What could be better than The Princess Bride outdoors by the waterfront? Their outdoor series is amazing! Next week is UP. The sausage cart nearby. And the people-watching. Always, the people-watching.
Covered arbor, proximity to Tia's/Faneuil/Aquarium/North End, boat foghorns, great skyscraper view. One of the places in Boston I celebrate. -

Nice all season park.
In spring the arbor is covered in wisteria flowers, in the summer leaves and vines create a nice shady walk, in the fall the leaves turn, and in the winter it is cover in blue lights.
Additionally, there is a small rose garden (the Rose Kennedy Rose Garden), a gated play area (helpful for keeping little ones from running off), grassy areas, and benches including some that are right on the edge by the water where you can watch the gulls and boats.
There is a water play area for kids where they can push buttons and send water up in the air. (Late spring, summer only.) Look for the round concrete area.
I saw a review that said there was a dog run. There is no dog run but people do let there dogs run off lease. The owners pay attention to their animals and I've never seen any problems.
It's a pleasant spot for a picnic or to read a book.
There is WIFI available at the park. -

Covered arbor, dog run and ample playground nestled on the waterfront between/adjacent to the harbor front and North End. Great way to turn a boring Sunday afternoon into a day:
- Go see the seals outside the seals outside the Aquarium.
- Take a stroll through Chris Columbus park, sit on a blanket, watch the boats, relax in the sun, etc. (if you are with a dog and kiddos let them frolic)
- Grab lunch at Fanueil Hall, people watch etc. Soak up the touristy goodness
- Stroll to the North End for coffee and gelato/pastry
3 hours killed, and a whole lot of Boston (albeit the corny forced bits) imbibed
In summary, just a great little park in a great little spot. -
Review from Megan M.
This park was such a highlight on my Boston vacation. It was right outside our hotel, and before we left for the airport, I sat out along the water for a little while, soaking in the sights and smells of Boston. It's peaceful, beautiful, and conveniently located to other attractions without letting the tourist vibe infiltrate this serene space.

Warm weekend days are the ideal times to get in your:
make-out
ocean gazing
squealing kid
rambunctious dog
bared skin
quota.
While not big enough for kite flying or frisbee less you clock someone in the noggin, there's a little play area for the youngsters and usually a patch of grass if you don't mind being in close proximity to amorous couples.
Station yourself safe distance from the fountain where the wind will carry some spray but not too close that your bum will be soaked from the muddy grass. Fantastic place to remember how amazing it feels to be in the sun with your shoes off.Listed in: Lazy Sundays, Green Space

Le sigh.
Can I live here? Forever?
Pinnacle of my cheesetastic romantic career:
Earlier this week, sat at sunset, black coffee in hand, just after a rainstorm, staring at a rainbow.....
I'm sorry for everyone who just vomited.
Seriously, grab your cameras, your picnic blankets, your honeys, or just your dear ones, and spend a few moments here. It's worth it.
Put this place on your Boston Bucket List. -

Cute park I walk through all the time.
The big plus about this place is it has a nice new-ish gated playground facility for the kids. Awesome. Plus bathrooms on-site. Cute little park where people walk their dogs. There's usually that guy out there playing sax. Lotta people come here to picnic for lunch and there is a distinct lack of homeless people here bugging you! Yay! -

One of my favorites areas of Boston to walk around in. Also a great place to have lunch outside during work hours (or whenever, really).
In one word: LOVERLY. -

I was reminded that I haven't reviewed this gem yet from the best lunch spots in Boston thread

Located between North End and Faneuil Hall (I discovered this when I continued walking past Quincy Market toward the sea! You'd be surprised as to how many tourist don't know about this little place), a great park to take your Volle Nolle sandwich and Boston Beanstock coffee to enjoy while watching the waters relax your mind.
I've also been here many times to sit on the benches to read and study. There's also wi-fi service around, but I don't know if it's free.
P.S. Christopher C. did NOT discover America for all of the world. It's like me walking to your house and claimed new land because I never seen it before. -

That's right, 4 stars for Yay! I'm a fan. Last time I was here there was a 50ish guy in disturbingly short-shorts and a too tight t-shirt. He was listening to the Red Sox game on headphones and loudly giving updates every 30 seconds or so. "Yook just doubled! Oh man! He's in there!" It may have been my imagination, but it seemed like there were quite a few people hovering just far enough away from this guy to avoid contact but not so far that they couldn't catch the play-by-play.
I enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine, people watching and of course stayed within earshot of the game updates. Thankfully, the guy was close enough o the playground that my kids could play and I could keep an eye on them without missing the calls. -

I like it! That's all that matters. Its a great relaxing point after visiting the busy north end. Walk over with your box of mike's pastries and find a spot to plunk down and enjoy.
Due to the proximity of all of the tourist hot spots (i.e., quincy market, aquarium etc) there are a lot of tourists, but that wouldnt stop me from enjoying my visit.
I did end up in the nearby fountain one night after a networking booze cruise, but it was awesome. I recomend playing in it. -

People watching, flowers, plenty of seating...
Just the place to enjoy a coffee, cannoli and good conversation.
I like to go here to pet other people's dogs or just relax from the daily grind.
Go, you won't be sorry. -

Just keep looking east and you will forget you're in the city.
This is one of the newer parks in the city. At least, I don't recall it being this relaxing and placid back in teenage years when they highway was roaring thru Atlantic Ave. I think this was part of the Big Dig project.
Very romantic place so it seems. I just need to find a date to prove it or otherwise! -

