Read some good reviews on yelp and also the Housewives of Atlanta came here on one episode...
The banana chocolate cake was surprisingly good. I'm usually not a fan of this particular mixture of ingrediets but it was the perfect balance of sweetness and not-too mushy texture.
Red Velvet - in my opinion better than Sprinkles in LA! (since it's not overly too sweet)
Carrot Cake - can't go wrong in my opinion. Pretty standard on this one and nothing too special.
Ok...I am ashamed and must admit I heard of this place last year on housewives of atl. I went and loved the place. So serene and full of beautiful shades of brown and light pink. I love the seats and the intimacy of the place.
Once when i ordered from Zifty i ordered the cheesecake from Choc pink and knew i had to go visit the place for myself.
I had the apple frangipane tart. I loved it! it was a little of the dry side though. i guess the dryness of the cinnamon made my mouth dry. But it was delish.
the key lime tart was good as well. a little too rich and overwhelming for me.
the pink lemonade cupcake was pretty good. kind of subtle compared to everything else i tasted.
i tasted all of the petit fours. my fav was the raspberry hibiscus. YUM-MY!
If we had half stars, I would rate Chocolate Pink a "3.5".
This rating is for the cupcakes, because that's all my friends and I tried. At my office (and I guess in life overall), I have developed a bit of a reputation as the Cupcake Girl. As in, I love to eat them and I've also become fairly proficient at baking them. The fact that I can bake them is making me increasingly picky as a reviewer.
Anyway, because of the aforementioned "Cupcake Girl" designation, when one of my co-workers got a $35 coupon for Chocolate Pink, she decided to invite me and 2 other co-workers to join her there.
Here are the cupcakes we sampled, and my thoughts.
Peanut Butter and Jelly - I recently made peanut butter and jelly cupcakes for the first time, and I actually liked mine better. I thought Chocolate Pink used too much jelly in theirs (and my co-workers agreed. Also, I would have preferred a thicker texture to the frosting (more peanut buttery), which is how I made mine. But that's personal preference.
S'mores - The cake part of this one was REALLY dry. We think that was an intentional stylistic decision, in order to make it more graham-crackery, but I'm not sure I agree with the choice. The marshmallow topping was yummy, though.
Coconut - I hate coconut shavings, so I only took a small bite of the cake part. The cake was VERY moist, but almost too sweet.
Cookies and Cream - This was good but not great. The cupcakes with a vanilla/white cake base were all on the dry side (but I know from personal experience that it's pretty tough to make a moist vanilla cupcake). Still, I can make a kickass vanilla cupcake so I am unsympathetic.
Dulce du Leche - This was my favorite of the bunch. The caramel was rich and delicious without being too sweet. And the ratio of caramel to cake was perfect.
Mochaccino - The cake part was a bit dry, but the mocha/coffee frosting was delicious. This was probably my second favorite cupcake.
Chocolate Fudge - This was a little too cocoa-y (as opposed to fudgy) for my taste. But it was still pretty tasty, and I liked the texture.
Pink Lemonade - I'm going to be picky about this one because I can make a mean pink lemonade cupcake. Chocolate Pink's interpretation is a lot different from mine. They used lemon curd in the middle, which was kind of nice. But I would have preferred more pink, and a more lemony cupcake.
Red Velvet - I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I am picky about red velvet, and they ALMOST got the texture right. I've had better cream cheese frosting, though.
Carrot - This was another pleasant surprise. The cake was REALLY moist, and I like the fact that they chose not to taint it with any nuts or raisins (I will never understand why people think that nuts and raisins belong in cake, or really in desserts at all).
All of the cupcakes were beautiful to look at. So if I were rating based solely on presentation, I'd give Chocolate Pink a "5". But the taste and texture weren't on par with what I've come to expect. These guys can beat me on some of the accents and details, but I can make tastier cupcakes than this. And SugarMama, Mattycakes and Star Provisions all WAY outshine Chocolate Pink in the cupcake arena.
