Austin, TX
Chuy's is our favorite place to go as a family. It's one of the better places to go for dinner with the whole tribe, as they have a solid (albeit not at all healthy) kids menu, lots of great stuff for the grown-ups, and good drinks. Most any night of the week, this location is going to be packed to the gills with families out for a night on the town. We were there last weekend, and there were kids at about 75% of the tables. If you arrive after 7, you will wait quite a while. This place is busy.
The food is always great. We've been eating at Chuy's for the better part of a decade - at multiple locations - and it's never been anything but good. Can't recall a bad incident with service, or improperly cooked food, or anything of the sort. My own personal favorite is the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom, which is a chicken burrito smothered in Boom Boom sauce. They also have the best (gratis) chips and salsa in the country. Chips are always fresh and crispy (made in house) and the salsa is nice and spicy. Can't get enough. This stuff is like crack to me.
This is probably the restaurant we go to more than any other. -

Boom Boom time ...
How can you go wrong with a name like Boom Boom sauce :) I always get the chicken enchilada with the Boom Boom sauce. Also when you get the tortilla chips instead of the same old salsa you can get a white sauce which is a Jalapeno ranch salsa. The chile rellanos are also excellent. Make sure you get here early as this place is usually packed. -

I have been here many times and it is one of my Austin Favorites!
The staff is always polite and on it. We are usually seated quickly and greeted with drinks soon after. I agree with some of the other reviews and am not a big fan of the salsa but I really enjoy the ranch dip they have. I also prefer to get the queso (they have awesome queso).
I personally am a fan of the chicken fajitas. They are always cooked (and seasoned) the way I like and good portions as well. The rice can be hit or miss but I am satisfied the majority of the time. The beans, guac, and sides are great. I never seem to have enough cheese but they square that away no problem. The chicken and onions come out sizzling and its a nice, sliced piece with wonderful flavor.
The enchiladas are not bad either, not as filling for me so when I get them I also have an appetizer.
The atmosphere is loud but with the funky Austin decor, it works!! I love this place and recommend it for date night, family dinners, guests from out of town...you get the point
I really give this place 4.6 stars overall but can't do that on yelp so 4 it is. Try them out!!
Food -- 4.5 stars
Value -- 4 stars
Atmosphere -- 5 stars
Staff -- 5 stars
Overall -- 4.6 Stars -

It's time that I let Chuy's go. Twice now (at least) I've been disappointed. It's not bad... just not good. And now that I'm eating low-carb, and don't get my Mexican food fix nearly as often, when I do eat Mexican food, I want that meal to SATISFY.
This didn't.
Their chips are still thin and great. But what's with the salsa? It has become progressively vinegary. Honestly, I ate chips without any salsa at all. I've never been a fan of ranch dressing (even jalapeno-flavored) as a prelude to Mexican food.
I ordered cheese enchiladas with green chile sauce this time. While I was a fan previously of Tex-Mex enchiladas, last time the sauce tasted sweet and almost redolent of mole. Not Tex-Mex in my book.
And the cheese enchiladas were okay. Basic. Just cheese. And not enough green sauce. That's another thing.... unless I ask for extra sauce, they always skimp on it. Green chile rice was good.
Service was good (Justeen was very attentive). It's loud, as you know, even at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon. But the food...
It was okay. Just okay. And I want better.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Austin yelpers, I'm taking you to task for making me eat here.
So yeah, I was in the mood for Tex-Mex, and Chuy's has a solid reputation in Austin. I decide, after reading a few reviews to give this place the good college try. And yes, that college seems to the be University of Bland Mexican Food, Austin.
The salsa? Watery...Some taste, but watery. The Enchilada plate? Heck, it tasted like one of those "Jose Ole" frozen dinners that you can get at the grocery store. Really, it isn't very dynamic, or flavorful. If this food came from a taco truck in front of a little league game, I'd be happy. Except that it wasn't a truck and I paid a heck of a lot of money for it.
And I am not sure about those sauces. The Jalapeno ranch was sufficient but nothing impressive. That red stuff on my beef enchilada was just rank. And the rice and beans, as I said, tasted like the aforementioned frozen dinner.
I am not above slamming restaurants and giving them one star, but I give this place a whole extra star for my great service, and the fact that the restaurant looks great and is very clean, and parking was ample. I won't ever go to Chuy's again on account of their lousy food, but that restaurant is well run and nice.
It's just a shame their food frankly doesn't taste so good. And yeah, there are better places in Austin for your Mexican fix. -

