Chipotle is an offical sponsor of the Silicon Valley Roller Girls.
Chipotle has been a wonderful asset to our team. They have provided burritos to our team and staff as a donation for all our events this '09 season. We are happy to have them on board and thank them for all the wonderful support.
We finally sucked it up and decided to ask them to sponsor us after a long day of threads with our derby team talking about how addicted we were to these burritos. Many of our girls visit this shop regularly as it is a great pre and post-workout food. They are willing to modify the food for an athletes diet and everything is always freshly made.
Thank you Chipotle for your awesomeness!
Hmm..somehow, this place just doesn't do it for me. I would rather head to Iguana's than this place.
Its neat to get to choose what items you want in your burrito. But ehh...I guess that's just not for me.
They get a star for giving a huge burrito!
I am still a HUGE fan of Chipotle.
I also LOVE the fact that on teacher appreciation day they offered a free meal (with purchase of a drink) to all school employees!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Teachers don't always get the recognization they deserve! Chipotle came through though!!

I am a Chipotle-aholic!! LOVE this place.
The food is always hot and you can pick and choose what… Read more »
This place is pretty gross and I'm not sure how they get off calling themselves Mexican. If you want a real burrito head to Burrito Factory across the parking lot.
Knock yourself out if you're down for 1000+ calories in a single meal, though.
I was faced with a dilemma today...which burrito to have for lunch. In this same shopping center you have The Burrito Factory and Chipotle Mexican Grill. I decided to head over to Chipotle as I hadn't been there in quite awhile.
Upon pulling up I noticed there were several SJPD motorcycles parked out in front, then noticed a group of policemen enjoying lunch outside. There was no much of a crowd, perhaps 4 or 5 groups dining inside, and only two people in line ahead of me. The gal taking my order and assembling my Chicken Burrito was friendly and efficient. She asked if I wanted any additional ingredients, such as cheese, guacamole, or sour cream. I declined all (just the basics of flour tortilla wrapper, chicken, white spanish rice, black beans and mild salsa) as I was trying to keep my burrito to under 700 calories (according to some calorie counter I saw online...could easily get over 1,000 calories loaded with stuff). Within about 3 minutes of entering I was on my way out the door with my burrito.
After consuming my Chicken Burrito I feel I made a good choice today. It was very filling, lots of flavor, and semi-healthy (for a burrito). Had I gone to The Burrito Factory I probably would have ordered the "Grand Poobah", the Super Mojado Burrito which would have been twice as large and three times the calories.
BTW - if you are really into Chipotle's burritos, the bicycle racing team Garmin-Slipstream is running a promotion called The Argyle Club, where for $995 you get a team kit (bicycle jersey, bib shorts, socks and cap), tee-shirt, baseball cap and a couple of water bottles, team sponsor discounts, AND a burrito a day for a year from Chipotle.
Bleck, save your $5-$6 and go get a good burrito somewhere else (like Burrito Factory across the parking lot). There is nothing Mexican about this "Mexican grill". The rice tastes like soap and the carnitas lacked any flavor besides that of pepper. Do not want.
I thought all Chipotle were the same... how wrong I was.
Although the menus are identical and taste is pretty close this location definatley is stingy on the portions they give you. Compared to the location of Bascom I'd say you get about 1/2 a pound less of food.
I still really like the food and the concept of a simple menu and fast service, but I will drive out of my way to go to different locations.
The customer service is still very good, its just they have light pours!
I Love it.
Okay, so I like Chipotle because you can add or subtract whatever you want. I tend to NOT like their burritos, because they remind me of swollen tortilla balls that fall apart when you begin eating them. Also, sometimes, you have to eat a burrito that is "layered." Like..finish the meat...them get to the rice, then the lettuce, then the cheese. It's not all mixed together like it should be kind of.
So I get the rice plates now. I only get rice, meat, hot sauce, and lettuce. And what's SUPER cool about Chipotle, is if you ask for more rice or meat, they can't spit in your food out of spite because you're right there!
Awesome. More bang for your buck.
Restaurant is a little small, but people don't generally louge there after eating, so a table is usually going to be available.
I think the worker's are pretty nice here too. I got a a rice plate with just rice and barbacoa meat for my daughter, and the worker stopped me and said, "excuse me, for your daugher? It's kind of spicy."
