One of Cicuto Acupuncture's Favorite Reviews What's This?
Denise is thorough, compassionate, supportive, intuitive, and very professional. When I talk to her about what's going on with my health I feel like she's really listening and taking it all in.
With a San Francisco office and an Alameda one, there's a lot of flexibility about when and where I can make appointments.
As a massage therapist, I am picky about who I work with. I have and would recommend her to anyone.

I was a total skeptic. I didn't believe acupuncture could help me.
I was really sick. I didn't have health insurance. After about two days of protesting, when I was too weak to argue any longer, I was brought in to Denise for help.
I didn't believe she could help.
When I laid down, my temperature was 102.5.
A half hour later, after she'd stuck me with a couple of needles, my fever was 99.5, and I felt tons better.
I totally didn't believe (which is why I took my temperature beforehand, so I could say, "I told you acupuncture doesn't work!" Joke's on me!) Now I recommend Denise to everyone.

Going to Denise has been my first experience with acupuncture. She has a gentle touch and truly listens to whatever it is that is ailing you. She is easy to talk to and let me unload all my problems, of which there are many, and of which I will not go into. The acupuncture herbs she recommended I use have definitely helped me make progress. She is located 4 blocks from my house which seals the deal. I like that I can grab some completely insane Clement street food item afterwards.
Definitely suggest to see her if you're ailing from anything at all, worth a try!

I overestimated my flex spending account this year, so instead of stockpiling Tylenol and Gas-X in my basement, I decided to try out acupuncture.
I chose Denise because she was in the neighborhood and had excellent Yelp reviews and I do not regret it. I came in initially because I am allergic to every flowering, pollinating plant on earth and heard acupuncture can be helpful for allergies.
Did it help? A resounding yes! The herbs were also effective as well, which kind of surprised me. I like the TCM approach to dealing with allergies because it doesn't dry out my sinuses as much as Claritin and Nasonex does.
Denise has also treated other minor ailments with good results. I sometimes have a tight jaw that clicks when I open my mouth and it goes away after a treatment. Scratchy insect bites that blow up to the size of a tea cup saucer? Yin-care took away the itchies. Other times, I just come in beat tired and she pokes a spot on the top of my head and I feel like I had a shot of espresso about half way through the treatment.
Denise is attentive and I feel very comfortable sharing my ailments, whatever form they might take, with her. The only thing I could possibly say I disliked about her services is that having the two offices cuts down her availability in San Francisco in half.
4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up.
I went to see Denise after I felt a sharp pain in my arm during a long motorcycle ride. When that happened, two of my fingers went numb in my hand. After a couple of weeks, sensation hadn't returned and felt it was getting worse.
When meeting Denise, it was my first time seeing an acupuncturist. I'm very traditional when it comes to medical care, so I was a little skeptic. But after the first session, I became a believer.
After 3 sessions, one of my fingers returned to normal with one of my fingers about 97% back to normal. Currently, I rarely notice anything wrong with that finger at all.
Surgery is bad. It's not reversible. Acupuncture is such a great alternative when possible. I urge anyone to try acupuncture before going under the knife.
Denise is professional, extremely well educated in her trade, her rates reasonable and has great bedside manner. Making you feel comfortable and know that you are working with someone who truly cares about your well being.
Denise's touch is amazing! This was my first time using acupuncture for pain relief. She has a very soothing demeanor that helped relax me. She was incredibly attentive and intuitive. Afterwards I was floating all day! I would absolutely recommend acupuncture and Denise to anyone who is dealing with chronic physical, emotional and spiritual pain. Her deep desire to help and heal is evident in her every word and action. What a gift!

Denise is amazing. I started seeing her when I was 5 1/2 months pregnant because my pregnancy had been miserable and awful from day one. From the first appointment I felt better. My nausea, which had shown no signs of abating, was gone. When I had heartburn problems I went to see her and they disappeared. When I'm having a hard time keeping my mood under control she helps with that too.
I was extremely skeptical to start with but I'm glad I went. I think that acupuncture is the only reason I have been able to enjoy my pregnancy.
Denise helped to alleviate anxiety over grad school and my particular life's exigencies with her magick needles and herbal remedies. I found her to be empathic, curious, and thorough. I will definitely be returning.
Ok, so - I'm a clinical depressive with anxiety. This woman is magic. I feel silly saying it - but i feel it's true.
I lay down, I close my eyes, I feel the wind of her moving around the room, I hear her tell me she will check on me. I open my eyes - I have like 20 needles in me and I can't feel any of them.
a minute later as I lay there - I can FEEL the muscles unknot, and then I RELAX and when i leave- I go home and pay bills, call friends, am SOCIAL ?!?! it's AMAZING.
better than drugs; of any sort ;-) . She also has me on some herbal concoction she came up with - works better than the pescription I used to get. And as well as making me not depressed - it helps with other physical ailments as well. Dude. I am AMAZED.

When I first went to Denise I was in a great deal of physical pain. I was familiar with acupuncture but had not ever had it. Everything about the experience was wonderful and enlightening. The needles are very slender, and Denise has a delicate, gentle touch so most of them I barely felt. What I did feel as I lay in the comfortable, calm room was the glorious sensation of pain leaving my body. I did not expect such immediate relief!
Acupuncture is such a beneficial alternative to drugs or invasive treatments, and Denise is truly gifted in this healing art. There is nothing that compares to walking away from an appointment feeling so much better than when you went in!
Denise is an amazing acupuncturist!. It only took her three appointments to help me heal from an acute lower back pain. She is not only a very sensitive professional practitioner...She knows what she is doing.
I went to go see Denise when I had some issues with my knees, and her touch is like magic. I highly recommend her.
Denise is the first acupuncturist I've ever been to, and she instantly put my needle anxiety at ease. She's gentle, she listens thoroughly, and she has an intuitive sense for what she needs to do. She fixed issues in my body I had no idea were resolvable.
I now see her once a month, and highly recommend her to my friends.
I've been seeing Denise since February of this year, and will continue to see her for follow ups and maintenance as need be. I initially started to see her because I have a couple of issues. The first is I've had 2 hip surgeries, and due to the damp weather in SF my hips always ache. The other is because of my bad hips (pre-surgery) I was walking funny and doing so caused arthritis in my lower back. So bad hips, with a bad back = no fun. Before I made an apt with another surgeon to look at my hips again, I had decided I would just live with it - it was part of the deal having bad hips - but then I jumped on Yelp and had a friend who had acupuncture done after he broke his ankle and he swore by it. Figuring I had nothing to lose I did some research on line and found Denise. Prior to our first appointment she sent a questionnaire and at our first consult we went over all my pains and aches no matter how big or small she listened. Since February I have been to see her twice a month, and most recently I only go about once a month now. You see - since February my whole body feels amazing. My hips - they don't ache all the time, My back I can get out bed without wincing in pain. I had never done acupuncture prior to this, and I'll be honest I was skeptical, but something about the treatment and Denise make it work. She is patient, supportive, and professional and has helped me so much. I will be honest - I tried the tea she put together for me - it's tough to drink, but the good news is you can get pills if your not a tea drinker. Also - the needles - I don't even feel them. It's not uncomfortable or scary - in fact most times once the needles are placed I've fallen asleep! I would definitely recommend Denise based on my experience and the relief I've felt since beginning my treatment!
