I can't stop staring at my engagement ring.
My fiance and I knew we wanted to custom design my engagement ring. I was looking for something vintage-style, but comfortable. A unique heirloom piece that I could pass down to our children with pride, but also a piece that I could comfortably wear everyday. I'm a tomboy, and I work a lot with my hands so the ring definitely had to be sturdy.
It was also important to me to support a local business, and to meet the person who would be crafting my ring.
Christopher Duquet has a beautiful vintage collection, which is what initially drew me to his store. But when we were finally ready to order the ring, he sat down and designed the ring of my dreams based on several elements that I liked from his existing collection. The process was really easy and instinctual, and the resulting ring is elegant, comfortable, and one-of-a-kind. The engraving is just gorgeous and I have literally been turning the ring around and staring at all the details everyday since I received it. It matches my personality and style exactly. I can't wait to come back for our wedding bands.
Villi was also great to work with and warmly welcomed my fiance and I every time we came into the shop to browse. Designing a ring is a once in a lifetime opportunity for most people, and I highly recommend this team of jewelers for an easy and trustworthy experience.
Take some time to browse their entire collection. There are quite a few pieces (besides engagement rings) that are very unique and that I can't wait to come back for. -

After an around the world search for engagement rings which took me to Jeweler's Row, the suburbs, Indianapolis, and even to a few online jewelers I found myself in Christopher's shop one early Saturday morning after a highly regarded recommendation from a colleague.
The recommendation was spot on! Christopher and his team were professionals through and through. Being fairly new to buying high end jewelery, he and his team were with me every step of the way. They were attentive during the whole process and took the time to thoroughly understand what it was that I was trying to accomplish in the design.
Christopher and his team took me through the design process, the pros and cons between white gold vs. platinum, and the selection of the perfect diamond. The end product came in within budget and was absolutely stunning. Needless to say, my fiancee loves her engagement ring.
I look forward to working with Christopher again and will be back soon to design the wedding bands. -

Christopher Duquet and his team of jewelers are serious professionals and definitely want you to be happy!
My husband and I bought our arsenal of beautiful sparklers from them starting back in 2008. After knocking out the diamond from my engagement ring in a work accident, they fixed it free of charge and secured my diamond giving me a little more peace of mind.
Even though they did this work, after 10 months I decided to alter the ring again. They were very patient with me and listened to what I wanted, and even though it would have been easier to start from scratch, they were able to take my beautiful, fantastic ring and make it out-of-this-world stunning.
I actually just picked up my ring 30 minutes ago and told them the first thing I was going to do was a yelp review :)
I am so thrilled with the service I received and would recommend them to everyone. -

We got my engagement ring at Christopher Duquet in late 2009. Villi helped us try on different styles of rings - she was so helpful and patient with us! She facilitated the process so that we could find the ring that truly matched my unique style. After I selected the setting and we brought in the diamond, the artists created an electronic illustration of how my stone would look in the setting. My fiance and I worked with Villi and the artists to adjust the setting to maximize the amount of light that would hit the stone. I LOVE my ring! Love love love!!!
We went back in 2010 to select wedding bands and again, Villi worked to make the shopping experience extra-special for us. I can't wait to exchange our beautiful rings on our wedding day. They're truly works of art. -

Really beautiful jewelry here and great service. I stopped in (and was sick and looked like crap) and still got great customer service. The guy working there was very friendly and polite to me and still spent quality time with me (which is greatly appreciated - I figured such a nice place like this wouldn't really even give me a chance but I figured that I take a look at stuff).
They do customized jewelry and also have their own particular styles. I eyed a couple wedding bands here - price was somewhat decent for the quality that you're getting. I'll probably be back again to look at some key pieces.Listed in: Sparkly bling

