Pros: Clean, tavern section, IMAX, killer sound
Cons: Nothing too major to think of.
Best movie theater in Orange County? This might be it. I wish the awesomeness of it would rub off on the rest of the Gardenwalk, but on its own merit this theater is one of the best in Orange County. It's gorgeous, the seats are comfortable, it's clean, the punks that bombard The Block are missing, there is an IMAX, and best of all, OC has a movie tavern FINALLY. It's great fun when you get friends together to have beer and wine while watching a flick. Great movie theater that unfortunately anchors a modern day ghost town.
Came here to see Avatar 3D. Luckily I got the tickets online because when we got there at 2:00pm for the 2:30pm showing, it was sold out and next available showing was at 9:30pm. I hadn't been to too many IMAX theaters, so I am not comparing this to other IMAX's but only my impression and experience of how I felt about this place.
When we got there, the line was already pretty long. There was no sign of what the line was. I guess they thought people SHOULD know. Yes there was only 1 line forming and Avatar was the ONLY big movie showing. But I still think there should be a sign posted for dummies like me.
Getting my will-call tickets was fairly easy at the counter. I didn't realize there was a kiosk I could have used. I think the ticket counter should have told me so I'd know next time. When it was time to go in for the seating, the 'manager' (I'm assuming it was the manager) closed the side door and open the middle door. It was kind of chaotic because there were other people going in/out buying tickets.
The line was going kind of slow because instead of rolling out all the 3D glasses. They did it 1 cart at a time. Com'on, it's sold out. You know you need ALL the glasses! I do want to applaud Cinema Fusion for not selling all the seats because although it was sold out, not every seat was sold. I was really worried that we'd be sitting way up front since we were at the last part of the line.
I was also confused on the exact time of the movie. The website said 2:30pm, their board said 2:45pm. And it actually didn't start until almost 3:00pm. The 'manager' came in once everyone was seated to give us a 'welcome' speech. That was nice.
The seat is big and comfy. We were in the regular theater, not the the 21+ theater since my son is under 21. We enjoyed the movie very much. I like the theater and I'd be back to see other 3D movies. Hopefully my next trip will be better that I'd upgrade this place to more stars.
I wish they had a waiting area inside when you're catching a late flick that's popular, so you don't have to freeze your @$$ off outside in a two hour line!!! But que sera sera.
The theater was comfortable, the sound and picture quality were good, and it was nice to have the manager great the audience before the film. He even went around validating parking tickets by had. Who does that?? I want to come back and try the adult-only movies to see what those theaters are like.
It maybe have something to do with the fact that it's built in a new plaza but this is a pretty good theater that really shows you how a modern theater should be. A real IMAX theater, a lounge experience, and 14 screens really make this the type of theater that can attract different age groups and yet maintain it's ability to be family friendly. Couple it with the fact that this new theater is in an area with plenty of eating options and you have a winner!
I really want to give this place a 5 star rating but I gotta deduct it because I feel like it has an important design flaw: the lounge is too small. It definitely doesn't matter most of the times in a year but if you're going to come in and watch a movie that everyone wants to see, you can expect to have your butt freezing outside in line like I did for The Dark Knight in IMAX.
Awesome movie experience here! I am going to reveal some embarassing information but I have seen AVATAR IMAX 3D a whopping 3 times. Yes, I am that fanatical.
All my friends that know me, KNOW that I am NOT a fan of seeing movies in theatres. I could count on one hand how many times I have been in the last 3 years prior to my AVATAR fanatacism. I usually only went when my friends had tried to convince me. However, with AVATAR, I had to take all my friends or family. And the two friends I was hanging out with had still not seen it, and when they asked, I couldn't resist.
For some reason, not sure if it was more of my state of mind (not feeling symptoms of my cold, or being that this was an early show instead of a late night one), but I thought their screen made the movie more vivid. Is that possible? Either way, the theatre was clean and easy to access. I would definitely go again.
There's a 21+ seating area. Im basically saying YOU can drink beer and wine INSIDE THE THEATER.
I didn't even know stuff like this existed. Looks like whoever was part of the brainstorming session for this idea got laid the night before. Good job Cinema Fusion. Or good job to Anaheim for letting them pull this off.
