Ok... well I barely shop here anymore, but it's not because it's a bad store... it's just because I've sworn off shopping for the longest time.  Ya know... unless you're rich... you can either look good or have a house... so I'm choosing to attempt the latter, which means I can't do so much shopping.

That being said, I used to shop here a LOT... the guys that work here are super friendly and completely helpful when it comes to picking out a cute ensemble.  I can always trust 2 employees here without a doubt and they know who they are.   They saw me go from fresh and new to the city (clean shaven and waxed and product) to slightly rougher (thinner, beard, more muscles, and more natural) to tattooed and even through my brief stint taking circus classes.

Through all those different phases they were able to help me when I needed some advice... from size 30 to 34 and back to 32, I've always found them able to find something to help me look presentable.  The store itself often has cute T's and decent shoes... and they carry enough of a variety of jeans and other things that I can be sure to find at least 1 brand that fits my ever changing shape.

Best service. Evar.
Super cute clothes, awesome prices, just wish they'd stop making it into a store largely based on catering to people over 40. Sean is a sweet heart. Marco doesn't work there anymore /cry.

Looks like I'll be the first girl to review Citizen.  Absolutely sexist service.  I can be holding a wad of 100's in my eager hand all ready to spend it, but I'm ignored because I'm not a hot guy.  Even if the hot guy hasn't got 2 cents in his tight jeans.  Heck, I wouldn't even have to be a "hot" guy, just any guy, even Dick Cheney, will get more attention than I've gotten on the 4 or 5 times I've been in Citizen.

A sweet little clothery in the Castro.  I found a very cool tee-shirt that I imagine that I could not find anywhere else.  Lucky me!  And it was at a reasonable price too.

There was a interesting mix of somewhat pricey to relatively inexpensive items here.  All for men.  Women usually get all the attention but not here.  I guess "metroism" is helping all of us men a little.

Although the mix was interesting, there is really not "something for everyone".  But should there be?

They definitely have some good clothes here but not much service.  Every time I come here I feel like I am trespassing on the catty banter.

I always check out the zen, it's a great place for a quick fix of freshness. The prices start high put end low so come back often. The have a particuallry great selection of t-shirts and Howe jacets. Also, great nax under glass. There are deals here, but you have to come at the right time or hunt. All in all it's a friendly nunch and not queenadonnas. As a straight guy I give it my Greg-Lou-Gayness Award for 'Attire most attractive' & with friendly, funny service.

I must agree, best modern amusement collection, I love that brand and it's why I went there in the first place. Villans has good pieces but citizen tends to have them all. Staff is nice and helpfull and the selection of other brands is awesome. Men's clothing only have a few good places, this is one of them.

this is where i go when all else fails, can't find the styles i am searchin out, running out of time, gotta pick up some cool threads now!

the layout and lines available are stylish, hip and at a price-point i often avoid.  again, this is a go-to, last resort kinda spot for me-- like when i couldn't find these cool ass onizuka tigers--
http://static.px.yelp....
--after hitting like three other spots...yes, them kicks were here.  again, i paid 5-10 bucks more than usual, but oh well..that's what i get for not having a normal shoesize.

always have a blast here with the staff as they keep me up-to-date on the latest technology of men's briefs.  only if my grandpa was still around to shop with me here, as he always preached being frugal with clothing except for the essentials like underwear and socks...

usually stock up on 2xist and C-IN2 here...it's all about comfort baby!!!

this is an ode to the original metrosexual  =)

Heres the thing. I like this store a lot...I really do. It's just really difficult for me to appreciate a store that never has anything in my size, for the record, I am a large...I guess I should be happy I'm not the only one. There have also been times recently when I have walked in and gotten a greeting, but nothing else and that saddens me, but just a little. It's not a bad store at all...they just need more stock.

A little slice of West Hollywood in SF.
Best t-shirts in town - pima cotton, retro-ish, eurotrashy, you name it.  There's one of the Paris Metro at night that haunts me as I write this.

A couple of weirdly cool items, too.  I picked up a little chrome robot for $25 that looks like Robby from Forbidden Planet.   It said on the box, "This is not a toy."

WTF?  It hasn't vacuumed my living room yet.  Still trying to teach it how to whip up a quesadilla.

One of my favorite men's clothing stores, they always have the brands to guarantee my metrosexuality is in check. Stuff like Jack Spade, Modern Amusement, Ben Sherman. Fun selection of socks, hats, belts, even a handful of ties.

I often wander in, but then I always wander out, nothing in hand.  It's a nice store, the brands are good, but the pieces that represent the brands never quite grab me.

Wow. They have about the city's biggest collection of Modern Amusement, which is hands-down the awesomest brand since Jordache Jeans. Modern Amusement shirts, jackets, pants, cords, and even swimsuits! Ludicrous!

They carry lots of Penguin, Izod, and Fred Perry. And some other brand called Y-3 that insists on printing their logo in huge letters on everything they make. I hate that.

If someone turned off my spending control hormone, I'd drop a fortune here. Instead I just spend a small fortune here. Give it a try. I recommend it.

This is a great place. Friendly staff (and not to shabby to look at either) and lots of now fashions. I much prefer shopping in a store like this than Macys or Nordstroms. Better service and it is always clean and well-presented. It would have gotten more stars, but ,every time I go, it seems that they are sold out of my size in half the things I want. Oh well. Check it out and support local merchants.

Good place to go if you want to buy cute men's accessories but not leave the Gayborhood. Jack Spade, Paul Frank, Lacoste... yeap, it's all there. Granted it may not be for the fashion adventurous, but it's a good place to get the latest trendy garb without having to hit downtown.