Most peope woulda just kept on truckin' but she took the time to tell me. I knew it was spicy, and my 2 year old daughter has a freakish fetish for spicy food. But I thought that was super nice of her, but I assured her my daughter liked the Barbacoa meat.
But yes, again, back to my favorite rice plate. It's good if you're not looking for a healthy meal. One would think rice, chicken, and lettuce is bland, but because their chicken is seasoned, and the rice is flavored, it's actually pretty damn good without all that fattenting cheese, sour cream, or guacamole.
Yum. Chipotle.
My better half and I eached received a coupon for a free burrito for riding in Tour de Cure. I had never heard of this place before, but FREE and BURRITO in the same sentence after a long day of cycling was music to my ears.
Burritos for me really come down to the salsa. And their hot red chili salsa is so savory, spicy and delicious! I like that everything is fresh and that they have whole black beans rather than heavy refried beans.
My only complaint is that they wanted to charge $1.50 to add a little guacamole on my burrito. I can buy a whole avocado for $1.50! It was a sign that I didn't need the guac anyway.
The menu is simple and uncomplicated, which I like.
Not much seating available for dining in, so be prepared and get it to go or wait to go during an off time.
Overall, this place is a big thumbs up!
What is with you guys and Chipotle? Have you never had Mexican food before? It's not that the food is bad. But it's over priced for what you get. Give me a hole in the wall taqueria that looks like the health inspector needs a visit. That is real Mexican food.
Steve Ells is just a little too pretentious with his whole "Food With Integrity." What does a white guy from Indianapolis who went to the Culinary Institute of America know about Mexican food?
I don't know if I love or hate this particular Chipotle. While it is one of the few that will give you extra meat when asked for with no extra charge, there is one thing that really upset me about this particular Chipotle, and I've been to quite a few in many different ZIP codes and area codes. This is the first one I've encountered that doesn't give free drinks to college students. That made me slightly upset, but even more so when the rook of a register girl tried to tell me others have a similar policy. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to trust your "When I worked there they didn't," when you're looking up at the menu board before you press any button on the register because you don't know what you're doing. Hello, it's called standardization, the prices are the same everywhere (At least to every one of them I've been to).
If it hadn't been for the snide remark and the lack of a free drink, this would be the Chipotle to get 5 stars from me, but alas, I was left without a drink and a rude remark to mull over. Eh.
Food - 3
Service - 3
Ambience - 2.5
Chipotle is what happens when Subway marries Baja Fresh. I like that they make the burritos in front of you and you get to specify exactly what you want in it as they're making it, so there is a slimmer chance that they'll mess up your order. Unfortunately, that still happens on occassion, as it did with me today at lunch. After the rice, no beans, chicken, salsa application, the guy proceeded to put on a glob of sour cream even though I distinctly say "No" when he asked me if I wanted sour cream. It was straight-up slow motion as I saw the sour cream mountain crush my beautiful burrito.
So, sadly, he had to toss that out - what a waste of good food - and start fresh. The portions are big here so you can save half your burrito for dinner or lunch the next day. They're not so good at wrapping the burrito tightly however, so it is a bit of a messy affair when it comes time to unwrap the foil and reheat the burrito later.
I guess the huge Grand Opening was unexpected... they ran out of chips today! And the manager said he'd bring us chips when it was ready, but never did.
My burrito was good, however I asked for a Fajita burrito and they made a regular one. They served it rather haphazardly with my $1.40 guacamole coming out of the burrito and its characteristic foil wrap. It must have been due to the pressure of all the customers. The line was consistently out the door!
Seating is sparse at this location, but the customers rotate through quickly enough. There's seating outside, too. As for the kids, there were 8 kids surrounding us and it wasn't a problem. Chipotle had a couple booster chairs just for kids. Too bad the tables are immovable, though! I've seen other Chipotles have tables unattached to the ground. A couple groups asked if they could borrow the table right next to ours, but they couldn't! It was screwed to the ground.
They'll probably get 5 stars from me in the future. They're still adjusting! The food is always great and I will definitely return. Maybe next time it'll be for a free burrito... I left my business card for their free burrito drawing!

