Rolf has been taking care of our air cooled cars for over 20 years. I have never met a more knowledgable, honest, efficient mechanic. Our cars do not have off the shelf parts available. His ability to find or fashion what is needed to keep us on the road is amazing.

I take my extremely rare and expensive Vanagon Syncro Camper here for mechanical work. Rolf is very professional and is the go-to guy for vanagon work in San Francisco. He's fast and efficient, but a little condescending (maybe it's the German accent). He has done a tune-up, and replaced my starter on different occasions. When the starter was replaced, the airbox was not put back properly. I was able to fix it myself, but it should not have been overlooked.

Location (close to MUNI, BART)
Specializes on Vanagons

Cons:
Can be cranky/condescending
Could overlook minor details
