquisite seafood stuffed fillet Mignon  which was bursting at the seams with all types of oceanic goodness. Tender and perfectly cooked I knew I'd made the wrong choice for an entree the moment our server placed it on the table. Although quite tasty neither of our sides were anything worth writing about and were terribly overshadowed by the main courses, though the vegetable medley was a very interesting choice. Chopped zucchini and green beans I believe it was, memorable it was not. Dinner, appetizers, and salad for two came to about $60 bucks and some change which exactly what I figured it'd be when walking through the door. Too bad I wasn't in a betting mood that would've made the night really interesting.

On another note the restrooms were quite plush with flat screens in the men's urinals similar to those found at trendier nightclubs. It even had a lounge area with wicker table and chairs. Though all of that still does make up for that atrocious mockery of a sign.

So no you cannot have that 4th star you might have gotten.

Denied.
