Chocolate Flower Farm
2 reviews for Chocolate Flower Farm
How fun is this? A place that specializes in chocolate coloured and scented flowers!
Hey, they also have some nice overpriced gifty stuff too. And special hot cocoa too, decorative plates, dishtowels, you know. That kind of stuff.
The best thing about this place is out back...there is a huge back deck-type thingie overlooking the water (beautiful, wish you were here) and the side of a building that abuts the choco store is an amazing weathered brick red color. It makes me think of Tom Waits song "Murder in the Red Barn" and what's not awesome about that???
This red wall is the most killer backdrop for group photogs.
Check it out.
I visited the Chocolate Flower Farm before I was a yelper, so I apologize for the post dated review. But this place was pretty sweet, so I figured I owed it to Whidbey Island tourists to write about it. It's this really quaint shop that obviously centers on chocolate. Almost everything seems to be chocolate-inspired, even down to the color of the robe and slippers for sale. It's a pretty random store, with soaps, teas, candy (chocolate, of course), stamps for scrapbooking, cards, candles, etc. My friend's stepmom is way into roosters for some reason, so when I stopped in I picked up a rooster-shaped soap that had little soap eggs to put around it in a porcelain dish. The box it came in made it look super swanky to boot. The soap itself smelled incredible - incredible enough that I actually paid $26 for rooster soap. My mom picked up a gift for a friend of hers - a basket with chocolate mint soap, chocolate tea, and some simply delectable chocolate. The bathrobe they had there was tempting to buy simply because of how soft it was, but it was $87. So it's a cute place to visit and pick up one or two things, especially if you've got enough money to spend on crap you may never use.