The bar is whatevs but it ain't like ur gonna be getting smashed for godsake. Maybe getting smashed IS an appropriate thing considering it'll help you sit through all the trash films Hollywood tends to release.
This theater is awesome. We went today with 4 other people to see Avatar in 3D (that movie is incredible) and while the line was long, everyone got the seat they wanted and there may not be a bad seat in the house. The staff is incredibly friendly, the manager actually came out before the show started and asked everyone to turn off their cell phones, told us that there would be no previews and gave us instructions on what to do with our 3D glasses after the show. No previews or stupid commercials before a movie!!!?!?!?! How nice.
We haven't been to a 21+ movie yet but are definitely planning on it. The concession lines were minimal, the restrooms are clean with plenty of stalls and the parking lot is a stone's throw away. There is also a Cinnabon next door for those who love their buns.
Hope to see you there!
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE THEATER EVER! (And has got to be one of the best kept secrets in OC).
Why is this place so deserted? All it needed was some tumbleweed and a vulture and the ghost town image would be complete. I don't get it... but I don't care, I'm definitely going to be watching all my movies here from now on. Here's why:
1) They serve BEER AND WINE.
2) The facility is brand new and gorgeous... they've got a cool modern vibe going on.
3) The staff are incredibly friendly.
4) These are the most plush theatre seats ever... leather recliners!
5) They serve BEER AND WINE.
Feeling like a rock star having a (nearly) private theater with ridiculously comfortable recliners to sit my booty on is SO worth the $12.50 ticket price. Much as I love kids, It's also nice to watch a movie in a 21+ theater. The beers are only $5, and I think the wine is around $6... so the alcohol might very well be the cheapest movie theater libation available!
What are you waiting for? Go NOW, before other people find out and your movie has more than 6 people in the theater on a Saturday night.
NOTE: The parking structure is god-awful. When entering from Katella, head toward the back right and go down a level or two if need be. Then look for the elevators (near the back right corner of the structure) and head all the way up directly in front of the movie theater! Don't forget to get your ticket validated!
Because of this theatre I am a spoiled and now snooty movie goer...this place really is AWESOME. I'm reviewing the 21+ movie goer side....only $1 more but totally worth it! No loud cries, obnoxious kids texting or yelling. You can purchase alcohol with your popcorn and sit in fabulous seats! For the real movie experience you have to go here! I love this place, if I could I would watch all my movies here, too bad I'm an hour away... :) My fav movie theatre!!
Went back again to see Avatar in IMAX 3D. We chose this place since our local theater was swarming with kids due to winter break. We had originally planned on seeing the 21+ show, but we learned that they don't open the bar until 4PM. We figured it wasn't worth paying the extra money for the 21+ showing just for the leather seats so we ended up seeing the IMAX 3D show. The IMAX here is an IMAX Digital so it is just a normal size screen (the theater is smaller than a regular theater giving the illusion that the screen is bigger since you're sitting closer to it), but the resolution is better than a regular digital projection theater.
They still get the little touches right here. The employees are friendly and it is a nice touch to have someone in the theater to welcome everyone before the film and thank them for coming after the film. He also told us there was nothing after the credits, which was helpful. The restrooms are clean and the concession stand if slightly cheaper than other theaters. They also simplified everything by just having a regular and large size instead of the 4 sizes I mentioned in my first review. They still haven't put everything on their menu yet. They have nachos and some food in a mystery bag that aren't on the menu. They have lots of ice cream and their bottled water is Fiji. I still wouldn't mind if they expanded the snack bar selections a little.
On the down side, they seemed to be woefully understaffed. The box office was not open. They only had one guy selling tickets out of the customer service desk. There was also only one person working the snack bar. The snack bar needs to be drastically expanded. There are only two registers. The last time I was here the snack bar line was horrible, but they had just opened then so I thought they hadn't installed all the registers yet, but I guess they're sticking with two registers. Still, this is a great place to watch a movie.
FYI: the GardenWalk, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to do away with parking lot cashiers. You are expected to pre-pay for your parking or use a credit card to pay the automated system on your way out. This caused all sorts of trouble as people without credit cards were stuck and unable to pull out with cars behind them. I'm also pretty sure the automated machine didn't read the validation correctly since I was charged $9 for parking. I know they have to charge for parking or else the cheapskates are going to fill their lot and walk to Disneyland, but the outrageous parking prices are probably just one reason this place was empty 3 days before Christmas.