(Also, I have the sneaking suspicion that they are using shortening in their frosting and fillings instead of butter. I'm just never fully okay with that.)
My final complaint is the price. Please note that I no longer even bat an eyelash at dropping $3 a cupcake. But these seemed small for cupcakes at that price, and the quality just wasn't good enough to win me over at that price.
It was fun trying all of those cupcakes though! So the promotion itself was a win. Well, sort of... maybe not, because I'm not sure I'd go back there when I can get better cupcakes elsewhere.
I have sampled their brownies, cupcakes, and pastries. All of these items not only look pretty, but they taste delicious. With the exception of Henri's Bakery, this is an amazing place to go to treat your mouth. If you try their treats, plan to spend some time on the treadmill, but it is worth every bite.
Their cupcakes suck!
They are too small, too dry and nothing special! I got 3 different kinds just to be sure, since i was craving some yummy goodness, but overall I was pretty dissapointed. I'll just stick with piece of cake next time!
We had a $35 "gift card" to Chocolate Pink courtesy of http://Groupon.com and finally made our way there this past weekend. With $35, we could sample quite a few of their cupcakes, and one of their tarts as well. Overall, we were quite impressed with Chocolate Pink, both in terms of their variety of cupcakes, and (most importantly) with how they tasted.
Let me see if I can remember this correctly...we had many of their every day cupcakes: Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream, Dulce de Leche, Carrot, & Moccachino plus a few others not featured on their menu (e.g., S'mores). I must say that my wife and I both really enjoyed most everything in our box. For the most part, the cupcakes were wonderfully flavored. Many come with a surprise filling inside to make the flavor more intense, and help the cupcakes 'pop'. The cupcakes were also very moist, if not a bit dense as well. In fact, that was really my only over-arching complaint about the cupcakes at Chocolate Pink -- they were perhaps a bit too dense for my liking. They weren't dry (which is a much bigger offense to me), but I do like my cupcakes a little lighter in texture than these were. I found this to be true of ALL of their cupcakes, so if be warned if this isn't your cup of tea.
In terms of specific cupcakes, we loved the taste of everything we ordered, save for the s'mores cupcakes. They looked so pretty and were very promising, but I found them to be very dry, and not very evocative of s'mores. All the components were there, but the proportions were off, and it just didn't work. My wife agreed -- a relatively disappointing cupcake. In the end, my personal favorites were the Carrot (nothing overly special, but I like it that way) and the Moccachino.
All in all, not the best cupcakes I've ever eaten, but still darn good (darn great, actually). The variety and overall flavors more than made up for the overly-dense texture. Definitely work a trip if you've never been.
This place is no where close to Georgetown Cupcake in DC but it's good.
We went on a Friday night after dinner to grab cupcakes to go. The presentation is awesome! The taste is "good".
I also wanted to try to mini-cakes and the truffle chocolates but I thought both were a little too pricey.
Also, I'm glad we were not dining in because it was sooooo COLD in there!
oh yeah, the service was excellent and the girls working there were very friendly.
A chocolate lovers heaven, a dieters hell.
This place is a delightful find on juniper. Their personal sized cakes are incredible, their coffee is not bad, and the overall atmosphere in the place is inviting.
The staff is very friendly and attentive, and I've found their recommendations to be spot on.
It's a great after dinner date spot, or an afternoon treat for yourself as well!
Not sure how parking etc works for it, because it's walking distance from me.
So before I write this review, I suppose I should first state that I'm not a baker by any means. I can bake, but it's not my specialty/favorite.
So I convinced a buddy of mine that was in town that I should drag him along to some bakeries that I had to visit around the Atlanta area. Our first stop happened to be Chocolate Pink, which btw, isn't easy to spot unless you know exactly what the sign looks like.
We apparently happened to walk in during some kind of photo shoot, as there were camera equipment all over the place. We instantly felt out of place. i felt like I had walked into some kind of yuppity Euro-bakery where my style of dress immediately clashed with the interior decor. Anyways, aside from this, the food was good.
