8 reviews for Christina's Cafe
After reading Yelper Cherine A's review raving about Christina's Cafe, I knew I had to cross it off my "To Try" list. Plus, I've had yet to find a restaurant to satisfy my need for Greek fare when I'm up north for work.
I ordered their gyro sandwich lunch special which was quite a deal. For $8 it comes with a large gyro sandwich, canned beverage, and a heaping mound of rice with mixed veggies (or fries if you prefer). For those who like a serious chow-down for lunch, they can make it into a platter for $3 more which also includes a salad. Though I'd say you should definitely expect to have leftovers since I ate only half of my lunch and saved the rest for dinner.
(Note: They do not accept credit cards for orders under $15 so if you're ordering a lunch special you'll likely need cash.)
Although I ordered takeout, the food was delicious and fresh. The tzatziki sauce is incredibly addicting. I also ordered a side of hummus and pita bread. Their pita bread was a little crispier than other restaurants, but still delicious nonetheless.
The waitress who helped ring me up was friendly and helpful. And before leaving she included a coupon good for my next visit for my choice of a free glass of wine or baklava with a $15.00+ purchase (cash only), or a free dinner with the purchase of one dinner/platter and 2 glasses of wine (cash only).
Christina's Cafe is definitely a restaurant I will come back to. And given its location I think it'd be a great place to grab some food pre/post a beach outing.
The sweetest lady ever! Christina was the only server with a couple of tables when we went, but she gave us plenty of attention and was fantastic! She told us how much she enjoys cooking and told us everything was homemade except for the beer, wine, and fries! We were shocked and she explained to us that when you love to do something, it does not feel like work. You know the food will be good with that mentality.
We ordered:
Tzatziki - 5 stars. Super fresh and addicting with warm homemade pita.
Melitzanosalata - Eggplant dip. I didn't enjoy it as much, it seemed a little bitter to me and possibly had olives, which I don't care much for.
Dolmades - Thick and bursting with rice in a tangy sauce served warm.
Avgolemono Soup - Creamy chicken lemon rice soup, very interesting!
Pastichio - 5 stars, by far the favorite of the table. Ground beef and noodles, much like a Greek lasagna. Seasoned with spices like nutmeg, wow! Super filling and comforting.
Galaktoburiko - Custard pie with honey, which I've never seen offered on other menus. Very satisfying.
Baklava - Larger than your usual variety with more flavor, possibly orange blossum?
Everything needs to try it out and support this darling restaurant!
5 thumbs up across the board!
Very nice little place, comfortable, welcoming and DELISCIOUS. I had probably the best lamb shank I've ever had in a greek restaurant here.
But most notable was the friendly service. Christina herself actually works in the restaurant and served us. She is such a nice woman and is very maternal with her customers, I really felt like I was eating at a restaurant owned by a family member.
This is sterling example of what every restaurant should function as. Thank you Christina, we'll be back!
They were having $10 specials with a glass of wine. 2 dinner specials and a coffee and baklava to split= 2 Jacksons. I love the pita, weekdays is slow and intimate. Glad I finally tried a place in my neighborhood. Thanks cherine, I can finally hit the "remove bookmark"
will return for the sequel this time I want to try the moussaka.
I have now graduated to eating here twice a week... I CRAVE that tzatziki and homemade pita. You really can't go wrong ordering it. I've also tried her rice pudding... it's delicious, and different (in a good way) from your run-of-the-mill rice pudding. I have yet to try the falafel... I've been meaning to, and I'll get around to it one of these days.
Oh, and Christina definitely knows me now, thanks to someone finding her restaurant from the Yelp iPhone application and showing her my review. She also recognizes my number on the caller ID :) She swears I've lost weight because of her tzatziki. I have Weight Watchers to thank for that, but obviously her tzatziki isn't doing any harm - I've lost 30 lbs. while eating here 1-2 times a week!

I am obsessed with their tzatziki and pita bread appetizer. It is insanely delicious. Christina… Read more »
By far one of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale! The Greek food is amazing, everything is made to order. Christina will come out and greet every table and every guest and help with any questions. The humus is great and the calamari is even better! The gyro platter can't be beat! This is a great little restaurant and definitely a hidden gem. Even if you haven't tried Greek food before, and there are also Italian items on the menu, do yourself a favor and try the best Mediterranean restaurant in South Florida!
It is a good idea to order the tiramisu when you order your meal because it will run out! All the desserts are good but the tiramisu is to die for. Christina's is so good you'll be coming back every couple of weeks!
My husband and I love gyros and hummus, so when I found this place on yelp, while looking for local spots, we decided to give it a try. I've driven by this place many times and never noticed it! The restaurant is cute. It's located right off Atlantic Blvd, east of Federal. There is parking in the back and on the side of the building. We went in and placed a to go order for gyro platters (2), an order of hummus with extra pita bread and baklava, which my husband loves. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. She tried to get us to eat in, but we wanted to get home. We decided to wait outside and enjoy the ocean breezes. About 15 minutes later, a wonderful Greek lady came out to tell us our order was ready (I think it was Christina, but I'm not positive). She was charming and told us we should come back and eat in the restaurant (we could have gotten 1 meal free if we ordered wine, which is a must for me). The price was good. The food was awesome. We had good size portions of gyro meat and pita and fries and Greek salad-yum! The hummus was tasty and the pita was homemade. My husband loved the baklava. We will be back-and we'll eat in next time Christina!
Yummy Greek food in Pompano Beach. I have to say I was well impressed and sorry that I'd waited this long to finally stop in for dinner. Christina herself is lovely and will gladly greet you and tell you the specials. The menu had a bit of everything the service was prompt and the price range was well worth it. Damn that's good stuff!