That creamy jalapeño/cilantro dip. I want it every day. All day. That's all.
Noise level and eye catching crazy stuff on the walls are also very handy with a toddler. Good for kids.
Did I mention the dip? Yeah, I guess I did. -

We frequent this spot a few times a month because my fiance is obsessed with the creamy jalapeno dip and "big-as-your-face" burrito with "boom boom sauce" (don't ask). We almost always sit at the bar and almost always have sub-par service. Not last night. We've both spent ample time tending bar and in other roles in the restaurant biz, so we know what it's like to be "in the weeds" as opposed to just grouchy, inefficient, and unskilled at customer service. Charlie behind the bar was a breath of fresh air. He was busy, but friendly. He introduced himself and asked our names. Such a simple gesture that made him shine above the rest, including many bartenders at other establishments around Austin. He made eye contact, joked with his guests and made sure everyone had what they needed before anyone had to ask. Food was great, as always, but Charlie made such a positive impression that I felt compelled to give him a Yelp shout-out.
When you're behind the bar, you have an incredible--often overlooked--power to influence a guest's dining experience. It's unfortunately so common to hear bartenders whine, be outwardly bothered to refill a drink or take a dinner order, or just appear aloof and uninterested in their job. Charlie at Chuy's Arbor Trails was a refreshing change with his sense of humor, friendliness, and attention to detail. -

UGH! This was some of the worst Tex-Mex that I have eaten in a good while. I don't go to places like this so that makes total sense. However, Ricky had a gift card here so we had to use it or lose it.
The service was satisfactory, the kid did alright. But the food was just plain lousy. The creamy salsa tasted EXACTLY like ranch. The red salsa tasted like doctored up ketsup. The one salsa that was marginally acceptable was one note, flavored with too much lime.
The fajitas were fine but really, one has to be really trying to mess those up. The charro beans were thick and had no bacon or cilantro or onion. And they were piled on top of the rice in the same bowl.
My gringa pennsylvania dutch grandmother could no doubt make better Tex-Mex than what this place dishes out.
I hereby issue the following decree, that in the future, any gift cards to Chuy's that are given to us will be re-gifted to a person or persons who appreciate eating insipid slop. So let it be written, so let it be done. -

Great beard of Zeus this place is amazing! I love Chuy's! Only complaint is that this place can be crowded despite being a very large restaurant. I advise either picking a dead time (like not a Fri or Sat) or getting there early (like around 5).

(Ode to Chuy's delicious creamy jalapeño sauce, with the aid of Lady GaGa's beat to her song, "So Happy I Could Die.")
So Happy I Could Burst
Creamy jalapeño sauce
I love its taste, drenching my tongue
I close my eyes, can't get enough
And in the middle of a bite
Taste buds scream, in ecstasy
I close my eyes, and flavor ignites
Just try it, don't take my word for it
Open up your mind and your mouth to it
Just know when that bowl is empty
You may not get the chance again
Chorus:
Happy with my taste buds floating on cream clouds
Pouring through my veins and shouting bliss out loud
Eh-eh-eh-eh so happy I could burst
Chip after chip only lifting me higher
Eat enough sauce, and my mouth is on fire
Eh-eh-eh-eh so happy I could burst, bring out the hearse
I'm as addicted as can be
To other things that Chuy's has
When it comes to this, I just can't pass
And when I'm craving Tex-Mex food
This is where my money flows
Flame me all you want, but I'll still go.