The {research item} was sinfully delicious, and almost too rich for my tastebuds. We also ordered some of their specialty, fresh-brewed iced tea. I will say that unless you are a tea connoisseur, don't waste you money on the 8 fl oz of pale-flavored iced tea (esp if you're a true southerner where your tastes are geared more toward the sugar).
Give this place a shot, however the inside didn't feel comfortable (unless that style of decor is up your alley) , and the service seemed indifferent to us.
Beautiful cupcakes, but for those who are serious about sweets from Magnolia to Sprinkles, you may find the actual treat a little dry and pricey. I also don't like the "fun size". KING SIZE ME, bitches.
I only went one time and the Norman Love chocolates look divine - each is a work of art. My dessert (the names escapes me at the moment), was slightly too sweet in my opinion, but that thought crossed my mind when I ordered it so I could be more of the problem here. My after dessert coffee was very nice. I don't have much else to say. It's a small, boutique dessert shop selling nice desserts. if this place were in a better location, with better parking - it would be filled every night.
I'm making a concerted effort not to drool on my keyboard as I type this review. Just thinking about this place makes my mouth water. I love sweets, so it's only natural that I love Chocolate Pink.
I've never been able to try their pink lemonade cupcakes, but I'm dying for the chance. I adore their fleur de sel caramel, apple frangipane tart, and petunia mousse cake, not to mention the little handmade chocolates they always have on the top shelf. Plus, the server is always oh-so-patient as I debate my next indulgence.
Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually not a crackhead. I am most certainly a sugarhead, though, but I blame it on my mom who ate sugar by the spoonfuls when she was pregnant with me.
If sugar is your crack as well, I highly encourage you to hop over to Chocolate Pink soon - very soon. You can't go wrong with anything here. Just pick whatever tickles your fancy that day and go with it.
Much like other addictions, this will not be easy on your wallet. Two desserts and two drinks will be around $25 - $30, including tip. I can totally vouch for their worthiness, though, and I'm highly critical when it comes to value, believe you me.
A great place for a date, after-theater dessert run, or a girls' night out.
Four and a half stars.
I hesitate in my rating for this place.
Service was a beeyotch. Actually, just the girl behind the counter. She was extremely rude, in a plastered smile way. She is the ONLY REASON I'd rate the place 2 stars.
And $3 for an itty bitty cupcake? That's a little ridiculous. Actually, it's a lot ridiculous. BUT, at least they were yummy, but for $3 a pop they should be. We tried 4 of them: the mochaccino, carrot, pink lemonade, and coconut. The mochaccino was my favorite - the silky coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache are to DIE for, and it wasn't cloyingly sweet. The perfectly balanced cupcake. The carrot cake was good too, but the cream cheese buttercream was a little on the sweet side. My sister's fave was the lemonade cupcake, and our least fave was the coconut. It was too sweet.
All in all, this is a cute place for a date or a girls' night, but I don't think I'd frequent it for my cupcake fix. Just be sure to get your cupcakes early or else they'll run out!
After seeing the pictures of Chocolate Pink's food on television, I had high hopes. I wish I could at least give CP four stars but I can't. I love cupcakes, so I was really looking forward to this experience. The first thing that disappointed me was the lack of seating. There was a private event upstairs, so we only seemed to be able to have an option to sit downstairs. There was not a lot of seating and there were quite a few people there, so I was concerned we would not get a seat. We did get a seat, but, when we sat down, maybe only one other table was available.
We had cappuccino, cupcakes and hot chocolate. The carrot cupcake was absolutely the best - moist and fresh. The icing was perfect - sweet and thick. The red velvet cupcakes were good - but not worth a special trip. I know better red velvet cupcakes exist somewhere. The dulche de leche cupcake really wasn't great at all. It didn't taste fresh and was kind of dry actually. That was quite disappointing because initially, that caramel on top looked good! But all that glitters is not gold...