Christopher Duquet is a godsend. I walked in a few weeks ago looking for an engagement ring. I might as well have had an enormous neon "clueless" sign above my head. I was unshaven and unkempt, I didn't have the faintest clue what she wanted and I didn't know where to start.
Politely and patiently, the wife/husband team walked me through a variety of options. They took digital photos of the different styles so I could email them to friends and ask their advice. At no time did I feel pressured in any direction.
Later on, I discovered that the ring my girlfriend wanted was a particular Tiffany style. Personally I think Tiffany is both overpriced and unoriginal. Why buy a ring that tens of thousands of other women have as well? Well I communicated this to the Duquets and they took the best elements and created an even more beautiful ring. They specialize in one of a kind custom jewelry, so this was easy for them to do. The final ring, which they rushed out for me in a week, actually came in BELOW the price range I provided them! Talk about a trustworthy shop.
Couldn't recommend them more highly. -

Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry is exactly the kind of business you root for: fantastic service, beautiful work, and a small oasis in a sea of big, scary, corporate jewelry monsters.
Christopher made both my and my now wife's wedding rings and did wonderful work. Mine is relatively simple, but hers was designed by her (with advising by Christopher, of course) and was somewhat complicated. It turned out perfectly. He helped her work out her vision, through sketches, a computer drawing, a wax model, and finally the finished casting.
When I went to pick up the rings there was a bit of a delay and Christopher spent an hour with me just hanging out and chatting. His calming presence was just what my wigging-out self needed less than 24 hours before I was to walk down the aisle.
Before I left, he gave me good tips on care and cleaning and said we could come back anytime and for life if the rings needed some spiffing. I'll be back for that, maybe just to stop in and say hello, and if I even feel really spendy, to peruse his great selection of expertly restored vintage watches.
So sure, you could go to Blue Nile or one of the big ring shops on Wabash. You may get a better price. But if you're looking for attention, friendliness, and true artistry, go see Mr. Duquet. -

My fiance and I absolutely LOVED working with Christopher in purchasing my engagement ring! We have only great things to say about him:
1) He's really easy to talk to and has a great personality as well as a sense of humor. He educates you on purchasing a diamond and doesn't try to push one type or another. You can come in totally clueless about the Four Cs and he will walk you through it without making you feel the least embarrassed or uncomfortable. He also has a gift for feeling out what the customer wants in a ring, even if the customer doesn't know! His intuition is definitely what helped guide us to the perfect ring.
2) He focuses on making the customer satisfied. He'll address any customer want until the customer is happy. He creates a quality product and offers a quality service. His turnaround time is also amazingly fast. We had to bring my ring in for a few adjustments after my fiance proposed- we made an appointment last Saturday, met with him on Tuesday and are picking up the ring today!
3) When we were shopping for a ring we were looking for conflict-free diamonds. Most of the jewelers we came across didn't even know what "conflict-free" meant. Of the ones that offered such diamonds, Christopher was the best. He only offers these types of diamonds for fair prices.
4) His custom rings are unlike others in the Chicagoland area. When we were visiting various jewelers, one person stressed that he could copy any Tiffany style. At Christopher Duquet's no two rings are the same. They're all unique and display Christopher's creativity and workmanship. He's a true expert at his craft. It's nice to know that no one else has my style engagement ring. This would not have been the case if we had bought it at Tiffany's, David Yurman or any other uber mainstream jeweler. My boss and her fiance also designed and purchased her engagement ring with Christopher. They picked out a beautiful 14k gold ring with a unique purple gem stone. It's completely unique and fits her personality to the t.
We've already recommended him to other family members and are planning on going to him for wedding bands! -

I had no idea engagement ring buying would be this easy.
It seems as if everyone has 'a guy' or 'knows someone' when it comes to ring buying. Being new in town, I don't. All the hook ups I might have had are in the South and I wasn't going to buy a ring over the phone.
A coworker suggested that I go see Christopher Duquet, if only to learn a little more about the diamond buying process. Six weeks later I gave my (now) fiancee a ring that is unlike anything I've ever seen. Christopher exceeded any expectations I could have had for the perfect engagement ring.
Christopher walked me through the process and explained how custom designed and produced jewelry will make for a long-lasting and beautiful piece of art. The added expense of custom jewelry is worth every penny. I didn't have to hope to find a setting or a stone that my fiancee would like, I simply told Christopher what I (she) wanted and that was that. A few days later I had proofs and a few weeks after that I had the ring. It was perfect.
I'll definitely go back for my wedding bands. -

