Their coconut almond mounds are awesome, better than the store bought version of course. One star subtracted because there's absolutely no seating, it's a store front only and I prefer to linger while finishing their treats so I don't drop it on the pavement or something idiotic. Good chocolate deserves proper care.
But for grabbing some interesting and delicious milk chocolate goodies to go, I'd recommend them to anyone who's a chocolate lover. Which I imagine is the entire planet.
The chocolate truffles are simply delicious. They just melt in your mouth!
I only tried a four box truffle box; I'm impressed by the quality and rich taste of their dark chocolate! My personal favorites are the Mocha Magic and Kahlua & Cream truffles. I also tried the Champagne and Velvet Sin.
There's nothing much I need to say except that this is definitely a stop for a chocoholic.
Every time i'm up in NC my family and friends Do Not Allow Me To Come Back Home To Sunny Cali WITHOUT boxes of these chocolate truffles! They are OH SO GOOD, my mouth just waters thinking about it. Screw your well named chocolate chains, nothing beats an original shop like this. I remember the first time I bit into a mocha magic, french kiss, champagne and wine & roses--I was Sold, Hooked, Addicted. I also love their chocolate dipped oreos. I will be back in asheville in three weeks and the I always save the best for last--Chocolate Fetish I Adore You!
My absolute favorite? The chocolate covered, crystallized ginger.
There is nothing like this that I have had that even compares. I have tried various other brands' version of the dark chocolate and ginger, but nothing even comes close to the Chocolate Fetish's. The chocolates are made in the back and you honestly won't find fresher, better chocolate in the area.
I dare you to try walking in the store without buying something. Go on...I double dog dare you.
Chocolate Fetish is not as kinky as the name might lead you to believe, but the Ecstasy Truffles may make you moan with delight, nevertheless. Just wait until you get a mouthful of Velvet Sin...
The double entendres, y'all. They just. Keep. Coming.
That's what she said!
::Stops to catch breath::
All right. I think I'm done. In all seriousness, the Chocolate Fetish store is a must-visit in downtown Asheville. I bought a four-pack of the Ecstasy truffles - one hazelnut, one Velvet Sin, one French Kiss, and one champagne. The champagne flavor was especially good. I believe they cost about $1.50-$2.00 apiece. Yum. Worth it.
I am a self professed chocolate snob. I seek out new chocolate experiences in every town I visit. I Asheville, I found Chocolate Fetish.
Walking into their little shop, you are greeted with the smell of chocolate wafting through the air, coaxing you ever closer to the display cases. The gleaming cases are filled with little chocolate treasures displayed as though they are the finest of jewels in a custom jewelry shop.
Let's face it, this real scene was far from this elegant. A more accurate description would be I raced to the display cases, drooling in anticipation.
I did leave with dozens of truffles nestled in a beautiful little box to savor over the next several days. The truffles were VERY good. It hasn't trumped my favorite chocolatiers, but I would certainly visit them again on my next trip!
If you love chocolate, you have found the place to indulge your personal chocolate fantasy. Only downside is that there is no place to eat in.
This place is really worth the effort to find if you're in the area. My fav was Champagne truffle but also loved the Ancient Pleasures, Blossom, Dragon's Kiss, & Mocha Magic.
We hit the Chocolate Fetish nearly every time we are in Asheville. Excellent products and friendly service. The truffles (just about any variety) are my favorite.
I double-dog dare you to find another truffle shop with better tasting chocolate than the morsels of heaven you'll find at Chocolate Fetish. If there are better places out there, they aren't in North Carolina.
You can also order their sweets online and send them as gifts, but shipping can be pricey.
I had been aching for good chocolate, and this place satisfied. The truffle with the saffron seemed not enough, but my wife thought it was perfect. I don't recall which she tried, but it was excellent. Definitely will return and try more.
Go ahead, live dangerously, get the Wasabi truffle, you won't regret it. Just watch out for the German tourists that actually have a chocolate fetish or you might not be make it home by mittenacht.
I went tonight to pick up some truffles for my fiance for her birthday and met the owners! It was nice to finally meet the faces behind the best damn truffles I've ever had!

Another must visit every time we go to Asheville! I once even made a trip there myself (about a 1… Read more »
My best boyfriend in the world got me a truffle assortment from the Chocolate Fetish for Valentine's Day, and the minute I bit into the first truffle, I told him we should move to Asheville to be near this place!! These truffles will BLOW YOUR MIND! They melt in your mouth like chocolate clouds - and the different flavors are amazing. We had the Dragon's Breath truffle (chocolate wasabi), truffles flavored with saffron and ginger, classic caramels, wine and champagne flavored truffles, oh I can't even say anymore. They are fresh, handmade, and (so sad - yeah right!) I have to eat them all in ten days from receiving them so they won't go bad!! Many of the truffle names are trademarked, because they are award winning delicious pillows of delight - get to the Chocolate Fetish ASAP!!!
After a *drunk* romp through town for my new sister-in-law's bachelorette party, I promptly ate the complimentary truffle at our hotel and FELL IN LOVE. The next day I bought four amazingly delicious truffles: Velvet Sin, Blossom, Ancient Pleasures, and Grand Marnier. Ancient pleasures was most definitely my favorite so delicious and spicy! mmmmm! Velvet Sin was what made me fall in love in the first place so I also highly recommend that too. Whatever, I'm sure every creation they have is amazing... Visit the store and enjoy the eye candy.
Once or twice a year I find myself on the streets of Asheville wondering what to do with myself. Thankfully, the Chocolate Fetish manages to keep hooligans like me off the street.
My first impression of the store is its size. Unlike a lot of the other New York chocolate boutiques, this place is simple, almost understated. Talking to one of the staff clears up any doubts. This place is for real. Quality, care, and expertise goes into every truffle. And how it shows! Easily the largest truffles I've ever seen before, except perhaps Michel Cluizel's tumorous truffe geant. But for $2.00 a truffle, my half-Jew senses scream, "What a good deal!" I could easily describe all my favorite chocolates, but then I'd probably just be reciting their menu. So go to their website, http://chocolatefetish..., and see for yourself. As for top three, their Velvet Sin, made from three different milk chocolates, never ceases to amaze. Ancient Pleasures, topped with fine cayenne dust, gives a tasting experience unlike any other. The cool, sweet center meshes perfectly with the spicy exterior. Finally, the champagne truffle is delightful, topped with gold dust (which is as harmless as it is tasteless).
For the curious, the Chocolate Fetish buys its cocoa from private establishments, and so they were not at liberty to tell me where in the world their cocoa comes from. Needless to say, it's not from Nestle. And yes, they ship! Order at the store or online today and get your chocolates tomorrow! When she's feeling magnanimous, my mother sends a box my way when she's around Asheville and I'm not. As far as I can tell, there is very little to no loss of quality through shipping.
Jkopeiorueifsdfjkl. It's that good. I wish it wasn't so expensive to ship their stuff, because this was the best chocolate I've ever had in my entire life- seriously!- and would eat nothing but this for the rest of my life if I had the option. If that's not enough of a rave review, then my friends, I don't know what to say.
this place is a must!!! i just want to scream thinking about it!! the dragon's breath (wasabi&chocolate) truffles are to kill for! just go&see for yourself!!! YUMMM