I'm scared. I really like this theater right now, but I can see it turning into AMC 30 at the Block.… Read more »
Seriously, I should've seen New Moon here! It's PERFECT! Why? You gots to be Over 21, baby!
We experienced the over 21 side, which I assume would be pretty cool had there been other moviegoers. It was just me and my bf and some lady who was in the lounge, reading a book. The guy behind the counter seemed bored.
The theater was VERY, VERY nice. It had the feeling of being in a home theater. Everything is so new and not sticky and smelly. I didn't order any drinks, but will definitely come back for the full experience.
Unfortunately, this is THE highlight of the Anaheim Garden Walk. If you just want to see a movie, then it's all good. But if you want to shop and dine, you might want to think twice. There's very few shops and only a handful of restaurants.
first imax experience...
first 3d experience...
A-V-A-T-A-R.
godliness. godly movie, gorgeous theater.
i wanted to be reborn on Pandora and be a stone cold aerial hunter too.
then I walked out of the theater into my real life =**(
mad love.
Before I write my review there is one very significant red flag I have to point out to the readers. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEE IMAX! The IMAX here is digital IMAX, which means the screen here is only slightly bigger than a normal movie screen. If you're gonna be paying $5 extra to see IMAX, go to somewhere with a real IMAX screen. The ones with the gigantic screens so big they almost curve around you. In orange county this means Ontario Mills and Irvine.
Besides IMAX this is a pretty nice movie theater. What I like best about this place is that next to the screen that shows their movie times, they show how many seats are left. Very useful for when you are in a large group. They also have a separate section that's for people 21+ only, where they serve alcohol. This place has a nice location in Gardenwalk, a relatively new shopping mall in Anaheim. Parking does cost money, but when you see a movie the first 4 hours are free with validation.
You can take your date to a movie, and then you can take here... it's two different experiences.
For starters, they have 21+ screens! And no, I don't mean they're showing "Romancing The Bone". I mean they're showing current movies in theatres designed for an older crowd.
How are they different? Nicer chairs for one. We're talking leather that is spaciously wide. Also there are lesser chairs per theatre. So while you may have gotten used to Stadium seating, this will have more of a screening room to it. Trust me, it's worth it.
Also, BEER! You can buy a beer here! And some nicer concessions as well, including it's own separate lobby.
Now if you're under 21, don't worry. A majority of the screens here are all ages, and much more like a typical movie theatre. If you go for that experience, it's really not much better than an AMC.
But if you're over 21, and you're looking for a better movie going experience, try out their adult screens.
The only reason why this place is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is the limited number of adult screens they have. Usually its 3, so there is always the chance that the movie you want to see wont be playing in the right room. But if it is, go for it. You'll love it.
Just watched Avatar again this weekend here, and I am pleased.
This theater looks very new and clean, all the way from seats to carpets to bathroom floors.
I give it 4 star because I had come here expecting a screen 4 times the size of AMC screen (read an article somewhere that real 1570 IMAX are suppose to be that big). However I found it only to be maybe twice of a regular screen size. The movie was still a very good experience, much better compared to the regular sized screen from when I saw Avatar the first time.
Before the movie starts, you get a personal greeting from a staff briefing you about what the theater is like, how long the movies is, whether you should wait after the ending credit, which way is the fastest to get back on freeway...I found the experience to me much more personalized compared to the big chain theaters like AMC.
When the guy started talking to everyone, I thought it was just some random guy trying to market himself.
This is my favorite theater in all of LA and Orange County. The place is still new and shiny and I really like it's modern look and feel. I especially love that they have 21 and over showings and that you can drink alcohol during your movie. There is a lounge where you can chill while waiting for your movie, also. The sound and screens are great and they have the most comfy chairs! It never seems to get too crowded there, which I like.
Went here on the opening night of Twilight and it wasn't crowded at all. After driving a couple of times around The Block, my best friend told me about this place and we went there to check it out. The Block was packed and there was no way we were going to pay for valet parking. At the Gardenwalk, the parking structure signs were confusing since there were arrows pointing to upper levels and the exit; which didn't do much because I would be driving in a circle.