Austin, TX
We start our visit with my husband sitting in a giant wet spot from the wet bottom of the tub the buser uses. 10 minutes later someone comes over to take our drink order. Not hard - water, ice tea and queso. 5 mins later we get the water and ice tea and place our meal orders. 20 mins later the queso comes out followed within a min by our meals. Really? It took 25 to put basic queso in a bowl?
Now the meal. The plates were 400 degrees. I burned my arm so bad that I have a mark 6 hours later. The food was not hot. Almost like they expected that the food would finish cooking if they put it on a hot enough plate. The flavor if the food was no better than I could at taco bell. We had chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, crunchy tacos, and chalupa. It was all bland, the ground sirloin tasted like unseasoned ground beef, the chicken was unseasoned and the cheese was so skimpy that we had to poor queso on things. Which I do recommend. I do live queso.
We finish eating and wait. After about 10 mins I am looking around to find the waitress to get the check. It is not that she was there and ignoring us, she was mo where.
We finally get the check and pay (another 15 mins) we go to the front and ask for the manager. No we know why everything is so slow. They get it from the manager. After 10 mins waiting, she comes over. We ask for an email address for corporate so we can write to them about the experience and maybe that will help them improve. She apologizes and goes to get the information. 5 minutes later she comes back with the email to their location and the cell phone of the general manager. So now I have to call this guys cell phone so that I cam get an email address.
I know chuys doesn't care what I think. They have a line out the door and won't miss me. But I am saying if you want Mexican and are in the area of this Chuys, might I suggest the mexican restaurant at the Barton creek mall, abo -

I do love me some Chuy's. The food is always delicious but sometimes the wait for a table during peak times can be nearly unbearable. The hosts are attentive and welcoming and the bartenders have never left me waiting. For the most part the wait staff has been dead on with my order, but every now and then there will be a slip up but I'll eat it just the same.
My favorite is #4 Chile relleno and an enchilada. Its not on the menu but is you like queso and a bit of spice ask for the BoomBoom sauce. mmmmm
Why only four stars? It's not the original on Barton Springs! -

Chuy's you used to be so delicious, what happened?? As soon as they expanded past the original location with Chuy in the kitchen its just never been the same. The food is so-so, not bad but not as good as you expect it to be. I am not a fan of the beans or rice.
The drinks are good and cheap, good size for the price and the chips and salsa as always are great. The servers are a little over-zealous, sometimes I almost feel harrassed, checking on us far too often, super chatty and no space bubble, while the hostesses obviously just don't care.
I'm a big fan of mexican and tex mex alike, but all in all, I'd go for happy hour or if a friend just couldn't bear to go anywhere else-but after my last few trips I don't think I'll be stopping by anytime soon. -

My little family and I visited for a friend's b-day dinner. I ordered the Chuychanga and my husband ordered the Southwestern enchilada dinner. He said that his plate was pretty good. Mine was also decent, I didn't like that they were not able to remove the cilantro from my meal. We were a party of twelve, so our food took a long time to arrive. The birthday girl was given free sopapillas. No singing, though.
I like that this area has quite a few eating choices. I'll be back to visit the area, but Chuy's will never be my first pick.
Food is ok, service is ok. Nothing special on either count. -

Went here for Happy Hour with friends and had a good time. We were seated right away which was awesome as I was expecting a short wait time.
Really can't get enough of the jalapeno ranch sauce they serve with the chips and salsa. Seriously thinking of stopping by there and requesting a large batch of green sauce and chips to go!
Ordered the stuffed avocado and it was good, a little small, but good and kinda spicy (is that how it always is?).
Because we were all there for Happy Hour we definitely took advantage and thoroughly enjoyed our fill of margaritas! -

My husband and I love the Chuy's in SW Austin. We have come to always expect a wait in the evening. Wait time is just too long for 5 stars! Love their margaritas! Prices are very reasonable! Energetic and fun atmosphere. We have eaten there more times than I can count and we have ALWAYS have really great servers and I cannot honestly say that about any other restaurant in Austin after living here for over 20 years. Best waitstaff in Austin! My rating for them would be 4 1/2 stars if I could do a half!

Chuy's is always solid. It is a large restaurant and always busy. Great margaritas and great tex-mex. I had the Baja Taco's with the white rice and re-fried beans. It was very yummy!! And my friends loved everything they tried too.
PS - They have the cutest t-shirts. -

We visit Chuys about once a month. Every other time we go, at least a couple things go pretty far wrong. Last time it was the wait. They quoted us 10-15 minutes for a table and we ended up waiting 45 and the 16 year old hostesses were unconcerned. The time before that we ordered take out and the waitress "forgot" to put in our order for 30 minutes, while we were waiting in the car outside. She was unconcerned as well.
But the food is consistent and the margaritas are good, so we return and deal with the poor service. -