The decor here is cute and girly - overall, it is a nice looking place. If I were in the area and I craved a dessert, I might stop by again for a carrot cupcake, but I didn't think it was worth the trip from my side of town.
Cute place with mostly individual pastries & tarts for $7-8 and cupcakes for $3. The lady who works here is really nice, and great about explaining each of the desserts.
My friend & I decided to share the "Fleur De Sel Caramel" and the "Apple Frangipane." The Fleur De Sel Caramel tasted more like pecan pie than it's chocolate-looking appearance - good but a little too heavy for me. The Apple Frangipane on the other hand - man, that was a total surprise. The lady who works here highly recommended that dessert so we got it but honestly, it looked like your ordinary boring-looking apple tart. HOWEVER that was one amazingly surprisingly really very good apple dessert - I think it was the white chocolate almond cake that won us over since both of us love almond flavoring. Just goes to show that looks can be deceiving - but in a positive way, too.

5 Stars! I think Chocolate Pink is Fantastic!!! The presentation is great and cupcakes are just mouth watering!
Yes, I have a problem. Went to the b.f.'s for lunch today and driving back to work, stopped in Chocolate Pink. Had the carrot cake & the cookies and cream. Seriously? Seriously. Both were the bomb. The cookies & cream was a plain vanilla cake w/ icing made with ground up oreos. SO good. The carrot had cream cheese icing (much better than the one on the red velvet for some reason) and the cake portion was incredibly moist.
Definite thumbs up, although, it's super expensive. $6.50ish for 2.

Ate the red velvet. Didn't love the icing, but enjoyed the cake part a lot more than other spots I… Read more »
After hearing and reading all these rave reviews about Chocolate Pink, I decided to go to check what the hype was all about. Cafe-wise, I expected the place to be lavish and big, but it was a lot smaller than I thought. Simple, yet modern interior. I haven't been to the 2nd level - perhaps it's bigger there.
I ordered two cupcakes, which were a lot smaller than I thought. Pink Lemonade was delicious. The lemon custard inside was a great touch. The cookies and cream cupcake was, however, mediocre. One friend ordered red velvet cupcake, which she said was significantly dry. Caramel apple cupcake, despise its mundane appearance, tasted pretty good, according to another friend. For about $7.00 for two cupcakes, they were just alright.
I will be back at Chocolate Pink (maybe) - not for the cupcakes but to try the individual tarts.
The biggest thing going for Chocolate Pink, as is the case with many other 'specialty' establishments in Atlanta, is the fact that they are somewhat the only game in town. While there are other bakerys offering desserts, CP is one of only a few that really target the high end trendy sit down specialty dessert cafe. That being the case, I think it gets heralded as being great mostly from a lack of context and viable comparisons.
From a taste standpoint, the treats are good...not great. So when your paying $3+ for a single bite bon-bon, you halfway expect your pants to blow off or have an out of body experience. Instead you feel dissappointed and maybe a little ripped off.
Ladies, I know you love your sweets, but there are much much better places. Feel free to like the place, but to make it sound like it's the end all be all of confectionary concoctions is a little naive.
Rightly or wrongly, I think many of these specialty shops and 'markets' take advantage of the fact that many Atlantans want to appear cosmopolitan, but have no real reference to what that is. They know specialty stores and cafes are all the rage and commonplace in other major cities, yet have never experienced them first hand. Just because you market something as being unique and good doesn't mean that it's so. High prices may make you think that it taste better, but that's just your brain telling your tastebuds it needs help rationalizing the $9+ you just spent on dressed up candy you could have gotten at a third the price.
I haven't actually been to the Chocolate Pink location. I've just done happy dances in my pajamas shortly after its delivery.
Had a run in with some road rager in traffic? Get the chocolate fudge cupcake. Pop it into the microwave for only a few seconds to intensify center gooeyness and forget all about I-75 construction. Delicious.
Is your coworker getting on your last damn nerve but you can't bring yourself to do anything other than leave a passive aggressive Post It note on her monitor? Nothing summons the "coworker, who?" like the Pink Lemonade cupcake. Oh yes, so good.