Hi Christopher...In response to your comment, first and foremost, I am not a "girl". I am a woman, and more importantly, a potential customer. If you read my review, I did not say you made me unhappy. I did not even meet with you. I met with a woman on your staff. She did not make me unhappy, either. As I already explained, the design she came up with was mediocre. I do not have my facts wrong...She told us we could choose from a vine or wheat design. We did not like either option. That was the MAIN reason we left. Maybe you need to get the facts straight with what your staff are telling customers. If you feel that being honest is mean spirited, than I guess I am mean spirited. This is the point of Yelp, to write about the good and the bad, whether you like that or not. I am not going to lie and allow you to "retain you honor" in my review, when that was not the experience I personally had. I came into your store with something specific in mind. I did not find it there. Other people might come into your store with the same desires as I had. Therefore, I am sharing my experience and where I ended up getting what I wanted. As you stated, you surely can't please everyone all the time. And in this instance, you didn't. So, if you are aware and accepting of this fact, then you should be able to handle a less than stellar review of your store and use it to see if you can improve for the next customer. This was just my experience at your store. If this is how you handle criticism, I am very glad we did not get my ring from you. If there would have been any issues along the way, I dread to think of how you would have handled it. Now your comments can be a testament to other potential customers of how they might be treated...with defensiveness and denial. Great qualities to have in a business.

When my fiance and I started the somewhat daunting task of looking for an engagement ring, I held out coming here till last. I was afraid it would be too expensive but my other half had read all the great reviews and wanted to check it out.
I fell in love.
What can I say? Walk in. You'll know what I mean in about five minutes.
We have gotten nothing but exceptional service here. It was so wonderful to not only get a ring that complemented our tastes but also to have the opportuity to watch it come to fruition. Each week, we watched our ring take form and took photos for our scrapbook. It was a memorable and exciting experience. Working with Villi was a delight and when we stop in now to have our little gem polished or tweaked she never hesitates to flash us a grin and ask how the plans are coming.
I'm complimented on my ring constantly and I cannot wait to come back to design the wedding band. If you're looking for an amazing, personalized ring and an experience to match--just stop in. It's low pressure and they'll make the entire experience something to remember. You're in good hands. -

I cannot give enough praise to Christopher Duquet and Stanley. I recently had the most wonderful experience of a lifetime designing my dream ring!!!! (too bad I'm already dreaming of another....yikes!) Christopher and Stanley were amazingly patient and accommodating with me and still smiled at me! I am very difficult and impatient....picking out the stone, the setting, the color and size of the stone, and waiting weeks for my ring seemed an eternity! And they worked overtime for me to be sure to have my ring done in time for me to take with me on vacation!!! I stared at it for hours, in awe all the way across the pond.... Their work is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. They also guarantee their work and have the same amount of love for the ring as I do. You cannot imagine the happiness a beautiful piece of jewelry can bring a woman....it definitely says "I love you forever" from my husband and I will love Christopher Duquet and Stanley forever too!!! I can't wait for another anniversary or birthday.....never enough!

I am one of the few women on Earth who does not like jewelry so when it came time to pick out an engagement ring my fiance knew it would be difficult. We decided to work with Christopher Duquet because of the beautiful examples of vintage style rings on his website and after reading the positive reviews on yelp. Well let me tell you - none of the praise has been exaggerated. What a wonderful experience.
I wanted a sapphire engagement ring so they ordered a number of stones in our size,style and price range and I chose the one I liked most. From then on my fiance took over and worked with them to design the rest. I get so many compliments on this ring. It has beautiful engraving in leaf patterns all over it and every detail is so finely done. I plan to go back for wedding bands and any other custom work I ever need. The service was wonderful as well. I can't recommend this store or the people who work there highly enough!