Just what I wanted tonight! My husband and I tried to go a few weeks ago when my parents and their friends were in town, and unfortunately there was an hour wait so we ended up at another Mexican restaurant. I wish we could have eaten with them here, it's very Austin and the food is so good. The wait was not as long tonight, and a server came around taking drink orders while we waited. The weather was gorgeous, so we didn't mind waiting.
There were some very good vegetarian options. We started with chips and the Boom-Boom sauce, which was their veggie queso...so good. I had the veggie combo with a chile relleno and veggie enchilada--also very satisfying. Our server was really friendly and we were never waiting for anything, despite the fact that everyone was very busy. Just right for a casual Friday night. -

After flying into Austin, we came to Chuy's for dinner with our friends. We arrived around 6 PM on Thursday, and the parking lot was already packed. Unless you are patient and don't mind hunting for parking, I'd recommend using the complimentary valet.
Once we walked in, the hostess seated our party of five right away. We had a corner table and ordered drinks fairly quickly (since the restaurant was mostly full). One of our hosts recommended the frozen mango margarita, which I ordered, since who am I to pass up a mango beverage. Chips, salsa and a creamy jalapeno dressing were brought to us soon afterwards. The salsa was tasty, but the jalapeno dressing was very good. It was a little spicy for me, but my wife ate it up. And when we ran out of chips, our server (unannounced) came back with a huge scoop full to refill our bowl.
I ordered the Thursday special, which was the roast pork enchiladas, but with the tomatillo sauce, which is more mild than the standard hatch green chile sauce. My dish came with a side of Mexican rice, beans, and sour cream. The enchiladas were delicious, and the sauce providing enough of a kick for me. My wife ordered the same dish, but with the standard sauce, which I could not take.
Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere pleasant. Our server came by ever 15 minutes or so to get more drink orders or check up on us. I would definitely recommending coming here, but next time, I would like to sit outside in their outdoor patio. -

How can you not love Chuy's?! Yay! I'm a fan!
Great food - I give it two thumbs up! Not a place to go if you want to have a quite meal though.
You HAVE to try the Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas! SO good! -

The old me ate that whole chicka chicka boom boom plate (noted in original review). The new (20 lbs lighter) me can not chow down as it did in the good old days. (Wait, let me get my walker....)
When I am hitting Chuy's these days, which is often, they are accommodating my new svelteness with more skinny plates. Rather than a whole meal rife with rice and brimming with beans, I have been ordering two crispy chicken tacos ala carte. For about $7, I accomplish many goals:
1. not eating as much
2. slowing down to keep up with those who are eating that much
3. spending less
4. wasting less
5. taking in fewer calories
Win, win, win, win and win.... Color me skinny yet well fed!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from James F.
That time of year again folks; Hatch chili menu review! Late August thru mid September is my favorite time of the year for adding a little spice to your normal routine. I have to admit I haven't had my usual gusto seeking out all things Hatch; but I couldn't resist dropping by Chuy's to see what they would come up with this year. This years theme is a play on the Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Stomachs band. This location was decorated with rainbows, yellow submarines, and song references like Lucy in disguise with chili peppers.
This years menu basically plays on Chuy's strengths utilizing regular staples with a hatch twist. The one stand out I noticed was the Tilapia. I think its the first non fried fish ever at Chuys. The entree arrived sporting a huge filet of fish surrounded by a menu described Salsa Roja. Roasted tomatoes, peppers, onions, and the kick of serranos was delicious. Toss in a few capers across the top with the requisite green chili rice and borrachos and you've got New Mexico crack on a plate for $10. The wife's tacos paired Chuy's beef fajita meat with corn tortillas, diced onion, cilantro, and green chili sauce. I think the lettuce garnish was the only bites of food left on both our plates. The kiddo downed his usual order of rice and beans and colored his menu.
The rest of the limited time menu had a jack cheese and spinach queso, burrito, nachos, rellenos, and some enchilada options. Probably worth a return visit for the queso and if I had to guess I'd still get the fish. For good measure I'm throwin in a NOM NOM NOM; sorry Tom. Service and all that other stuff was fine. I'll probably return at least once before the 19th when its over and the wait begins for the next pepper fest. Thanks Chuy's for 22 years of Hatch Chili goodnessListed in: Yelp's Obligatory Tex-Mex List, The waits HOW LONG?, The Places I Go Out

The hubby and I love Chuy's. I like the Barton Springs location slightly better, but this one is still great. The food is always good and the service is excellent. We are going to try the happy hour specials today.

