4 reviews for China King Buffet
3 1/2 to 4 stars. For a Buffet it is pretty good, its usually pretty steamy in there, you can see warps in the carpets or whatnot. But the food is usually pretty good, and this was my spot for Chinese Buffet, until Super Buffet came on down.
Some of my favorite dishes include the pepper chicken, and the orange chicken, as well as mongolian beef. Their sushi here is better than sushi from other buffets.
All and all, a pretty good chinese buffet. No its not 5 star cuisine, but what more could you want for 11$ a person and all you care to eat?
I tried it once my conclusion is:
If you want good buffet, go to "Super Buffet" in Dupont!
The China King is a buffet-only Chinese restaurant emphasizing seafood dishes such as salmon filet, crab claws, oysters (cooked and raw), mussels, shrimp, lobster, squid and other fish dishes. The selection is large and varied and includes the basic white and fried rice, 3 kinds of soups, egg rolls, chow mein noodles, egg foo young, various chicken, duck, pork, and beef dishes as well as several types of dim sum, multiple kinds of sushi, 6 kinds of fresh fruit, and various desserts. The price reflects this as it is more expensive than the usual Chinese buffet. Quality of the dishes is good to excellent; occasionally there are one or two that are not so good but there are so many other choices that you can ignore these.
There is a local following so it can be busy. Interesting place to eat - like being near the UN - single people to extended families, military folk, retired folk, different languages and ethnicities. Next time you try to get into the Old Country Buffet at Lakewood Town Center and find the line too long, give this place a try. It's on the corner between K-Mart and Lowe's on 100th St. Like many Chinese restaurants, they seem to spend more effort on the food than keeping the place up. It looks somewhat better on the inside, though it could be cleaner and the women's restroom is appalling. Hmm, maybe that should be 3 1/2 stars.
Ate here with the wife last weekend and I got to say I was preety impressed. My wife didn't really want to go because she said the food isn't that good but after takeing her she loved it. must of changed hands since her last visit. Give it a try, it's right across from IHOP and by the K-mart