Is your crush sending you mixed signals and ambiguous texts that you can't be bothered to decipher? Rx: Outrageous Brownies. Ridiculously rich.
There's an adorable dessert for every crisis and dilemma. Obviously, eat responsibly. Obesity isn't cute. But itsy bitsy little cupcakes sure are.
Again, I've only had their delivery items. I'm saving that potential 5th star for an in person visit.
Was excited to find late nite desert place but very disappointed to find there was no place to sit on a Friday night because there was a party in the upstairs dining room. To be expected I supposed but due to the challenging parking I doubt I'd try again. We got our desert to go. The German chocolate cake was moist and delicious. $7 each for 2 slices-rather pricey for take-out.
Ordered different things this time.
- Petunia
- Cheesecake
- Buttermilk Fudge
- Some kind of chocolatey thing with nuts, served slightly warm
I don't know. Those little cakes just are not good. It's... almost good, but then you realize something is missing and then you wonder why you didn't go to that other bakery instead.

When I went to Chocolate Pink I was two weeks into a chocolate-less frenzy. I.e., a bar of Hershey's… Read more »
A little pricey, yes. However I think it is a great spot to take a date after dinner or even a group of friends after a night at the Fox. It's just cute. The treats are tasty. I say drop in for a fun dessert! Enjoy!
This will actually be two reviews in one...sort of.
I personally would give Chocolate Pink 3-stars, but this is coming from your average guy that likes ice cream or milkshakes as a dessert with nothing fancy. The look of the place is awesome, the neighborhood is nice, and the desserts are nice looking and pretty tasty, but I personally have had better.
From my fiancee's standpoint, this place gets 5 stars (hence the 4-star rating). She's an absolute dessert/pastry fanatic, and always loves to find the hole-in-the-wall or little street cafes for their different treats, regardless of size. She's also adventurous when it comes to taste, and loves to try different things, so this is right up her alley and yours too if you're into pastries and small desserts. Her favorite are the Pink Lemonade cupcakes, which I'll admit are pretty cool (they taste EXACTLY like pink lemonade).
A few things to consider:
- this is NOT a bakery. It is a pastry shop. Some reviewers have knocked it down because they were expecting a bakery. Look at the title. Pastry Cafe....jeeze.
- this place is PRICEY! If I were getting a full set of cupcakes or pastries for some of the individual prices I would be okay, especially given the size! Most of the cupcakes you can fit 3 to 4 in the palm of your hand! Midtown Manhattan prices in Atlanta are not cool to me, but having been in college in New York years ago, it gives me that throwback feeling to go to places like this.
Definitely worth a look - if you're into pastries and aren't scraping by paycheck to paycheck, you'll probably love it. If you're looking for a "bakery" for full-size cakes and stuff...well, next time actually read the menu before you start talking trash!
I find Atlanta to be a weird place. Driving, nothing, driving, nothing... BAM. Cuteandcuddlypinkbakery.
We stopped by Chocolate Pink for a pick-me-up in the form of tea, chocolates, and a coconut cupcake. The cupcake was decent, a little dry, but delicate and flavorful. The chocolates are TBD, but there were only three (rather odd) flavors when I was there (right after the holidays). This made me incredibly sad at first, but not so much when I realized how astronomically expensive they were.
If you eat in, the baked goods are served to you on nice plates with cute liquid garnishes of caramel, raspberry puree, etc. The caramel sauce with the cupcake was delicious, and strangely (and sadly) enough, the highlight of the experience.
Cute, but not worth the price tag. Not even close to my favorite bakeries back home. Rating may be adjusted after I try the chocolates...
Great, Great food! The fleur carmel, or something to that ring. They all look beautiful. I have been trying to be good and have not had anything else yet from them other than a sample of the red velvet cupcake and a bite of the pumpkin cheesecake. I love going there for espresso, and am so glad they got soymilk finally! It is generally pretty quiet, especially compared to starbucks and carribou near here. Never super crowded like those two places and it is a LOCAL company- support local economy folks!!
