Church's has not changed at all since I was a youngin'. Basically like almost any church's chicken, it's located in the hood. And by another MLK boulevard, which to me is still Charter way. But I love this spot.
It's cheap, the chicken is good, and they got honey biscuits! I ain't really a fan if kfc or popeye's. The only other spot I recommend next to this. Is Manny's down the street.
But nonetheless church's is a southside staple. My fams worked at church's, everyone went there during high school days at Edison, and I still hit that spot up when Im back in town and on a break from school. -

Greasy fried chicken.
Not all that bad but you'll get similar and much better at popeyes. -

Hello?!?!? Did anyone say 'greasy fried chicken cravings?" I come here every once in a while ti fill my fried chicken craving and immediately follow it with a side of blood thinners and an aspirin chaser. Very moist chicken, crunchy outside..... mmmmmm. That's some good ass fried chicken. Or as my husband would say, ' that's TAMF' (tasty ass mother fucker)

The fried okra is soooo good! I tried it on a whim, and now I am hooked. Love the biscuits and mashed and gravy too! Hands down beats kfc. Kinda out of the way, so I don't get there too often, although I do feel much safer at the MLK (Charterway) store than I do at the other one. The one on West Lane (in my opinion is down right scary-don't carry anything extra when I go there-with a Check cashing store near the West Lane Store, what can one expect?

This place is so coupon happy that it's easy to overlook the extra grease and just chow down on fried chicken. I'd rank this on par with KFC but below Roscoe's and Popeye's.

church's hits the spot but the one on the south side tastes better. when you are broke as a joke, the have killer deals you can split with your roommates, im not big on legs and thighs but i'll eat them if they are from church's

Not bad chicken. Better than the KFC's in Stockton. KFC seems to overcook their chicken for some reason. The service here at Church's can be rather slow. One time I waited and waited until I got fed up and drove off. I don't know what held up the drive up so long. But their chicken isn't bad at all if you want a fast food meal.
