Great promotion going on right now through Nov. 20 - lunch buffet (except minus the BBQ) is 2 for $10 ... except keep in mind the odd person out has to pay the regular price of $7.95. That's what happened to us. My parents paid $5 each but I had to pay $7.95. Definitely worth going if you're part of an even # crowd. FYI - if you want BBQ (meaning you want to grill your meats), cost is $10.95. Lunch hours is 11:30-2:30.

The place was packed when we went, and the crowd was diverse - the promo is obviously working. The hot food selection is pretty good and does include meat items like chicken katsu, bulgogi (surprisingly tasty for buffet), three differently prepared fish (my favorite was the mackerel), and chicken wings. The buffet also includes typical Korean dishes like jap chae, and a separate section for the banchan (side dishes). They also had 2 hot soups (seaweed & yuk-geh-jahng), the latter sadly just broth and no content. The naeng-myun suffered the same - cold broth (and yummy too) but no noodles. It looked like servers were good about refilling just the hot food area, and not so much the sushi either - only 1 sushi chef stationed in the middle. The sushi looked like baby pieces - both the fish and rice were tiny tiny. Majority of the sushi that I did see were veggies minus fish :(

Still, 3 stars because the food is actually decent. You can't beat "2 for $10" for all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. And great introduction to Korean food if you've never tried it. Another plus is the labelling for each of the foods in the buffet.

Great spot to grab large quantities of Korean BBQ! Your meat options include beef, tender beef, beef short rib, spicy chicken, pork, bacon, shrimp, and squid. They have some other dishes like sweet and sour chicken already cooked up, but you really don't need these with the BBQ. I will say grab some of the dumplings though, these are really good.

The food is good, not great, and the service is a bit lax on drink refills. Nothing less or more expected from a buffet joint. I will say that the dinner price tag still feels somewhat high for a buffet.

Decent. I love the self-make cold noodle here. Everything else is just average. Average cheap sushi, average asian dishes, average barbecue meat. It's a great place to go when you just want a little of everything and you're really hungry.

Oh yeah, I hate the creepy hispanic servers who clean the tables/ work behind the sushi bar and check you out / try to hit on you. That should not be allowed in a restaurants. I know this is a food review, but this is a very valid concern. I almost feel too uncomfortable to get more food sometimes. And that does not make me happy.

I came here a couple of weeks ago with my cousins for lunch. It's the first time I've been to a Korean BBQ place where they actually cook the meat for you at your table. I'm more used to the do-it-yourself kinds of Korean BBQ.

They have quite a selection of food, more than most places I've been to. But of course all of that is just filler, so be careful you don't eat too much. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have any short ribs. That's the reason why I go to Korean BBQ, it's all about the short ribs. But perhaps they offer that at dinner time?

The dessert selection is paltry, mostly just fruit. But after having eaten all the meat and food beforehand you probably don't have room for too much dessert. They do have a really good cinnamon tea though. So just get water as a drink and then fill your cup with the cinnamon tea from the dessert/soup section.

This place is amazing.
They have sushi, dinner entrees, and the place is loaded with meat.
You can go to the buffet table and grab meat and a lady would cook it on this grill that is located on your table.

Our waitress was very attentive and prepare everything for us beautifully.
I wasn't a big fan of the shrimp though.

My parents love this place. Whenever I'm in town, they always drag me here (it's either here or a kalgooksu place).

I think you definitely get your bang for the buck here. There's a ton of everything at Cho Won. The sushi and sashimi is surprisingly fresh for a buffet. I love that they have surf clam here in their a la carte offerings. They also have a lot of rolls and I like that they use little rice in their sushi. If this place offered uni (sea urchin), I'd give it five stars for sure!

They also have a lot of BBQ options. Lots of different meats and you can eat as much as you want. It's impossible to not leave absolutely stuffed. I think their kalbi is the best, better than their samgyupsal. Their spicy chicken is good but not my favorite choice for sutbul BBQ. I'm usually too full from these meats to really enjoy the BBQ shrimp, the spicy squid, etc., but it's there if that's your thing.

Cho Won also has some Chinese-style offerings in the buffet, but they are unmemorable for the most part. They also have at least two soups on hand everyday. I think they make a great yookaejang but it's a little too oily and for some, may need more salt. The broth is delicious though. The same can be said of the flavor of their spicy tofu soup.

Lastly, keep your eyes on the waitresses who will bring out naeng myun. They always "run out" of naeng myun, but if you wait, you may be in luck. I love love LOVE that Cho Won has naeng myun on top of everything else they already offer. AND it's good!

Definitely a wonderful place to come with family for a casual lunch or dinner.