Make sure you get your parking ticket validated at the theater so you don't pay the $3 an hour or so. The worker at Johnny Rockets said you get 2 hours for free.
I like the 21+ section because there were no kids. Last time I saw the first Twilight at Bella Terra, I heard kids behind me giggling because Edward and Bella were kissing -____-.
I paid $11.50 for a ticket.
Look - It's okay if I kick back in an overstuffed leather lounger in the over 21 theater with a couple of beers and watch a movie like I was a dorector screeening dailies.
But when there are other people in there, the experience is diminished.
One reason: People talk when they drink.
Tip: If you go - like my review would stop you - get there early and pick a good seat - some are way more comfortable than others.
Also, don't let your girl sit down first, then she'll be less inclined to get up when you find the best place to sit ever!
This is my closest Imax theater. So it serves it's purpose.
It's nicely located in Garden complex..The name escapes me..
The theater validates your parking for 3 hours i believe.
Usually when i head over there it's pretty deserted, but from what i see it being close to disneyland, i figure it would be quite the popular place on weekends.
The seats are a little better than your average theater. The ticket prices these days are getting ridiculous, but this theater is a good place to watch the flicks nevertheless. I really wouldn't come out all the way here to watch a normal flick, but the imax trip is worth it.
P.S. To all who like cinnabon, the one right outside the theater has some really hot and fresh rolls.
I try to only go to this theater because they offer the 21+ screenings with alcohol. Even if, this place is way cheaper than Century or The Block and they always have discounts for students and Disneyland Cast Members which sweetens the deal further.
I always shoot for the 21+ side so you don't have a screaming brat or mouthy high schoolers ruining your movie.
If you get lucky, you will get their lounge with reclining leather seats.
I love their Rewind series with older movies. It's cool to see some of the classics as well as some cult favorites on the big screen.
Awesome place to watch a movie. Beat the crowds and come here. It's brand new with recliner leather seats. The adult theater offers wine or beer for your movie enjoy approx $5 per drink. The chairs have cup holders fitting any type of beverage you have including a little side table for your popcorn. Worth the money especially when you are paying $11.50 at Edwards - I rather go here!
Simply the BEST movie theater in Orange County. I fly back and forth between New York and SoCal and I actually wait to see movies at this theater. The seats, the facilities - you can have a beer with your movie! And with the 21+ over screenings - no kids, no babies, no parents. Take that big apple.
went yesterday to go watch Avatar. we sprung for the 21+ lounge but was not informed the movie wouldn't be in 3D (doesn't say so on the website). we figured it would be in imax, 3D and 21+. can't have it all, but definitely worth the extra pay. nice quaint little theater, with comfy seats.
one downside was that we paid online, and when we went to go pick up our tickets, the damn machine was down! an old man came out and kinda seemed pissed that the kiosk was down and people had to grab their tickets as they came out (i'm not exactly sure what he did). for a new place, you'd think they'd have either a) some more kiosks, or b) some kiosks that actually worked. just sayin. good thing we got there early.
no screaming kids or long lines, or dummies screaming at the projector? i'll definitely be back.
ok, so yeah, we can all agree that new moon blew major chunks, but you know what i would never compare to vomit? being able to watch twilight part deux sans the screaming, hormonal tweens! yay!! ok, in all honesty, it wasn't much better with the older cougar ladies drooling and swooning everytime jacob lost a tee shirt, but alcohol makes every slightly miserable situation a little more bearable.
this theater isn't the closest to me, but it's definitely first choice for all my movie watching needs. the price for 21+ is a tad more @ 11.50 a ticket, but it's still less than stupid amc and i get to drink a dos equis or two at a time while watching mah chick flick.
i dig the loungy area in the lobby ~ nice place to chill before the film if you happen to find yourself there a bit early. the theaters themselves are clean and very comfy.
park on the fourth floor of the parking structure from hell [[where its always fairly empty]] for the quickest and easiest access to the theater!
Why did I give this place 3 stars when it is one of the only theaters I know that has 21+ screenings with beer available?
Don't get me wrong the alcohol and not having kids around the theater is nice and the quality of the movies are pretty good. What comes down to it is that the Imax of this theater is not a TRUE Imax.
