Everything on this restaurant's menu is delicious.
Its a small little place but dont pass it by. Go In!
They make the best tasting Shanghai noodles. The sauce is perfect.
Their shaw long boas are only 3.50, a bit smaller than other places but so good.
Their twice cooked pork is deliciously cooked with peanut butter, and other sauces that make it perfect with a bowl of rice.
Braised short ribs- PERFECT. Its cooked so that when you get it, the meat falls off the bones, it comes with a bed of shanghai bok choy and mushrooms.
They also have a really great fish casserole soup that comes out in a huge pot, gingery and piping hot at all times. Perfect for a really cold winter day.
Oh my gosh, this mom-and-pop joint has THE best home-cooked food! The prices were pretty cheap and the taste was AMAZING. I ordered the fried pork chop Shanghai style ...very very flavorful and if I remember correctly, less than $6!! And I tried their hot pepper beef with dried bean curd too. The bean curd is thinly sliced so it's just full of flavor. This place can be easily missed. So delicious!! I definitely recommend this place!
This is probably one of my favorite shanghai places in the city. Their pork dumplings (crab meat also) are one of the best - juicy and thin skinned. One of the staff is really glued to the tv, but the owner, a lady - is very helpful in recommending good things to eat. It's a very cozy little place as it's family owned but that just means it's great food!
This Shanghainese restaurant is one of THE best ones in NY. They make the best Pork Steamed Buns in NY, no joke. One order of steamed buns comes in 8 in a bamboo steamer basket and cost only $2.50 but each person can only order 1 basket and they must be eaten inside the restaurant. Other places charge at least $4 and the buns' skin is always too thick. They also make their own Thick Noodles and they're nice and chewy. I order the Shanghai Thick Noodles dish ($5.25) everytime I go and I just never get sick of this dish. However, I wouldn't recommend eating Rice Cake at this restaurant though. I've had it 3 times and all those times, the Rice Cakes were pretty tasteless. Oh and the restaurant is pretty small; fits only like 40 people and there's always a line on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
This place is delicious. Although its a small place, more family oriented, you'll get a good result for a good price. My family goes there all the time and their dishes are very precise. I'd recommend their specialty : fish fillet in seaweed batter [order first since that's fried and takes a while, hopefully not over fried], pork steamed buns at 3.50 dine in, beef with dried bean curd and chinese hot pepper, braised yellow fish in chili sauce [whole fish but there's not much fish meat, since its more the sauce], braised carp belly in brown sauce [medium size piece], shanghai thick noodles, etc.