First the negatives.  The sushi is just ok.  Dining here will make you and your clothes smell like charred meat.  Dessert is just cut up fruit, canned fruit and some traditional Korean things.

Now the positives.  Service is great.  Not so much with refilling your drinks, but they cook and cut up the food for you.  I feel like they treat me better here than flying first class.  All i have to do is go to the buffet, select your choice of meats, bring the meat back and sit it down.  Then you start chatting with your friends and all of a sudden you look down at the hot grill and your meat is cooking in convenient bite-size chunks.  the beef is great, the pork is great, the squid was so-so.  They don't stop until you quit bringing meat back from the buffet.  This ain't Fogo, but if don't leave full and happy, you really weren't trying.  Well worth the price.  my new favorite korean bbq when i need to eat lots of meat.

If you're a man and you like meat... Stop by here for some unlimited man meat. Sometimes our eyes are bigger than our mouths, so don't pack more meat than you can handle on that tiny plate because you might not be able to swallow that load.

Bypass all the filler on the hot side... It's craptastically bland. Everything was either tepid or cold, sitting on them steam tables for God knows how long only made matters worse. The sushi assortment, sliced so thinly, was not even chum grade. Meh.

You come here for the meat and panchan items. The secret is to eat a little at a time. Dumping a crap load of meat on the bbq will just make everything dry and rubbery. But I don't think those pigs cared at the next table as they piled on the meat as if was an Autodoner. Stick with the beef and pork, as the chicken took a while to cook through, by then it looks like plastic. I don't know if I like them cutting and cooking up my food... What am I, 5 years old? Are you gonna friggin feed me and wipe my ass too? Just get away from me with your hot pink lip gloss and phony shit eating grin so I can actually eat.

Little signs are posted everywhere warning not to waste food or else you will be charged extra... It might as well say "You go home now, fat boy, you eat everyting, no more food for you!"

Thank you... Come again!

I have finally found a good korean restaurant in atlanta.  No, not good, but awesome!!!!  I've been here two weekends in a row already and this weekend might be my third.  The buffet is huge and they have an incredible selection of sushi.  Its not just a couple of sushi rolls like at other buffets.  They have several different types of rolls and tons of regualr sushi too.  I could go there and pig out on the sushi alone.  My favorite dish on the buffet is the dried squid.  Its very spicy and tasty.  Its fun having your selection of meat cooked at the table too.

I can't give this place more than 3... because it is, in the end a solid, average Korean BBQ place.  Does that mean I don't go?  Nope.  I went 12 times in 3 years.  :)

This place is great for meat lovers.  You can cook the meat or seafood on the gas BBQ at your table.

I enjoy the Korean side dishes.  They could use a little more variety but eat more of the same thing and you will be full.  I like the Korean sweet drinks (one is rice and the other is some kind of cinnamon).

The only bad thing about this place is the slippery floors.  Be careful if you are wearing heels and trying to balance hot soup.

Really good buffet option.  Opens until late, good quality and selections, reasonable price.

The prepared food offerings range from sushi to Chinese dishes to some Korean-ish dishes.  Most of these are decent, but I would stick with the barbecue/panchan approach, maybe get a couple of inarizushi for refreshment bites between bouts.  You don't want to fill up on the hot food.  A variety of sauces and condiments are available for the barbecue.  Several familiar meat and seafood to choose from, most are nicely marinated and of decent quality.  Pan chans are crisp and fresh and mostly tasty, but nothing elaborate like you might encounter in a serious Korean restaurant.  Lovers of these things will be happy here though, since you can just grab a huge plate of whatever you like, as opposed it coming in a small amount like in a restaurant.  Again you can get full too quickly by munching on these with rice.

The servers help you cook the barbecue, although I don't really see the need.  And they tend to overcook a bit.  If you are able I'd just request to do it yourself.  The meat toughens a bit too easily indicating perhaps not quite enough marination.  Shrimps don't cook very nicely as the body usually overcooks while the head (where some good eating resides) remains relatively cold.  It would have excited me tremendously if they offered beef tongue for the BBQ, but they don't, perhaps because of the price.  Generally though the barbecue tastes good.  And there's always the fun and socialization factor when you are talking about Korean BBQ.

It's a good price alternative to the Brazilian churrascarias.

This was only my second visit to a Korean BBQ, but I really enjoyed this establishment.  The selection of meats was excellent.  They had pork, spicy pork, spicy chicken, tender beef, squid, and a few others.

The buffet also included a good selection of prepared foods such as noodles, soups, kim chee, fried fish, and some other dishes as well as sushi.  I would have to say that the sushi includes a lot of crab and less pricey fish, but they do have tuna hidden in the back.