I just went to watch Avatar Imax in 3D this week, and when I walked into the theater I noticed that the screen was nowhere close to the one in Irvine! The screen looked wider than normal theaters and just a bit taller, but nothing compared to the sheer size of the one in Irvine. The seats in Irvine made it seem like you were going to fall down because of the massive size of the screen, but the one here is ehh. The sound was somewhat lacking for a supposed "Imax" film because it really felt like any regular theater. The Imax speakers in Irvine are deafening and shakes you at your seat.
I enjoyed the movie and the picture quality and such was pretty good. However, I paid almost $17 for this because it was an IMAX 3d showing, yet I did not get a real Imax experience. It is very misleading and I still do feel ripped off for it.
If you want to get a real imax experience, go to Irvine where you will at least get your moneys worth. For regular movies this place is suitable without the worry about kids.
Didnt go into the 21+ this time because Paranormal Activity wasnt playing in there but enjoyed my experience.
Halloween night - I thought it was gonna be packed (well, packed for GardenWalk standards, I was wrong) maybe 20 people in the theater?
Why 4 stars? Prices... you would think they could be cheaper because of the lack of clientele, oh well, maybe I am just cheap at heart, lol.

Now THIS is a movie theater!! I have never, ever in my life really seen the movie theater experience as anything other than ...watching a movie. Maybe sometimes I would upgrade to IMAX. Cinema Fusion; however, is fantastic.
As so many people have said it's CLEAN. There are neon lights everywhere, they actually vacuum their carpet and there aren't popcorn bits drenching the ground. It's all about the 21+ screenings here, and there's a lounge area where you can sit back and wait for your movie, as well as a decent selection of beer and wine. I thought it would be expensive, but the beer was only 5 dollars a bottle! Not too shabby for in-theater snacks. Apparently their special screening rooms have leather seats for your added viewing pleasure, and I'm definitely going to come back here to check that out.
It's 5 dollars for a beer, 11.50 for a ticket. It's like watching a movie at the spectrum and buying a soda except you take out all the annoying kids and the nasty seats and floors and add some alchy.
Nerd alert. I love Harry Potter movies.
This is a great place to see a flick. We didn't even go to the 21+ screening and it was still peaceful. They advertised the 3:30pm show as Imax 3-D, which was a raping $13.50 per ticket OUCH. At least buy me dinner first, sheesh. On second thought, maybe the high ticket prices are what's keeping the ankle biters at bay. Well, it's working and I like it.
I think the term "Imax" needs to be a little more sanctioned by the powers that be. The screen is only slightly bigger than a regular one, and the 3-D was only for the first twenty minutes of the show. Weak sauce.
A word of warning for lolly gaggers like myself, there were no previews. So when we raced in at 3:29pm I barely had a chance to do my psycho ocd pre-movie peeing ritual before rushing in to grab a seat. Because we were running so late I didn't get to sample any of the fancy looking concessions either. That gave me the perfect excuse to break my ten year Cinnabon celibacy after the show was over. Bleh.
Special Note: Go up to level 4 in the structure and park near the last open door. You will be right by the theater and won't have to walk the entire Gardenwalk. Bloody brilliant!
Other than the fact this movie theater isn't close to where I live, this is a great place to see a film. Quite honestly, I don't see how they stay in business (or any business in the Garden Walk) since I have yet to be in a crowded theater when seeing a film here.
If you go to the 21+ side of the theater you will be treated to "first class" seats that are nicer than the Arclight. I hope this place makes it.
Crying baby? Annoying HS kids? Not here, well maybe in the under 21 section.
This is the only theater around that I could enjoy a beer with my popcorn and just focus on my movie experience. it's worth extra $ to have the comforts of a 21+ movie.
Yep, the rumors are true!
21+ Theaters. (not all of them though)
They serve beer and wine but nothing on draft.
Beer $5. Wine $7.
Seats are comfy. Theaters are big. I have ADD and high blood pressure, so it's difficult to sit thru a movie. But, when I have alcohol (SO great for the BP!) it makes it better.
Side note: Saw Bruno. Freakin' hilarious. If you have a sense of humor you must go see it. My face still hurts from laughing.
No bratty kids.
Plush leather seating (in some of the screening rooms)
Even the regular screening rooms are comfy
21+ area... drink alcohol with your movies
AND they don't rake you over the coals for all this luxury.
Cinemafusion - the ONLY way I'll ever watch movies ever again.