Also, the girls who work there are always super nice and they bring your drink to the table for you along with the sweets you've selected. Try them out. Even if you don't like the desserts, like some of these people on here, support local economy by heading over there for your coffee rather than the corporate giants.
Not sure how parking works there since I live about 1 block away and just walk on over for my delight.
I went to a bridal shower there last month. The atmosphere was cute! I loved it...a bit small but cozy. The shower was great and the server in the event room was okay. Her personality could have been a bit better. I tried the caramel something or other. You know the cupcake with a big glob of caramel oozing out of the middle. Blech. But I am not a caramel fan. I had a fudge brownie. Blech. My homemade brownies have much more awesomeness than that. Fudgy...I think not. Dry... I think so! The cake was blech too..and I don't even know the name of it. I just know it was chocolate and I love chocolate so go figure. The best however was the red velvet cupcake. OMG!! That would probably be the only thing I ever get from this place if they ever see me again. But I doubt it.
Finally I headed down to chocolate pink...the weather was nice to I strolled down to the cute little bakery!!!
I got the chocolate fudge cupcake!! My cupcake came a little heated up with cold fudge..yeahh it was def different and I think the only word I can describe the taste of this cupcake was HEAVEENNNNN!!!! It was sooooooooooooo good! I am a cupcake lover and in my opinion, they have the best cup cakes!!
The staff are really friendly, the mini hand made chocolate looked soo yum..can't wait to try it. I ordered a cup of water....and the lady asked me if I wanted a to go one too since she knew I was headed out to the lovely humid weather....kuddos to her...I loveeee this place ...the best part is that its soo close to my place...hmm maybe that isn't that great a thing...hehe..anyways its def my close to home awesome cupcake place :) Yay..I am deff a huge fan and been in heaven ever since :D
Great place to take a date.
Simple and sweet.
When you go inside The Chocolate Pinck Pastry Cafe they take care of you. They made sure me and my guest felt comfortable. You pick out small bites of pastries and they put it on the plate and dress it up all fancy. The pastries are enough to feel satisfied but wanting to try a new one everytime. Go here if you want to do something different. I wouldnt go if your trying to get full off desserts.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that CP served Illy coffee along with their delicious deserts. My only problem is that they are a little bit pricey and sometimes the servers aren't very effective. Other than that, great place to go with a friend or a lover!
When I dream about Atlanta, I'm usually driving to Juniper St., and I am always lucky to find a parking spot on the quiet side streets. Then, I briskly walk to Chocolate Pink Pastry Cafe, and once inside, I take my time to contemplate what I love the most in my life: cupcakes and chocolates.
Sometimes my dreams frolic in a moist, delightful Red Velvet cupcake, sometimes they do in the lush, dense coconut syrup that plays the heart of the cupcake named after this delightful fruit...sometimes, my unconscious feature my taste buds moaning to the touch of the silky chocolate contained in the Venezuela truffle.
All these oneiric events are always sprinkled with coffee, good coffee.
Chocolate Pink Pastry service is as sweet as its contents. The owner, though, is a little dry. Unbelievable for a place like this. If I were her, I'd be a princess in her castle, pretty much singing arias all day and getting plump and rosy by the hour. What a poetic pattern!
I love moist dreams. I love sweet dreams.
OK - I do hate this whole overpriced cupcake phenomenon. I mean, they are good but they are so pricey. And, they are not even that big.
So, anyway. I went for my workout walk in the park and, for once, I had money with me so I stopped at Pink Chocolate on my way home. When I first entered, no one was around to assist me. I actually considered leaving in order to preserve the workout's effects but I stayed.
They had lots of lovely desserts but I zeroed in on two particular cupcakes that sparked my interest. I am not a huge chocolate fan so a lot of the desserts did not appeal to me. But, the banana cream and the pink lemonade cupcakes were calling my name. So, I ordered one of each and took them to go so I could share with my friends (this is how I can justify eating cupcakes after working out). They were placed in a lovely little box and I paid my $7.00 plus tax for two cupcakes.
