5 reviews for Chinese Chuckwagon
noooooooooooo way...a first in my life...a chinese food truck..
this is probably the only place serving chinese food here...kind of a dissappointment.
I'd rather just give them the benefit of the doubt and rate it 3 stars. Id rather not be dissappointed and soil my taste buds from a moving chinese food RV.
ps. I dont believe how Daniel W. down there can say this place could serve the best chinese food in the Marin....further to believe in the bay area...

Alright, so this one-of-a-kind Chinese Food Truck actually wasn't bad. On the way to Tomales Bay, my wife and I stopped in Point Reyes and came across this Chinese (Taco Truck Style) food truck, although they don't sell tacos.
Anyways, we just wanted something small to share, we decided to give the Chinese Chuckwagon a try, but couldn't find the cook/owner. Out of nowhere this tall big white guy comes running out of a bar and jumped into the truck and was apologizing cause he was trying to catch the Giants game on TV, which is cool with me since I love the Giants. So I realized while standing their that I'm ordering Chinese food from a truck and the cook/owner is white. Long story short, the food was GOOD, if I was to ever come through Point Reyes again, I'm stopping by to get some Chinese food to go.
See that big shiny red catering truck? Well, that, my friends, is your portal to the best Chinese food in all of Marin county, and some of the very best in the entire bay area.
Yes, it's like a magic rift in the time-space continuum that takes you directly from this charming little old-west town to somewhere in Schezwan... And all this magic happens right next to the funky Old Western Saloon
Prove it for yourself--go eat there and you'll see that the Chinese Chuckwagon makes truly excellent food!
I'm not just talking about, "Oh, I've gone to Point Reyes and I'm hungry and Chinese sounds good so why not," good--I'm talking, "HOLY MOTHER, THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I'VE HAD OUTSIDE OF CHINA!"
I'm really picky about Chinese food. I know, there are lots of Chinese restaurants in China town, just an hour and a half away, but as you know every one has a different personality. Some are too bland, some too spicy, some too greasy, some too dry.
But the Chuckwagon is JUST RIGHT--spicy enough (less if you want), crispy (not greasy), moist, tender, sweet, sour... I'm not usually given to hyperbole but this is about as close to perfect as it gets.
The "General's Chicken," features sweet-hot deep-fried bites of white meat--they're amazingly and delicately crisp. For lunch you get fried rice and noodles, for dinner it's ala carte. Both ways it's great.
My friend loves the moo shoo pork--tender, rich...
Now--because it is a big red truck and not a sit down restaurant, you'll need to take your fantastic food somewhere to eat it--which of course is a great pleasure in Point Reyes where there are seemingly endless breathtakingly beautiful views to enjoy while you eat, from the bay to the ocean and forests-a-plenty in between.
So next time you're north of the Golden Gate bridge and you want the best Chinese food--and a beautiful drive (and beautiful place to eat), get thee to the Chinese Chuckwagon. You will thank me for it.

review based on prices ONLY.
when i think of a truck filled with goodies, the first thing that pops in my mind are those taco trucks filled with $1 tacos, $3 burritos $2.50 mulitas ...
sf has proved me wrong to a whole new dimension .. have you heard of a korean truck filled with korean goodies? (http://www.yelp.com/us...)
and now, a chinese truck filled w/chinese foodies... i swear, it's a cute concept and all, but we must stick with the mexican food...
normally, i'd give any reviews that i haven't fully experienced by giving them a 3 star since it's a bit unfair, but their prices totally blew me away.
u have to be simply stopid to pay $7-8 for paying 6 pieces of potstickers & won ton soup. but here, check it out, here are some of the other stuff they offer...
-snow pea & prawns *but dayam! for $12?* my only question is, how much prawns would they really give me...3?
-chow mein w/chicken for $7? ok, that's fine..
the owner is this clowny looking caucasian fella who has curly albert einsteiny hair who screams out e=mc^2. hahha ... quite a funny man, but man, to pay THAT much for THAT just blows my mind away... but given that there's tons of 4-5stars makes me wonder.. how good can it be? shoot, with $12, i can easily stuff my family with at least 10 gai bows or something.. YEOW!

Who would've thought that this Chinese Chuckwagon would serve really good Chinese food? I tried Kong Pao Chicken and it was great. It's different from what I am used to but instead of celery, they put other delicious veggies and I loved it.