EVER!
Protips
- 4 hour Free Parking Validation with a Movie
- Make sure to bring your ID with you for 21+ access
- Sunday afternoons are The BEST time to catch a weekend flick
All movie theaters should be like this!
This truly is a place for the perfect first date. It allows you to impress your partner with the modern decor - very cute and fancy. It further allows you relax with conversation over beer ($5) or wine ($7) served in plastic cups in their sky lounge. Around 9:30PM, you can enjoy Disneyland's fireworks while sitting in those comfy sofa couches with your alcohol. And this is only the beginning!
The screening rooms are very intimate with big black comfy leather seats that allows you to focus and become more absorbed in the movie. We thought that we made the mistake of getting the large popcorn (Its the size of a KFC bucket!!). However, as we watched Brother Bloom (Great movie!) and the movie progress, the popcorn in the bucket was long gone before I even realized that I was reaching for the last piece. O___O How did that happen?
What a wonderful movie watching experience!! Beyond the awesomeness of their 21+ sky lounge, beer & wine, comfy big seats, they are cheaper than other movie theaters!! I shall return very soon....
Very Important Reminders! Don't forget to get your parking ticket validated - I believe it is 3.5 hours of free parking with validation!!
To enjoy anything in life
sometimes the best thing is not to have
a high expectation on something.
After hearing all the praises about this place
being able to drink alcohol, no noisy children,
and some room with leather seat...
my expectation of Cinema Fusion was 10 out of 10.
I was expecting the lounge to be something like this:
http://www.thespeednet...
But then in reality it was more like LAX Airport waiting area
(i have attached a photo).
I think the lounge experience might have been better if we came here around 9:30PM because
I'm sure from where the lounge is located you will be able to see fireworks from Disneyland.
also i was imagining bar to be something like this:
http://www.youboubargr...
But then the reality was beer bottles served in plastic cup
Well, it's not a Bar. It's a movie theater. What was I thinking?
Besides, there is a grill and bar called "Bar Louie" right outside
to satisfy your Thirsty Thursday.
I was very disappointed though with the maintenance.
We came in 15 min before the show started and nothing was cleaned!!
Plastic cups smelling like beer still in the cup holders, popcorns, nachos....
so i went to tell the employee in white shirt who seems to be in manager position.
He worked on it right away but no apology...
i know it's not your fault...but a simple apology is Business Ethics 101.
Fusion Cinema would have deserved 3 star I have never given on yelp.
But because of comfy leather seat and a movie "The Proposal" was such a funny movie I'm giving you 4 star.
No business is perfect, I'll forgive you.
We went here last night to see the OC rewind series showing of the Godfather...I don't know what was it "Munday, Tuesday, Thursday. Wednesday", sorry I couldn't resist. The movie was great, it was my first time ever seeing it, and I loved it. I am most definitely going to watch the second and third installments very soon. This was apparently co-sponsored by yelp, but I didn't recognize any yelpers faces, and trust me I looked for them. It was pretty crowded too. It was also crowded with the hundreds and hundreds of people waiting in line like sheep for the next transformers showing which apparently sold out at 1 p.m.....It was 10. sheesh!
We saw it in the 21+ theatre, because I like to feel special, but the tickets were still only $7.50!!! whoa. I will definitely be coming to see all the movies for the OC rewind series, it's oddly awesome to watch and old movie on the big screen even if you've watched it at home on your 27" when you stay home sick for the past ten years.
My only complaint is that we got there at 10, the marquee said ten, our tickets said ten, the theatre door even said ten.....But at 10:25 we were wondering what the hell is going on?!? I mean this is a three hour movie, did they forget about us because of all this transformers business? No, thanks to the couple behind us who saw me looking annoyed (as I am incapable of hiding emotion on my face), we were informed that there was apparently a misprint in the OC weekly that it started at 10:30. Okay, I get it. But why not come in and tell us that, or tell us that when we bought our tickets instead of having us sitting in a bright quiet theatre for an extra half hour? Oh well, my boyfriend argued some free tickets out of the whole ordeal. Everyone wins and now I get to go see the proposal!

I really dislike going to the movies. Mostly because I find it to be overpriced, and I am almost always disappointed in the film I saw. I'm really picky :)
I dislike going to the movies so much, that BF and I have been to 3 movies in the 3 years we have been together. Poor guy, I am such a mean girlfriend.