I split the cupcakes into quarters and I was immediately impressed with the pudding-like filling in each. The pink lemonade appeared to be a standard cupcake with a little bit of icing but, when sliced open, it also had a filling of lemon pudding. It was great. The banana cream cupcake had a cream cheese icing with sprinkles of pie crust, and a banana-bread-like texture, with banana pudding filling. Again, great.
So, the cupcakes were indeed pricey but I do appreciate that they each had a filling and were very delicious. But, still? Very pricey.
I didn't try their other desserts so I can only comment on the cupcakes, but I think I would return. Cupcakes with filling definitely take more effort than I would go through to make, so I see some justification here. And, the staff was very nice.
I have never been to Chocolate Pink and took a chance in ordering a cake and cupcakes from Chocolate Pink for a birthday party. I have had their cupcake at a friends place and loved them. So, I decided to order the Dark Chocolate Truffle Layer cake (we're chocolate lovers) and pink Lemonade and red velvet cupcakes (for non-chocolate lovers). The desserts were a HUGE hit at the party and I'm sure chocolate pink will be getting some more foot traffic now from all our guests!
We stopped in at Chocolate Pink on a fluke last week. We finished some Sushi at Nickiemoto's, but still had like an hour before trivia started, and were craving a little something sweet. I remembered that interesting-looking pastry place up the street, so we took a stroll.
Three words: Life. Changing. Deserts.
We each ordered one of their individual deserts. I asked the woman working the counter which her favorite was, and I went with that: the Fleur de Sel Caramel. It was dark, complex, both sweet and savory, rich, and an amazing balance of sweet and salty.
Brandon ordered pretty much the polar opposite -- a strawberry tart. A vanilla tart crust with vanilla pastry cream, and fresh strawberries. It was so light and fresh, it was almost weightless. A great contrast to the deep flavors of the caramel.
Their sugar-based crack doesn't come particularly cheap, at around $7 for an individual desert, but that's pretty much on par with what you'd pay for something of this quality in a restaurant.
I recently hosted a bridal shower event at Chocolate Pink. After reading the many reviews on how cute the place was for this type of event, I made an appointment to view and was sold on the spot. The space really sold itself...it is located on the second floor of the pastry shop which are both really cute, quaint and nicely decorated. At the initial meeting with the event coordinator and discussing the availability and fees, she said she'd be in touch within a week of my event. I reached out to her a few times before the event to square away the bill in advance and each time there was no prompt response. I left a message for her a week before the event as I was interested in placing an order for decorative cupcakes and maybe some other sweet treats and heard nothing. Finally three days prior to the event, she called and left a message that I met the deadline to order sweets from Chocolate Pink for my event. I retrieved and returned the call within 10 minutes and left her a message... Never heard back from her. Our cupcakes came from a local competitor, Sweet Pockets, due to her unavailability. When I arrived on the day of, our event coordinator was eager to advise me of the outside catering fee due and of course, that she was there to help with any of my needs. My guests enjoyed the event and adored the location. I was a little disappointed with the role that the event coordinator played in my event. It seemed the only thing she coordinated was the payment for the space which again sold itself. The experience with Chocolate Pink was not very personalized. I would rent the space again because it serves the purpose and comfortably accomodates a gathering of under 40 people...I would just do it with the expectation that space is all I'm paying for.
I have had a few of their cupcake options and was very pleased with the red velvet, coconut and carrot cake cupcakes...moist and delish.
Chocolate Pink...why do you enjoy destroying the countless hours I spend at the gym and why oh why are you so darn expensive! Seriously, it's like shopping at Prada and only being able to purchase 1 half of a sock...or maybe just the shopping bag to put my H&M stuff in!
