After seeing Hamilton we wanted a night time bite. We had heard good things about Christian's Pizza.
They sell pizza by the slice and have a quiet few different types to choose from. It wasn't overly busy but they were a few other people in there from the show as well. I got a meat combo slice and my wife got a slice of cheese. We grabbed a couple of chairs at one of the window booths and waited for them to warm up our slices. The pizza was excellent! I'd have to say it's probably in my top three in the Richmond area. Nice, thin and crispy dough. The sauce was very tasty and so were the toppings.
After midnight the slices go down to $2.95. There is no better late night, grab a bite place in Richmond then this place. They had a good amount of seating inside and also some outdoor table and chairs.
I would highly recommend stopping by and grabbing yourself some of their great pizza!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danait M.Richmond, VA0614Apr 6, 2024
Food is amazing but I swear last time ordered one box of pizza I felt ripped off. The Asian lady I think she's the owner, charged me $26 for chicken parm pizza with Half side of pizza w pesto sauce and the other have regular red sauce. I asked her why she charged me $26 she said cuz pesto is an extra charge and I asked her why she's didn't tell me before cuz it's not on the menu as an extra charge. Let's do the math! Its $15.99 for plain cheese. Then chicken topping was $2; therefore that's $18.
Let's just say tax was 7%, cuz va tax is 6%. So that's $1.82.
18+1.82=19.82
26-19.82=6.18
So she's trying to tell me that she charged me $6.18 just for half of pesto sauce .
And I asked her for my receipt so that I can see the charges and she said she can't give it to me cuz I paid w Apple Pay.
Even the specialty pizza only costs $24!
She probably tipped herself!
I'll post my transaction form my bank statement. And an online order of what I got to show you that I was over charged and I'm not just tripping. According to my math if my pizza only cost me $21.99 that means she charged me 11.41% tax. So she basically tipped herself that much cuz no way half pesto sauce Costa $6.18
And the most annoying thing is sometimes when I'm studying late at the cable library I come to grab a slice and I forgot my wallet and I try to use Apple Pay and then they don't let me. They only let me when it's convenient for them. One day I'm allowed to the next they don't accept Apple Pay! So just bring your cards w u in case they're being bipolar that lucky day. They act like their doing me favor or donating charity as if I'm not paying. They're always pissed or in a bad mood when I'm there. But again I'll give credit where it's due and say food is Bomb.
I didn't want to come off stingy or annoying or hold up the line so I just let it slid cuz I hate confrontation and I felt like I couldn't do anything cuz I was trying to treating a friend to dinner.
Every time I order a box it's something sneaky like this but I just pay and am too shy to ask questions. But now it's clear she's just used to scamming me cuz she thinks I don't notice. But I do math in my head like a calculator before she even gave me the total. I'd just suggest that y'all check how much she's charging and challenge her cuz I think she's used to doing this cuz it's just us all broke college kids that don't pay attention and just pay cuz we're starving!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15196263Feb 19, 2023
Went here for a quick slice. I got the cheese and a fountain drink. I was in and out, no problem.
The cheese was a little oily for me but I dabbed it with a napkin and kept eating. The sauce wasn't too acidic or too much. I would come back if I just wanted pizza by the slice!
p.s. I wish they had a veggie slice option.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicole L.Springfield, VA021Mar 5, 2024
Usually I would leave a great review because their pizza really is good, but the customer service we received was atrocious. We ordered a cheese pizza topped with fresh mozzarella and Canadian bacon and there was no cheese on it. When I called, the woman who works there argued with me that the mozzarella was the cheese even though it was just a topping. When we brought the pizza back in to get a new one with cheese on it this time all they did was throw cheese on top of our pizza and recook it. When I asked for the manager I was told she'd be in today and when I called today I was told she wasn't there but she'd be in tomorrow. This entire experience was completely unacceptable.

Top Richmond establishment to go before heading home after a night out. There are a ton of pizza options to choose from but I usually get the $2 cheese or pepperoni option with some ranch. In addition they have a extra cheese, red pepper flake, and oregano station to add to your liking.
Depending on what time you go be prepared to wait in a long line. If it's during the college academic season the place will be filled with college students on Friday and Saturday nights with a line that goes almost out the door.
This is one of the only places that will be open at 3am where you can get food and that is why Christian's is one of my night pizza go to.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maria D.VA, VA03452Nov 21, 2023
Don't go when it's super late because yes it is cheaper but you will be standing in a line for like 20+ minutes and then waiting another 10 mins for your slices. I always go mainly after a night out. I don't think I've ever gone there without having been somewhere prior. The weekends are the most packed. Lines out the door. The pizza can be good but it really depends.

The pizza was okay, but not the best. However they did have really good options for whatever your in the mood for. It gets very crowded late, however after the prices aren't bad at all.

I always get Christian's chicken parm pizza and their pesto tortellini pizza. Their pizza always tastes amazing alongside their Homemade Ranch Dressing. Truly an RVA/ VCU staple. Their late hours/ deals are what keep the community going

Four stars only because there were too many sticky/wet/red sauce stained surfaces, even with it being after midnight. But the two ladies behind the counter were working their arses off, so no complaints there.
Having said that... wow. I find most pizza places in VA to have decent imitations of NY-style pizza but just that: decent imitations. Christian's, however, whoa! They had 7+ mouth-watering pies for review and you can get a slice(s) from whichever pie adding whatever topping you want.
Their beer/soda selection is limited (but unusual), and I ain't there for the wine list.
When the slices came out of the oven, they had that near-volcanic feel, the crust was actually toasted and almost hard. The fresh smell overwhelmed me so I took a bite. I'm overwhelmed by the flavors, the herbs and spices, and the roof of my mouth burning away.
But it was DAMN good pizza - go and enjoy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ellie T.Upper Shockoe Valley, Richmond, VA12495Jan 8, 2023
A richmond staple. The slices are huge and cheap and even the huge pizzas are pretty cheap. Definitely worth it.
