This has very quicky become our favorite local place, The dinners are wonderful. I always get the salmon steak kabob dinner. It comes with choice of soup or salad. I LOVE their Greek salad. Very fresh pitas!!!!
The falafal sandwich is also delicious....and HUGE!!!! -

Chicken Kebab is a terrific little Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant in Glen Rock, NJ. Most of the dishes are the same that you would get from a Greek restaurant, but they have different names. They have a small dining room that fits a surprising number of people and a very kid friendly attitude. The prices are very reasonable and the platters are large enough for the biggest appetites.

Good place for a meal-take out or sit down. The doner is excellent. The kebabs are fine. Nothing exciting and different but consistent, good food with fair pricing and fairly speedy service.
One item that is lacking is the bread. It tastes like cardboard after you get it home. Not sure why but it seems nearly every Middle Eastern restaurant in the area is challenged by 'bad' pita. -

What a great little Mediterranean/ Turkish mom and pop place right in Glen Rock NJ.
Really delicious spinach/ cheese pies and fresh chicken kebabs with rice. The falafel's are also addicting.
They are generous with their yogurt and tahina sauces. (unlike some other places where they charge you or give you a tiny ketchup packet's worth).
Dinner meals come with Awesome salad with feta cheese.
Only bad thing about this place is that it doesn't deliver. =(
Also for some reason wasn't too crazy about their fish dishes. -

One of my favorite places to get a chicken kabob dinner...moist delicious chicken and the best all around Shepard salad...incredible....the spinach pie is probably the most awesome you could find anywhere and YES, service and owner personality cannot be beat.

Great little place, ,the Owner and his wife are really friendly and take care of "regulars". Stick to Turkish/Middle Eastern food, I ordered the Saganaki once and it was totally different than what I've had in Greece.
All that aside, his Babbaganoush, Hummus, Kebabs, Tahina and salads are top-notch. End with some Turkish coffee and a sweet like Baklava and you'll think you're in Istanbul. -

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I ordered take out and the pita was just moderate. 2nd time I went there and actually sat down, food was overall better.
It might have been since i was there in the first few days which is why I don't think it will happen again. Ill edit this again if I go there again -

This is not my first experience with Greek/Mediterranean food, but it was my first sit down experience with it in a restaurant. This kinda food is not on my usual diet so is a rare and thoroughly enjoyed treat for me.
This restaurant is a little store front restaurant in a small strip mall. It's not fancy in any way, however its not divey at all its pretty clean, the service was very friendly, and it was well kept. They don't serve booze, but u can bring your own.
The Food was delicious!
We started off with the falafel and a spanokopita (sauteed spinach in philo dough). The falafel was good and came with tahina sauce. The spinach pie was great. I love those things. Nice and crispy and it was pretty big, enough for 3 of us to all have some.
My friend ordered the Kebab dinner, which is gyro(lamb), then lamb and chicken kebabs. Her mom ordered the moussaka, which is kinda like a Greek turn on Lasagna, and I ordered a special which was pick 3 types of kebabs and I got chicken, beef, and kofte, which is a mix of ground beef and lamb.
The salads they gave us were pretty big with a lot of feta cheese, yummy. The moussaka was great, it contains eggplant which I dont eat, but aside from that the dish was SO good. Esp scooped up on some warm pita bread..mmm The kebabs were cooked great. The beef was tender and still pink, the kofte was a new thing for me, it was pretty good, kinda tasted like sausage, but the best of the kebabs was the chicken. It was very well seasoned and cooked just right...very juicy and tender. I'd eat that anytime. The gyro was ok...I'm not and have never been a big fan of lamb, my friend really liked it tho so if your into lamb..try it! I didnt try the lamb kebab. The kebabs can come on bulger wheat or rice. I got rice and it was good.
This place was a very nice change in variety for me. I'm really into this kinda food though and intend to pull my other half into it. As for this specific restaurant, I'd say try it! Don't expect anything fancy, its a small local place, to me that just adds to its charm. The little family run ethnic joints have some of the best food.
I'd definitely suggest hitting this place up if your in the area and want something different from the usual burgers, steaks, potatos, pizza and Chinese routine. -

We love this place. When we get tired of burgers, pizza and all the other take-out choices, this is where we head. You can eat in or take out. The food is always consistent. Fast service. Fresh ingredients. Good value for the money. You can dinner - entree, salad and desert for four for less than $50, and still afford a nice bottle to go with your meal. BYOB for eat in. Allow extra time for take out on Friday and Saturday! (If they weren't busy, why would you want to eat here?)
I'm hooked on the lamb shank dinner entree. Slow cooked all day long, comes over a bed of rice. It'd flavored just right, and the meat falls off of the bone. Order this one early - when they are all gone they are all gone for the night.
Chicken Kebab is also a nice alternative for lunch, and has a nice gyro cooking all day long. -

Went there for take out one time. Liked it and came back with my family the next day. We ordered the spinach pie for an app. and my husband and I both noticed it was a little expired. It tasted funny. So without being rude or speaking out loud we informed the waitress about it. The VERY RUDE owner of the restaurant started yelling at us that he made them last night and that we didnt know what we were talking about. We were shocked at how this man treated his customer. This alone, no matter how good the food is, will be the reason we will not come back again. I will also tell my friends not to come here too!

DELICIOUS! I have cravings for this place and their doner kebab (gyro) is the best I have EVER had. Their lamb kebab in a pita is delicious too. The lamb is so tender and juicy, MmM MmM good! My boyfriend had a lunch special which consisted of some hummus, falafel, pita, another eggplant type dip that I cant remember the name of , and a chicken kebab. Everything was fantastic, the chicken was perfect, and it was the best falafel I've had, but I'm no falafel expert (I've only had falafel in dining halls and from food trucks). The pita's are topped with a super fresh salad mix and they give you a little cup of their yogurt sauce to drizzle or drown your pita in. Their dolmade, stuffed grape leaves, are filled with a rice/orzo mix in great olive oil.
The owner of the place is always there and is extremely warm and inviting. The atmosphere is very casual. They are grateful about the business they have and you see that by the care and time they give to each customer and their food. -

Excellent Food!!!
We eat here just about every week and the quality and freshness is always consistent. The doner kebab is delicious. Spinach pie is really really good too.
The chef/owner could not be nicer, and a great cook too.
I highly recommend Chicken Kebab, it's a winner! -

Amazing, absolutely delicious, fresh, wonderful food with great service! We could eat there every other day - it's so good! The spinach pies are incredible, and the chicken kebab with bulgur is mouth watering. There are lots of vegetarian options - the grilled vegetables with bulgur is delicious. Desserts are out of this world and the husband/wife team that own it are so sweet. Prices are more than reasonable and take out is great. Highly recommend!

Yum. I love the donner kebab and the salad that came with it. We had our kebab over bulgar and it was delicious. It's great that it's BYOB; we went to Bottle King next door and got a 6 pack to drink with our meal. I'll be back!

We got food to go from this place three times, and each and every time it was really good. We always get a pita stuffed with some kind of kabob (doner, chicken, etc.). Its always fresh, the meat well marinated and tasty and the vegetables fresh & crunchy.
The owner is always there behind the counter and he's friendly and accomodating. -

Not good. My brother and I got falafel sandwiches to go. The falafel was cold and hard, and the lettuce was brown and wilted. Soon after we started eating, my brother found a dead fly in his lettuce. We threw the whole meal away.