So I ended up bringing only 4 people to Chipotle for my free lunch. I didn't get much clarification on how many meals can be ordered, but we ordered 6 meals. At the register I just told them that I was the winner of the business card drawing and the employee asked if that was it (referring to our orders). I added in 4 drinks, chips, guacamole, and salsa. Our bill was just under $50 and it was all free!!!
Next time I win a drawing, I'll make sure to invite more friends or at least order more meals!
Chipotle? on Camden and Union? I'm there!
I was beyond excited to find out they were putting a Chipotle here... close to home! woohoo!
So I got a burrito with the spicy beef for the first time... I asked the guy how spicy is spicy and he said mild... yeah... well it was decently spicy but good all at the same time... I flippin love these massive burritos!
I had one major mishap while I was there however... I filled up the drinks for me and my mother and started walking them over to the table... and boom... one full diet coke with extra ice all over the floor... good job! They just kind of stared at me and then had a delayed reaction for putting a cone out and having someone come from the back with a mop... but they didn't get mad or give me a look so it was all good... and they gave us another cup =)
If you're in the mood for some massive burritos where you get to watch them make it Subway style.. then this is the place to go... now I'm wanting to go back just thinking about it... hehehe
Better than three and barely skimming the 4. First thing to note: This Chipotle is small. Very small. Really small. Did I say small? Yes, it's really really very very small. But it's also quite good.
Visited yesterday for a Cinco De Mayo lunch and wasn't disappointed. (After our experiences at the Cupertino/DeAnza Chipotle, I think any Chipotle would be a welcome change. Cupertino is as about as disappointing as it can get.)
The staff here are actually friendly and will ask you as you move down the line what items you want, rather than scowling at you to move it along (adios Cupertino).
The DH and son said their steak burritos were good. I quite enjoyed my grilled chicken burrito. I brought about 1/3 of it home for snacking another day. We ordered chips and guac. Standard across the Chipotles, but with a nice little lime aftertaste. Paired with their guac, the chips are kind of a must.
Will definitely return to this Chipotle for take out.
Their burritos are massive! Their menu is simple and they serve a few things which makes making a decision on what to get a little easier. I prefer the chicken or carnitas fajita burrito with rice, salsa, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I rarely eat here though because the burritos are always super messy and really really filling, but when I'm real hungry and I have a few extra dollars to spare I come here for a great feast!
As much of an oxymoron as it sounds, i dont really like mexican food. But this place gets 4 of my stars because its not authentic, its gringo mexican food! my biggest concern is the healthy factor of mexican food but i actually dont feel guilty eating here. Combine rice, carnitas, black beans, shredded mozzarella cheese, salsa, lettuce, and you got yourself a bomb ass burrito bowl!
I'm addicted to the chips!!
I eat here about twice a week. Always ordering the same thing - chicken salad, little rice, black beans, corn, tomato and a little cheese. The adobo chicken is just spicy enough where it's not burning hot but you can taste it.
Great place. I've eatin at the Cupertino location 3 times and Mountain View twice. They are opening up a new one on Bascom near Hamilton soon and also The Alameda near race street.
I wrote to the company asking if they were going to add tofu or salmon or fish for another option but they said no. They did teply to my e-mail quickly which impressed me.
As for the food, I always get the vegitarian fajita burrito with guacamole.. good stuff. I would give it 5 stars if they had a larger menu. But a great place to eat!
We went to Chipotle the week after this store opened. The food was good and prepared right in front of us, but it was far from being authentic Mexican and it was way overpriced. Right in the very same strip mall you can get authentic Mexican food at Burrito Factory, for a much more reasonable price. I recommend that instead.
So many people love these places, but I've never had a less inspiring burrito. I went back a few more times to try the other meats...still, no.
FINALLY its open :)
I went on Saturday and there were a lot of people. Seating is limited the place is kind of small but I live like 3 min away so I'll just take it to go. So I was in line watching them make the burritos and they were really skimping them on the meat and I swear they were the smallest burritos I've ever seen Chipotle make. Maybe they were being cheap because it was the second day and had a lot of customers and didn't want to give adequete servings so they didn't run out or whatever. I got a burrito bol and when I got to the meat part of the line I asked for Chicken the guy literally sprinkled 6 pieces on it and then went to pass it down the line and I was asked him to please put on a little more. He did, but barely. Everything else was good but they need to not be so cheap, you'd think because it was their grand opening that they'd want to impress customers, I guess not.