The ladies who cook the meat were very nice and attentive. There are signes posted around the restaurant warning you not to take more than you can eat, or they will charge you extra.  I'm not sure if this is true, but we tried not to be wasteful.

One of the things that struck me is that most of the other diners in the restaurant were Korean.  This was a good sign as to the authenticity of the food.

The dinner price was $16, and we definitely got our money's worth.  If your group is more than 6, they will add the tip on the bill without telling you. This is a great place to go as a couple or with a group of friends.

It's all about the value!  Great dinner value, and even better lunch value.  Tons of buffet items, some pretty good, some pretty bad.  It's what you'd expect from any buffet place regarding quality.

For me...this is about all you can eat Korean BBQ, not hot buffet items!  Grab some meat....still hungry?  Grab some more.  Still hungry?  More where that came from.  It's a carnivore's delight!

All you can eat meat is typically worth it for me, now if they can get some couches in there and Monday Night Football....

I came here after being dissapointed that Haru Ichiban wasn't open across the street for Sunday lunch. I was very confused when I walked in because of all the alcohol advertisements. Seating is not the best but great for groups, decor is nothting out of the ordinary. Make sure they give you a table with the grill and not the pan. People with the pan
seemed to have cooked the meat in the liquid dripped out of the meat.

Surprisingly, I liked their wings because I usually dont eat those stuff at Asain restaurants. Their beef is truly tender and the meat selection was large.

After their unfresh squid sushi, I did not have another piece. Lemonade had a very nasty taste, better go with the tea in a strange coke cup. The ladies gave below normal service but when we tiped them, they were very nice.

This is THE place that I go to when it comes to pure glutton on Korean food.  I don't know of any other place like it in Atlanta so that's why I'm giving it 5 stars (apparent minority here).

Raw meat options are plentiful (beef: bulgolgi, kalbi / spicy pork / chicken)  Sushi choices are smaller than your typical sushi place but I don't come here to fill up on rice and raw fish.  Meat it is!  I tend to favor the kalbi and find it comparable to your typical sit-down korean BBQ places.

Just a great place to bring friends who may not be as carnivorous as you are (ex: my wife) with decent hot food options.  I'd go there everyday if my wife wasn't reminding me about my cholesterol....

simply did not get the buffet-loving gene like other folks. I always feel gross after visiting one (even the Ritz Carlton brunches). However, I think I have found an exception to my "no buffet" rule. And, of course, it is a Korean BBQ buffet. I came across this spot yesterday and I think it is pretty cool. The food is not the best Korean BBQ you will ever have in your life, but the variety and quantity for the price are hard to beat.

The way it works is that you hit the buffet and grab your meat (and assorted panchan) to take back to your table for your server to cook for you over a gas grill.Like most buffets, strategy is key or you'll stuff yourself with filler before getting to the good stuff. Cho Won throws lots of curveballs with sushi (below) and a long line of Chinese dishes on the opposite side of the meats and panchan.

Verdict: A great spot if you are on a budget. Seeing the large vats of meat and panchan may be disconcerting to those of you who are used to smaller plates, but the meat is nicely marinaded and tender. Panchan can be a bit soggy depending on what you pick out. However, it is still cheaper than the price you pay at other BBQ spots and a bit kitschy. Just stick with the meat and you'll get your money's worth.

All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ in the Atlanta area!! You grill at your own table. They have all kinds of meats (marinated chicken, kalbi, bulgogi, spicy pork) and seafood. They have "better" meats on weekends, like kalbi. I've been there for lunch a couple of times. Lunches are cheaper, but they don't have the good stuff out (like kalbi)... but it's still not a bad deal.

They also have all-you-can-eat sushi. Keep in mind, the sushi pieces are smaller than what you'd find at a sushi restaurant. I guess this is what you get for being a buffet restaurant.  There is also a bar for hot/cooked stuff like Korean pancakes, stir-fries, fried rice...etc.

Personally, I'd go for the bbq. It's a pretty good deal. Weekend dinner is less than 20 bucks per person (16-17 bucks? I can't remember.). I've been to similar places in Northern Virginia and California and they charge easily $25 per person... so this is a great deal. Oh! The only catch, like with a lot of Asian all-you-can-eat restaurants, is that you have to finish everything you get from the food bars. They have signs up warning that they will charge for wasted food.

Well, if Buckhead has Fogo de Chao, Duluth has Cho Won.

Cho Won is commonly known among Koreans as "the meat buffet."  Cho Won is famous for its all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ.  It is comprised of numerous types of meat.  Everytime I've dined here, beef and pork was essential items, but on rare occasions, usually at dinner time, I've seen prawns and squid as well.  People tell me that the meat quality isn't horrible for a buffet.  The waitresses will take care of your beef (cut them, arrange them on the grill, etc) so even if you don't know how to DIY Korean BBQ, you should be safe here.