Not a huge fan of Tex Mex but what I do love about Chuy's is the decor. Hub caps on the ceiling, family photos around every nook and corner, and fifties style furniture give Chuy's a nostalgic feel that you can't help but fall in love with.
Chuy's was packed when we arrived so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for five but my co-workers were jazzed to have some queso and chips. I ordered the tortilla soup and chicken soft tacos while the rest of the group ordered an array enchiladas and burritos. I found my tortilla soup to be just a little spicy so I really didn't touch that, and the chicken soft tacos were yummy. Our waiter was very accommodating and kept our plate of chips and salsa full at all times. Chuy's is very family friendly so if you've got kids you won't have to worry about upsetting the table next to you. There were kids on almost every third table so you won't be alone if you've got a messy toddler who wants to throw chips all over the place.
On a side note: I ended giving my tortilla soup to the hotel doorman and he absolutely loved it! -

This update concerns service, not food quality.
I came here for a birthday get together with my friends. I had someone from my party show up early since it was a Saturday night to get on the list. We got on the list, and they ended up giving us the wrong pager so the pager went off and my whole party got up to be sat and they were like, "Oh, just kidding your table's not really ready." I was hoping that it was just a minor mishap. We had a larger party (party of 9) and the service was pretty bad. The kitchen can't seem to make all the entrees go out at once, so one of my friend's received her meal A FULL 10 MINUTES before the rest of the entrees trickled out. Our waitress had a helper server named Ryan. One of my other friend's literally got her taco salad ripped out from under her. She clearly wasn't finished eating and he rudely grabbed her plate saying, "I'll get this out of the way for you." Before you do that jackass you ask if they are done! Then, I needed a to go box for my meal and Ryan literally dropped the to go box from above my head nearly onto my lap. I've been a Chuy's devotee for over a decade now and this was by far the WORST service I've ever received here.1 Previous Review: Show all »

We usually visit Chuys and have a great experience, but tonight Chuys just let us down! We arrived and had a rather short wait, which was unexpected. However, what they didn't tell us is that we'd be seated in an area of the restaurant where the AC wasn't working well. Thinking we could deal with it, we hung in there long enough to order food, but after a few minutes of sitting in what was probably at least an 80 degree room, my husband started to feel sick. We quickly made the decision to get our food to go and take it home. Honestly, if the AC isn't working, why would you seat people in that area?! I know you want to make money, but really?! We even saw another couple ask to be reseated because they felt it was too hot as well. So as a customer is the expectation that I come in and walk around to see if the AC is running or is this something that the restaurant should self monitor?

Ahhh Chuy's, I just could never figure out where to rate you. You're famous, you are consistent, the food is good and the service is good. People are fanatical about your food and I see your shirts everywhere, some of them are quite clever. If I could rate you solely on your creamy jalapeno, aka kryptonite, you would get five stars. But in a town full of Tex-Mex food you just don't stand out above the crowd enough to get 4 or 5 stars. It took a visit to a competitor the other night to make me realize this. I will be back though as you've never let me down, but I just don't find the wait worth it sometimes.

You know, we've gotten into a rut going here and I don't know that it's a good thing. The last couple times we've been have been less than average experiences.
The service seems to have become lackluster. Not necessarily bad, but kind of sluggish. I feel like they've crammed more tables in to maximize the space, but we recently got trapped in that back area-- sandwiched between two large parties of like 12. And kind of forgotten as well.
The last time we were there, our server seemed a little out of it and really not much into doing his job. And, again, not terrible-- just not really good service.
The final straw(s)-- it was dirty. Our silverware wasn't clean and I saw a cockroach skittering up the wall next to the table behind us.1 Previous Review: Show all »

After deciding that a shopping excursion at Costco on an empty stomach would result in some pretty poor hunger-driven bulk snack purchases, I thought it may be a good idea to eat lunch at this Chuy's beforehand.
Sad to say, I had never actually eaten at a Chuy's before. I think that knowing it was the place where the Bush girls got busted for underage drinking, I had always assumed it was going to be one of those places with an extensive happy hour but ultimately a disappointing meal. Well, shame on me for for assuming.
Chuy's tortilla chips are the greatest I have ever eaten in my life. Thin, crisp, piping hot, salty.... we ate them like they were laced with crack. Three of us did three baskets before the meals arrived. And its not like they took long to arrive, we were straight up gluttons. Epic corn win.
I ordered the Monday special, chicken enchiladas in a green chile and avocado sauce. Everyone at the table tried them then directed their forks back to my plate for a second taste. Delicious, spicy and totally satisfying.
I also had my first ever sopapillas here. It was fun for the novelty factor of a new food, but to me any fried dough with cinnamon pretty much tastes like churros.
Im looking forward to trying more of their menu, or possibly just hitting them up to drink beer and eat baskets of chips all evening. -

