Love love love this place.
These are the places that make New York great, an old school Italian bakery in the middle of Bushwick. Staff is always really friendly and everything I have ever gotten from here is delicious. The cannolis are to die for. I am just waiting for an event where I need to order a cake from them, because I know it will be great.
If you live in the area, stop by and support this local business. -

The staff is always friendly at Circo Pastry Shop, a breath of fresh air in established Bushwick businesses.
The main reason I frequent Circos is for their cannoli, the mini ones they fill while you wait. I have not found fresher or more delicious cannoli (less sweet than other bakeries and pastry shops) anywhere. And, to have found such a treat in my own backyard is even more of a delight. -

Best fig cookie I've ever had, really friendly guys, and directly beside the place of residence.

Perfect EVERYTHING. You are a fool if you live near here and don't worship every brick of its being.

Went here to bring home desserts for Easter since its right off my block. They were really helpful got a cheesecake and it was soooo good! Also got myself some rainbow cookies and the man behind the counter was so nice and gave my roommate and I some to try right there.
Also a side note the cannolis are so fresh that they fill them on the spot, they don't let them sit getting soggy.
It's definitely the place in the neighborhood to go for some old school Italian desserts. If you check out their website they deliver as well. -

Went here for a cake for my friend's baby shower and I must say I was impressed. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Their cakes are beautiful and so creative not to mention oh so delicious. It was a little out of the way but totally worth it. Everyone at the shower was raving about the cake and the mommy to be was so happy. I will def go back for cakes for special occasions.
On a side note, the place itself looks and feels like it is trapped in time and is a little out of place in the neighborhood, but their baked goods are worth the trip. -

How is this place still open?! In the middle of Bushwick, you have this old school Italian bakery. The shop is well kept inside, and has some serious stuff. They make a giant cannoli, and even had fried struffoli for the holidays (nowadays its usually baked), as well as all the typical stuff you'd find at a great Italian bakery.
I got an order of sesamee cookies, anisette toasts, a small sfogiliatele, and tried a rainbow cookie and a regular cookie. The rainbow cookie had too much jelly, but otherwise was great. The regular cookie in particular was great, with a good proportion of sugar of ricotta added. I liked the anisette toasts a lot, although the sesamee cookies were a bit too bready. The sfogliatele didn't last long, and was great as well. I only got a little bit of stuff (by my standards) this time, and while I still have my regular bakery that I go to, next time I'm not able to make it out there I might come here instead. Definitely a great Brooklyn shop.Listed in: Real Italian Bakeries

My good friend (the same person who put me on to Saraghina) lives in Bushwick, introduced me to this spot. The cookies are divine. The shop itself isn't anything to shake a stick at, but like I said, the cookies are the bomb dot com. I'm not a huge sweets fan (I like savory better) but I got a pound of the ones with the almonds on top yesterday and killed them all.
I bought 2 lbs of assorted cookies to bring to my families Thanksgiving dinner last year and they loved them as well. No question, I'll be back...actually thinking about traipsing my ass over there again today.... -

Finally stopped in to get to know this historic old place. I met the young guy behind the counter who told me the place has been owned by his family since 1945. Oh, yeah, and his name is Joey. Of course it is! Couldn't be nicer. I had the eclair and a coffee. Perfect. Joey gave me some fig cookies on the way out to try. Loved 'em. Ciro's is the last vestige of Bushwick's Italian heritage. It doesn't look like the place has changed a bit in 60 years. Let's hope it stays just like it is, and someday Joey Jr. takes over.

Best Italian cookies I have had anywhere. Better even than the homemade ones from my Italian stepgrandmother. The almond and pignoli are both very good, and the almond with a cherry on top is divine. I also enjoyed the homemade fig cookies, which taste like an ancient recipe, and are chewy and not very sweet. This place should be famous, just like Mazzola's bread.
I usually avoid old fashioned Italian bakeries since I find the products often taste like they are made from mixes and with cheap ingredients such as margarine. This place is the best. So worth a special trip. -

These guys make some awesome sweets in old school Brooklyn style. Try the little cheesecakes, or their boxes of assorted treats (great for a party if you can get a little spendy for it - it's worth it.)
I'll warn you - if you have a sweet tooth, this place can be dangerous. -

This is an amazing old-school Italian bakery in the heart of Bushwick. The service is remarkably friendly--in stark contrast to most businesses in the area--and the cannolis are the best I've had in all of NYC. They actually fill the cannolis with cream when you order them, so they couldn't be fresher! If you're anywhere near the area, this place is absolutely worth your time and cash.

Circo's is amazing. Incredible. Fantastic. My sfogliatelle was still warm when I got home to enjoy it, and they even have American filtered coffee, which was delicious. The cannoli? Minus the candied cherries, perhaps the best I've ever had. They also have a gorgeous 5 inch round cheesecake with fruit topping that I will bring to the next birthday party that I'm invited to. Viva Circo's!

I had to get a last minute b-day snafu for my boyfriend. This place saved the day! The desserts were lovely, candied kiwis and blueberry cheesecake minis and a perfect one man portion tiramisu cup with a cherry and biscotti. the staff was really nice and helpful, especially on the 4th of july on knickerbocker. oh and I had to get the lb of cookies with all different fudges and sprinkles and jellies and such. My boyfriend loved it, and I will definitely try out the pastries and cakes and other cookies. Oh and the whole decor of the place, the boxes, color co-ordination makes this place a gem. Been there since 1945? I believe it!

No reviews? Are you kidding? Oh, MAN this place is good. Deep in Bushwick, this Italian bakery isn't going anywhere. Amazing mini-cheesecakes and chocolate mousses. But nothing beats those freshly-made cannollis. The staff is friendly and it's well worth the hike for anyone not already in the hood.
Their big cakes have not impressed me. -

So glad this place lasted in the neighborhood. I moved from Astoria and was really missing Italian treats when I happened upon this bakery. Love love their cannolis and can't wait to try everything else!

Update: the birthday cake I ordered was really delicious. I ordered a white cake with strawberry filling - the strawberries were fresh and cake was very tasty - everyone at the party really enjoyed it!
They did a great job with the decorations as well - this was definitely a bargain compared to the pricey bakeries in Manhattan that I was considering before.
Recommended!

Really good.. You have one brother graduating from the CIA Culinary, one brother graduting from CIA Baking.. Family owned and operated. Has been around since 1945 in this hood.. The owner said it was once "All Sicilian" Though the neighborhood has changed, this place has not.
Had a bunch of people over last night so we were able to get a bunch of stuff..
We ordered a pound of cookies with the sprinkles on the end and the jelly in the middle.. They were really good...
Best rainbow cookie I have had in a very long time..
The lobster claws were incredible.. Crispy on the outside, lots of cream on the inside..
Will be going back, this place is a gem. -

This old-school Italian bakery looks like it hasn't changed a bit since it opened in 1945. My girlfriend is absolutely devoted to the butter cookies here. A pound of cookies from Circo's will get me out of all kinds of trouble. I live in the area but it's definitely worth the trip if you don't.

I stumbled upon this bakery by accident and I am so glad I did! I'm a big fan of their cookies. Their jam filled powdered sugar sandwich cookies are so buttery, and soft and home made delicious. Whenever i'm going to a dinner party I bring a box of cookies from Circo's and everyone is always exclaiming over how good they are. I'm not a marzipan person, but apparently it's really good here. This is a real Italian Bakery a la Mikes Pastry in Boston, but not as crowded. Loves it.