They also have a small sushi bar and regular buffet section, but it's nothing extensive.  On top of that, they are far away from being the best quality.  Don't forget, the pride and specialty of this buffet is the Korean BBQ, not the side items!  So I don't recommend taking your vegetarian friends here.

Some friends took us to this secret (ok, ok, Eva T beat me to reviewing this. .. so its not thaatt secret) crazy buffet. From what it sounds like from her review, these all you can eat Korean BBQ places are abundant in other areas of the country, but this was definitely my first experience.

Rows and rows of meat selection and mounds of kimchee! I didn't delve too much into the 'non BBQ' selection of sushi and hot foods, but they looked pretty fresh.

Depending on the time of day and if its the weekend, prices range from $9.95 - $16.95.

Take a carnivore, they will thank you.

Very good buffet with very affordable price.  There is so many Korean restaurants in Atlanta now this Cho Won is a buffet where you can eat as much as you want and serves Bulgogi, Galbi, sushi and more. The waitress will prepare your meat at your table after bringing the raw meat from the buffet area.

The food, service and value is great.

I had no clue what to expect when a friend took me there for lunch.

The meat section prior to grilling almost grossed me out since I was not mentally prepared to see raw meat.

Once the meats were taken to our table and sliced and diced by our servers and chef, the meal went to another level beyond my imagination.

The service, food, and everything was way over the top and going there will be one of your best meals ever eaten

Like any buffet place, it's hard for the food to be spectacular.  I went for lunch to check it out.  The bar is split between the cooked food, and the raw meat and the kimchis.

Let's start with the hot side.  Everything was just mediocre, although I think at a buffet, you can't expect much more.  The notable items were kimchi, seafood, and green onion pancakes, egg battered white fish, fried tofu mandu, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, tonkatsu, and dukkboki.  Everything had a slightly non authentic taste.  For example, I swear they put tabasco sauce in the dukkboki, which is a big 'no no' in my book.  Let's not even talk about the sushi.  I'd just stay away.  Anyway, I'd give the hot bar 2.5 stars.

Now for the side with the meats.  If you go, do it for the bbq.  The chicken lacked flavor, however, the beef was very good.  I didn't try the pork, although they had regular and spicy.  They had all the condiments and sides essential to eating Korean bbq.  Sliced garlic pieces, a variety of kimchis, white kimchi, jalepeno peppers, and a variety of sauces.  Of course, like most Korean buffets you must eat all the meat you get.  It's cooked right at your table.

I will definitely be back for the bbq, but I am steering clear of that hot bar.

I would say, compared to other non-buffer style Korean BBQ places, Bulgogi (beef sirloin) here is mediocre, but edible. Hey, it is all you can eat, what do you expect.  The part I like about Cho Won is its wide variety of food selection. For example, in addition to bulgogi, you can grill squid, shrimp, chicken, pork, unusually large bacon strip, all at one very affordable price.  If you want some sushi (well, not the same size of sushi you get at a Jap's restaurant) or Chinese flavor, they have them too.  Good place for friend gathering.

Conclusion: Yes go. Go if ur new to KOrean food and want a quick sampling. Go if you have a low threshhold for meat quality and luv buffets. Go if ur damn hungry, already been to every other buffet around that area and havent had kalbi for a while or for at a week.

I like buffets, it's pretty much all I eat. That area is convenient. You got CHO WON, SIDNEY, the best GOLDEN CORRAL (supposedly the most profitable one in the US), Sweet tomato, KFC buffet, Ryans, Grand and Super grand, etc....
My theshold for "quality" is a little lower than others. For example, a sirloin steak at Golden Corral is pretty much the same to me as the $90 ribeye at Mortons. So, with that in mind, I recommend CHO WON cuz for $20 you eat as much korean BBQ as you want.
A rant I will give is this comment. Why is korean BBQ so expensive for basically crappy meat sections? It's not like prime aged cuts of filet. Go to Costco and u can get Kalbi for like $3 a lb but at a regular korean restaurant, 1/4 lb Kalbi is like $20. Not a bad mark up considering all they do is put soy sauce, msg, sugar as the main marination (word?).
So, with that in mind, I think CHO WON is a great bargin. All I eat is kalbi, samgupsal, and some lettuce. I usually put down maybe 2 lbs of meat.

REMEMBER, there is another all u can eat korean meat place across the street (forget the name) but they have less of a spread. Still, gold stand to me is Manna in Ktown LA, to which I compare all korean BBQ places.