So, last night I decided to get crazy and take him to the movies (our 4th movie!) and let him see The Hangover. I was totally not feeling that movie, but I knew he wanted to go, so I thought I would be nice.
This theater is great! We did the 21+ screening, so we were able to drink before and during the movie. We had about an hour to kill, so we sat in the lobby and played Mancala while building our buzzes. I also found out that I like Pear Beer. Yum!
The theater itself was nice and clean, with comfy chairs.
We got our parking ticket validated here so we didn't have to pay for parking.
I enjoyed this place enough that I might just go to another movie this year! Three movies in a year? I don't know if I can handle it!
While I think all my fellow Yelpers are great, I almost don't want to share this place with anyone.
Cinema Fusion is located at the Anaheim Garden Walk, that until last week, I didn't even know existed. Anaheim is, like most things in southern California, in driving distance from Long Beach. But seriously, who wants to drive far to catch a movie that's already going to cost a pretty penny?
Well... Me. And soon to be you, my sweet 21+ year old friend.
After you buy a movie for any of their movies for the 21+ side, you get ushered into a private theater hallway that makes you feel like VIP. No rug rats running around. No annoying loud groups of preteens or teens. Just your fellow adults looking for a relaxing movie night out.
Head straight to the bar and grab a drink or two and find a seat for your movie. Depending on the movie, you can choose stadium seating or regular theater seating when you purchase your tickets. The stadium theater isn't that large, but there was plenty of seats for everyone that came to see the movie on Saturday night.
This is honestly how movies should be enjoyed when you're older. Watching a movie in peace and drinking whatever you like (so long as it's served at the theater). No kid kicking the back of your seat.
Don't worry about drunk people ruining the movie either. Once the movie starts, I have found that very few people feel the urge to leave repeatedly to get drinks. It's pretty laid back.
Adjacent to the "bar" is a great open space with couches and tables to lounge and further enjoy the company of your friends.
So, because all of you have shared your favorite places, I give you Cinema Fusion. Let's enjoy it before it gets so popular the 21+ movies sell out and we can't get in.
I'm so happy I found this place. I'm one of those people who loves seeing movies on the big screen, but doesn't go because I can't stand people these days. Taking calls on their bluetooth during movies, texting during movies, giggling and talking. Whatever happened to sitting down, shutting up, and enjoying the movie?
Its still alive at Cinema Fusion thanks to their 21+ screenings. About half the theaters are sectioned off just for adults, and its so great.
I can actually watch a movie without constant distractions. I haven't been at night, so not sure what that's like, but its fantastic for matinee's, which are usually filled with young bored people and people with little kids.
A valiant effort...
I really like this location. Almost everything is great... EXCEPT general admission tickets. I haven't been in all the theaters, but every time I got GA ticket, the theater was very very small. Now, I stick to 21+ and IMAX screenings. The location has multiple 21+ theaters and they do show all types of films. The place is clean, tickets are very reasonably priced, and it's rarely insanely crowded. The IMAX is a TRUE IMAX, with a proper screen and sound system- the theater was built to be an IMAX... unlike some of these "new" IMAXs that are just regular theaters that get a quick overhaul, but lack the true IMAX shape and sound.
Gardenwalk isn't a great place to kill time and go shopping, but it's excellent for dinner and movie and Cinema Fusion is a perfect theater for a date night... it even comes without all those wannabe 14 year old "gangsta" dickhead kids that have completely ruined the original atmosphere of the block at orange (a few miles down the road).
I think I'm going through a midlife crisis. Have I already reached the age when I give bonus points to a place because it doesn't have a bunch of annoying teenagers crawling about? Oh God.
Putting my crisis aside, I really liked Cinema Fusion...the 21+ side, that is. For just $8.50 a ticket, you can enjoy comfortable stadium seating and - here's the best part - DRINK while you watch your movie. That's right. They have a bar with a decent beer and wine selection, and prices are pretty reasonable - beers are $5, a glass of wine is $7.
I'm ashamed to admit that I watched Star Trek earlier tonight. I'm even more ashamed to admit that I enjoyed it. I'd never been a Star Trek fan, nor did I know anything about it before tonight, but...aw what the hell?