Wow...wish we had a park like that over here. Not only is it by the water, but it is close to everything. The pier/wharf, North, F. Hall, lots of places to eat and walk around. I was here when it was warm and sunny. Did I mention they have WiFi even?! I guess you can work here too.
I'll do lunch here next time. -

My advice: There is no better way than to go tipsy with a friend.
Swing in the playground (at night). Watch the city spark in the water ripples. Best for the calm down after a North End feast. -

I went here for (ahts) yesterday. The review of the Arts Festival is for another time (much smaller than I anticipated, but nice). Naturally, I walked through the park just to get a feel for it.
I made my way over to the waterfront, which had a lovely view and some lines for boat shuttles, I think. I could stare at the water forever. But I decided to continue on.
When I stumbled into it, the rather small rose garden kept me occupied for at least 30 minutes. Every species of rose had a distinctly different smell, and they're all in bloom right now. What an amazing half hour. :-) -

Having lunch here is a great way to break up the work day. There a many benches. Even in Boston's humid heat, the wind and water make it really make it comfortable. A great place to people watch, read and relax.

I am not responsible enough to have a dog of my own, so I am the creepy girl standing on the outskirts of the unofficial doggy park side of the park hoping that someone's dog will come over to say hi and I can pat it. It usually works. The dogs love me, sometimes the owners aren't super weirded out and give me the scoop on the dogs, like their names.

Quiet little respite overlooking the harbor in the North End next to the Long Wharf Marriott and New England Aquarium (and the Aquarium T-Stop). Kids love the well-equipped playground, water feature with vertical jets for run through, and merry-go-round across the street. Large vine covered pergola with harbor view offers shade and many many benchs for reading, enjoying a sandwich, or just vegging out. Take a 2-minute stoll around the marina to the public plaza at the end of Long Wharf for an even better view of the harbor and Logan Airport. Last...one of the best spots to view the First Night Fireworks!

I was acting in my friend's short short (movie.. whatwereyouthinking) when I first walked by this place. blah blah romantical blah. Why is everyone's review about hooking up? Okay.. so the sunset is ridiculous and so captivating that you can't help but think that it's a love letter from the heavens. But c'mon, you're too busy and too much of a commitment-phobe to entertain a relationship with a deity. And so what if in the winter the clammiest hands seem endearing and the coldest of hearts melt when you're standing on the grounds. Let's not even talk about spring. Forgettaboutit. Oh fudge. Let's make out.

My favorite place in the area to have lunch. Super relaxing to walk through or sit and chill out. There are lots of benches to sit and eat your lunch, people watch, or listen to the harbor at. Also the Harbor Walk goes right through here! http://www.bostonharbo.../ If you're looking for something with more solitude hop over to Long Wharf right next to the park!

Right in the middle of everything, this is the perfect downtown city park. There's a gated playground that is clean and safe, an expansive water view, flowers, green grass, places to sit, easy access to restaurants and free Wifi. Easy for wheel chairs to get around, too. Think of all of the things that could be here- parking lots, malls, office buildings, condos, another Legal Seafoods - and you'll appreciate it even more. Open space on the water that is accessible to everyone, attractive, and easy to find. Bring a sandwich if you work in the area, bring the kids if they need to let off steam, bring your sweetie for an evening stroll towards the North End. Don't miss this precious place. Makes me happier just thinking about it.

I live in the North End and truly love this park. There are fireworks here on holidays but it is fun on non-holidays as well. I occasionally go here on my lunch breaks just to relax. I had a picnic with friends here today actually and it was SO much fun. What an underused park. It is close enough to Faneuil Hall that it makes you wonder why tourists don't come here to eat their overpriced lunch. I am not going to advertise it though!

Boston's most romantic park is beautiful any time of year. This little spot by the water is much more intimate than the nearby Esplanade and Boston Common. Kids playing by the fountain. Bees buzzing around the flowers. Holding hands with that special someone.

Awesome waterfront park. Even if it is small, it's big enough to enjoy lunching, gazing at the water and taking in the sea air, or cuddling with your loved one. Plus, it's a short walk to Fanueil Hall and the North End. By far my favorite place in Boston.

This is such a beautiful little park that I never realized even existed until this past weekend! I would love to wander here with a small picnic, or some pastries from Mike's as Dan recommends. Or just laze around in the sun and enjoy the waterfront.

Right by the water, lots of grass and tons of cuteypie puppies! Who could ask for more? Ok, it lacks a bit of the charm of PO Square nearby, but the nice sea breeze makes up for it somewhat. There's also some funky/comfy lounge chairs around...if you can find an open one. And a playground...joy to my inner 5-year old!

It's when I look at pictures like the ones of the waterfront that I REALLY start to miss Boston. Yeah, most of the time the weather is so inhumane you can barely stand to walk by this area, but really the view is so gorgeous and the surrounding area is so well maintained, it is one of the prettiest spots on Boston. For a great date with a friend or lover, hike up to North End, grab a cannoli from Mike's or Modern's, have it wrapped to go and share with your loved one here on one of the many benches facing the ocean.

When living in the 'Ville, it is quite easy to forget, in spite of the fact that not 3/4 mile from your front steps lies the vast ocean, stretching towards infinity (or at least jolly ol' repressive ol' england). Chris Columbus (He was about 16,500 years late in discovering America) Park helps to remind one that yes, Boston is a port city, and yes, the ocean does exist, despite best efforts to hide it away.
