We visit this place every year and love it! The staff is super friendly.
When you first walk in you get a scary movie feel, its an old souvenier shop but they recently added an antique area. There is an ice cream parlor in the back and it looks like they will be adding food soon. Once you purchase your tickets for the park and food (if you want to feed the animals) they give you a brief explanation of some local artists and their pieces on display. Then you start your dinosaur tour. This area is darker but each year they are adding on to it. We usually skip through this because our kids aren't really into dinosaurs and want to see the animals.
The animals are all rescued or donated animals. Some are injured but almost all are friendly. You will find birds, turtles, llamas, deer, emu, donkey, orangatangs, alligators, goats etc. A good selection of animals to feed.
There is usally a random animal out wandering after escaping their cages but its has been the deer or raccon that weren't looking to cause any harm.
This is a great inexpensive stop if you are in the area. If you are looking for the glitz and glam of big city attractions this wont be it. But if you are looking for something out of the ordinary and like to support local mom and pop shops this is the place to do it! -

My husband and I went to visit his family in Florida, and ended up going here. It's a big gift shop with some cute local kitch. It has a zoo set up like a town. I've included various signage and 'hoods of the zoo. There was a room with birds, including one that I uploaded in the photos. It was a beautiful pale pink and kept like, snuggling with itself and whispering to us, and when we got close to hear what it was saying, it freaked out and screamed at us and opened up his wings that were brilliantly orange inside. It was so scary and so awesome.
There were also lots of monkeys and raccoons in cages that they could easily escape. They liked to eat the local oranges that were laying around everywhere. That's Florida for you, I guess.
There were also dinosaur and pirate rooms that were "museum-like." They also had some local artwork available for purchase, some that were people sculpted out of machines.
Overall, weird but fun.