Anyways..... besides them being cheap asses with their chicken it was still good. Hopefully they will get better! OH and the first time I went they didn't charge my boyfriend for extra meat, we went the other day and this time they did, whats up with that??
I also went the other day and the manager was working the line and she put cheese on my burrito bol when I had said I didn't want any, so I told her I didn't want any cheese and she went to make a whole new bowl but I told her it was fine just pull some of the cheese off, no big deal. I get up to pay and she tells me that I don't have to pay for my meal because she messed up. It was WAY cool of her, I got a whole free meal because she put some cheese on it. That was nice.
----------------------- Update 4/5/08
This place is really starting to annoy me. First off the employee's don't listen. I tell them no cheese, they put cheese on and get annoyed with me when I tell them I didn't want it. Secondly none of the employees seem capable of wrapping a burrito Which is weird because it's a "mexican" restaurant that serves burrito. The last 4 times I've come here they've wrapped the burrito so bad that there are holes in it and the food is spilling out. The last time the lady was wrapping it and she ripped a hole in it saw that she did it and threw some foil over it real quick. I asked her to re-wrap it. She looked at me like I was crazy, rolled her eyes and let out a sigh. She seriously stared at me for a good minute, Finally another employee stepped in and said she'd do it. I don't see why it's so hard to just wrap a burrito who NO HOLES in it, seriously it's not that complicated. I've been to many other mexican restaurants and have NEVER had this issue. I guess from here on out I'll stick with a burrito "bol".
The service is quick and personal, and the food is definitely good. However, the prices are a tad expensive. Even so, decent food and place!
I LOVE CHIPOTLE!!! Its high quality, taste good and you get it fast!
Great, I'm craving it now and its 8 AM.
Chipotle is one of those places that seems famous for being famous and not a whole lot else. Their burritos are good, but from the near-zealous defense and admiration of Chipotle from friends, I would have expected these burritos to end world hunger and not just my hunger. That said, When I heard a new Chipotle location opened up a little closer to home in San Jose, I had to check it out.
I got there at around 9:30 PM, 30 minutes before they were closing, so maybe the traffic had died down considerably, but it was more or less empty save for a handful of people taking up their own tables. The location couldn't be that ideal, as I didn't notice a school or anything of the sort nearby, which is atypical considering other Chipotle locations make a point of opening near colleges and high schools to attract a rush of students every day. In any event, it wasn't crowded at all, and the location seemed to acknowledge this as the accommodating space for a line build up was small. If there was/is a rush, this place might have a lot of trouble handling it.
I ordered the chicken burrito, same as always, and they made it the same as always. The problem (or benefit) of chain stores is that you rarely have anything unique to say about a new location popping up except to comment on the new location. The food was the same as always: Satisfying, tasty, and well-priced.
All in all, the place is great, and seems like the perfect unknown place to get your Chipotle fix. As someone mentioned previously, the menu is a little scant, but it's basic and appeals to people coming for the first time. If you've never been to a Chipotle, and are easily overwhelmed by a huge crowd and loud music, avoid the other locations and try this place out.
i love chipotle. when i moved back to the mainland from hawaii i was having this as much as i possibly could. nevermind that i did win the free lunch for your coworkers here. that probably made a difference
I love Chipotle, and I recommend it to anyone who wants tasty burritos or tacos.
this place is a disappointment because it could be so much better. the meats are very tasty, rice was a bit undercooked. the beans, wrap, salsas, and other sides are all good. the guacamole options is ridiculous, it's' $1.40 extra which is way too high, but, on the flip side, they give you a huge glob of guacamole. if they would give you half as much for half the price, your food would be better balanced and you wouldn't feel like you're getting robbed. globbing is another problem this place has. a guy who knows how to make a burrito would place all the ingredients into lines onto the tortilla, then make the wrap so that it is an elongated shaped roll. chipotle seems to not understand this concept and ends up globbing all the ingredients into the center and then wrapping the thing up into more of a ball than a traditional looking burrito... not to mention the ingredients are all concentrated into various corners instead of being distributed more evenly throughout. again, unfortunate, mainly because the food and especially the meats are tasty.