*sigh* The dessert is good though! My favorite is the signature Chocolate Pink cake and the little chocolate peanut butter truffle! Mmmm! The cupcakes are good too although 2 for $7.00 is a hefty price for such a small piece of heaven. I think a twinkie is bigger than the cupcake! Today I had the Lavender Honey and the Banana Cream. Both were so full of flavor, it was eating like a bag of Doritos...you can't just have one!
I love that they serve illy coffee! Once it gets a bit warmer outside, you have to try the iced chocolate biscotti. It not only sounds, but taste sooo good!
The service is always great and thanks for staying late on the weekends when I need a quick dessert before or after I go out! Be sure to check out the party space on the second floor! David had my birthday here last year and it was very nice!
There is better than the Chocolate Pink Pastry Cafe. I had their Key Lime dessert which was way overpriced, and way too tart. The crust was very good, and if it wasn't for the crust the $7 key lime round would have been thrown away...and I never throw away a key lime pie!
Interestingly enough, at the time I was there they also had a brownie contest between Pink Pastry, Southern Sweets and Alon's. On their home turf, both my wife and I rated Pink Pastry's brownie last.
Their chocolate may be great, not sure, but this place isn't worth its insulting prices.
YES!!!! Finally! I get to go to Chocolate Pink tonight!!!! yay!
I have been trying to get down to Chocolate Pink Pastry for a few weeks now and this weekend would propose the perfect time to go. I always say, when it's your birthday, you should always eat dessert first. Because who wants to fill up on a big dinner and not have room for birthday cake, or dessert?!?!?!.................not me! That's for sure!
Plus, I had a 25% off coupon from joining their mailing list and it just so happen to be my girlfriends birthday so why not go.
The place is super cute and super fancy. Their display cases are filled with the most gorgeous desserts I have ever seen. Seriously, it was edible art you guys. Chocolate Pink is some what of a small dessert cafe with a few tables and on this night they seemed a little busy. There were only 2 young ladies working that night but seemed to be doing very well. At one point they looked a little overwhelmed but handled the rush and themselves very gracefully and with a pleasant attitude. Then again, they do work in one of the city's most beautiful dessert cafes, so it's probably in their blood to be sweet.
We picked out 2 desserts to try and ordered a cup of coffee to share. Then we saw their painted chocolate candies case. WOW!!! they are the most gorgeous things I have ever seen! Almost to pretty to eat. Pricey! but pretty. Since it was my girlfriends birthday I let her pick out a selection of 5 candies to take with us. We sat down, had dessert and coffee and took in all the beauty the cafe had to offer. Every one was so nice and you could tell they all enjoyed being there. It's just nature to sit in a dessert cafe and be sweet to everyone. How could you not!!!!!
I even recognized a fellow yelper (Beth W.) who recently wrote her review on Chocolate Pink as well.
Chocolate Pink is a great little place to take a date or someone celebrating a birthday when you are looking for that special sweet treat. I do however half to take away one star due to your cost Chocolate Pink. A bit pricey, even with a 25% off coupon so you get tossed in to the "special occasion" places.
Still very good and I'm glad I finally got to meet you.
PS) I bought 5 candies for $17 dollars (yeah, I know!) and we have been trying one candy a day until they are all gone. They are good, but not worth $17 dollars for 5 pieces.
The more time I spend in Atlanta, the more I like it! And nowhere did I fall more in like with the ATL than at Chocolate Pink. A friend from college and I visited this adorable pastry cafe with high hopes but nothing could have prepared us for the utter decadence contained within. My eyes immediately went to the fleur de sel caramel tart, darted to the Double Trouble chocolate cookies and then back to the banana cream cupcake. Of course, I had to have them all!
My incredible willpower allowed me to take all of these treats back to DC and feast on them with my favorite Washingtonian (except the cupcake, I inhaled that while he had his back turned). Chocolate Pink is thus far the only other bakery I've patronized that has inspired me to utter the 't" word. Yes, Chocolate Pink may well be on par with San Francisco's Tartine and the service is a hell of a lot better!
My only disappointment with Chocolate Pink is that they do not open until 10:00 in the morning! I'm a morning person; I need my fix a little earlier!