Great place for Tex-Mex. Standard fare. Very Austin-y atmosphere. This is where everyone who comes to town wants to go. While I think there are better places in town for Mexican food, Chuy's is pretty great.
Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas are really great. And for a change, try the green chile rice, it's spicy!
Also, this place serves chips that are seasoned with crack. Well, not really, but it seems like it when you realize you've eaten an entire basket on your own. -

I have to say that we didn't start off on the best foot a couple of days ago when we came in.....but the mistakes were corrected with flying colors. The manager, I think his name is Deon, actually sat down with us to chat about his recent staff challenges. He actually cared. Seems a bit more rare than it should be; you know, Managers that care. We weren't looking to get a free meal, and I think he was surprised by that. The real deal is that we eat at Chuy's 3 or 4 times a month, as I am addicted to their Hatch green chili sauce: slightly evil, green spicy goodness.....I put it on everything when I go. My bride loves the creamy Jalapeno sauce and the Chicka Chicka boom boom enchiladas.....Their house margaritas are good as well. Nothing quite as good as a cold margarita on a hot day. It's hard to beat Chuys for price and the right combination of alcohol and good Mex.

Who knew that the new Chuy's in South Austin would be one of the hardest restaurants to get into in Austin?
The first time I came here, was 8pm on a Wednesday night and the wait was 45 minutes.
Came here on a Monday, right at 6 pm and there was an hour wait. Luckily, Chuy's does a few things right to make the wait not so bad.
* Lots of outdoor seating
* a full bar
* and free chips, salsa and queso
Once we stocked up on chips, dips and drinks, the wait was bearable and turned out to only be 30 minutes. A very pleasant surprise. The wait for the food was worse than the wait for the table. I suspect this new location still has a lot of kinks to work out.
This Chuy's is just like every other one, with basic Tex-Mex food. One of the things they do best is jalapeno ranch dip! -

Conveniently located right off the 1 highway in southwest Austin. I was taken by the interior decor, with themed rooms. Very family friendly with many kids around. Our party of two was seated immediately at 6pm on a Thursday night.
Free chips and salsa. I ordered some green chille enchiladas; I enjoyed the one with steak more than the one with chicken. -

I ate dinner in the Chuy's bar this evening. Why the bar? Well, the wait for a table (6pm on a Tuesday) was 35 minutes. I like to waste my time on the internet, not waiting for Mexican food! This is more of a family place, so seats at the bar were readily available, and you can eat a regular dinner there. The bar is very close to the nacho area, too. Nice!
This Chuy's has way more kids than the other Chuy's I've visited, but the hostesses seemed very accommodating and all the kids seemed to be having a good time. I don't have any kids, and only a tiny baby was in our party (no, we did not put her carrier on the bar), but I thought it noteworthy anyway.
The atmosphere was like any other Chuys--festive and slightly loud. The food was like any other Chuy's--standard Tex-Mex. Chips and salsa were excellent, as usual. I liked the queso quite a bit, too, especially since it was free! My friend enjoyed the beef fajitas, but the portion looked a little small for the price. I ordered fish tacos ($9), and they were okay. The tortilla seemed homemade and really fresh, and the sauce on the taco was creamy and delicious, but but there was a lot more breading than there was fish. I like meatier tacos. The rice and beans were excellent though.
Service was a little spotty. The bar was busy, but I felt like since we were sitting right in front of the guy we could have gotten our orders taken a little sooner, plates cleared sooner, a box brought sooner, etc. I felt a lot of "dead time" which meant I got to visit with my friend, but it also meant we were taking up a seat someone else probably wanted. There were some screw-ups with the bill, too. I got it resolved, but it burned some time and was a little awkward. The regular waitstaff may be better about things like that though.
Southwest Chuy's seems like a reliable choice for a family dinner. If I lived down south, I'm sure I'd be a regular. I probably wouldn't get the fish tacos though.Listed in: Mexican and Tex-Mex in ATX
