I would order from here only because its convenient, people are nice etc.
Other than that, I'm not that impressed. I think Chicago's Pizza is overhyped. It could be the Sbarro of the city.
Maybe the pizza tastes a lot better when we are drunk?!?!?!?!?
Holy cow. This pizza was incredible. Ordered the mexican pizza.
Perfect balance of cheeses, chicken, refried beans. Nice and hot and fresh also. Fresh sour cream and salsa came with it, and a free liter of cola for ordering online. I'll be ordering again for sure.
Whenever I say "I'd never_____," you can count on me doing ______ sometime in the very near future, 'cause tonight I waited in line for an hour to partake in CP&P's "Customer Appreciation Night." An assortment of salads, pastas, pizzas, thin-crust and deep-dish, dessert and sodas, and all complimentary. And I who claim to almost never wait in lines. Obviously, there are exceptions to every rule. And free food is often a magical catalyst for change.
What a great way to thank your customers, and to foster loyalty. The staff treated everyone as if they were paying, most (but not all) of the patrons behaved themselves, and the atmoshpere was like a big late summer evening party, even when a little rain fell. The tables inside and outside were full, and they kept the food coming on the buffet set up inside.
Thanks, CP for your kindness and hospi-tal-i-tee!
We've gotten both take-out from and delivery from here. The delivery was faster than they said it would be, but still about average for pizza delivery. I had cheese pizza both times (yes, I am a boring pizza orderer), and it was good. It was still nice and hot, even getting delivery as opposed to take-out.
For me, the crust is kind of a weird intermediate thickness. It's definitely not thick crust, but I wouldn't say it's really thin crust either (well, maybe for Chicago). The other pizza we ordered, was pepperoni the first time, and pepperoni with half sausage the second time. They got the full topping/half topping thing right, which doesn't always happen with pizza delivery. I think both of those were good too, but as I'm a vegetarian I have no first-hand knowledge. They certainly got gobbled up quickly.
As for price, the delivery fee was small, $2.50 I think, but still annoying. Overall, it was maybe a tad more expensive than the quality warranted, but not too bad, and not high enough that I won't order there again. But since it's super close to my apartment, maybe I will stick with take-out from now on.
Pizza is always delivered cold. Once pizza is reheated it's good. Need to improve delivery.
Don't misinterpret this review because of my lack of reviews. Previous Yelper who came back just to comment on this awful experience, which tells you how awful this experience must have been.
Poor customer experience. The manager and front desk staff were rude, manipulative and just poor in general. I wouldn't go here unless the food was free...check that, the other month they gave away free food and I still didn't go. Tonight I decided to give them a try and will never, ever make that mistake again. This is the opposite of customer service.
Thoroughly blown away by my poor experience. I would not trust any food they send out to customers. Consider yourself warned. The manager walked away and just laughed off me as a customer. Thank goodness for yelp revenge, I apologize for leaving you.
This is some of the best pizza we've ever had.
The stuffed spinach pizza is one of our favorites, but the thin crust often makes its way into our order as well.
We'd order from here a lot more often if only they had a location closer to Logan Square.
ZERO STARS FOR STUPIDITY!
Saturday evening, I called Chicago's on Montrose (As I have in the past) for a delivery order:
ME: Yes, I need a medium thin crust Pineapple & Canadian Bacon for delivery
Dumb Chicago's phone order taker: What is your phone number?
ME: I give her my phone number & address
Dumb Chicago's phone order taker: What waaaassss that agaaain?
ME: Once again, I gave her my address, as I SLOWLY pronunciated it clearly so her fried brain could comprehend.
Dumb Chicago's phone order taker: Ok, it was .... , ........., Avenue?
ME: No, I repeat it one last time....
Dumb Chicago's phone order taker: {She finally got my address right} Ok, your total is $17.80. Oh, but wait, we do not deliver to that street {Confused sound in her voice}
ME: Well, take a looksie at your computer. Actually, I have ordered delivery on several occasions----You are very close to my condo.
Dumb Chicago's phone order taker: {Pause...deep exhale, while she mumbles to a co-worker} No, we really do nooooot deliver to that addressss.
ME: Hmmm, so I guess in my drunken stupor, I called Pete's and their delivery drivers always pose as a Chicago's delivery drivers just to "Fuck with me?"
I hung up----I have zero tolerance for stupidity!
I called Pete's. Pete's actually had my address, phone #, and an employee that could take orders effectively.
Chicago's?
More like Chicag-NOS!
When ever I am not in the mood to go out to get something to eat I want it fast and consistent, Chicago-pizza is the place for me. Not only are they good at 3a when returning from the bars, but early evening as well. Usually, I order a thin crust pizza with light sauce with only mushrooms and spinach. Delicious. When i hosted a game night (Mexican train, a version of domino's), i ordered Chicago-pizza and everyone loved it.

I had a 14" thin crust delivered. No complaints, but I wasn't blown away either. $20 isn't too bad for Lakeview pizza, but I think i'm going to try something else next time.
I live right up the street from this place and we always order delivery or take out. The food is always delicious but we never had a dine-in experience.
After helping my boyfriend move into his new apartment, we were starving for some Italian food so we decided to head over to Chicago's since it was close and within budget. The dining experience is pretty darn nice for the price! Bread and oil for free at the beginning of your meal, the waitress was really efficient and friendly. Our food came out piping hot and correct and it was really tasty. You get a lot more menu options when dining in as well. I had the chicken and blue cheese sauce with gorgonzola cheese. Yumm.. He had some sort of mostacioli noodle with a vodka sauce and a cheese-stuffed chicken. I liked his better and I kept eating it. (Brought it to work today for leftovers too!)
The dining room has some great paintings obviously done specifically for the restaurant. And the place is decorated nicely with stained glass and curved in-wall wine shelves. I think we'll dine-in more often!
Have you ordered this pizza yet?
They grill the eggplant before slapping it on there.
What are you waiting for?!

The good:
- Great pasta dishes! Pollo Marsala is my personal favorite.
- Online ordering is a breeze, and you accumulate point for free food.
- Dine-in service is good, and comes with yummy pizza bread + olive oil.
- Awesome salads - and they have "Hot Bacon" dressing. Yep. Try it.
- Open til 5am daily FOR DELIVERY.
- Frozen pizzas for sale.
- Vegetarian friendly.
- Separate entrance for pickup and single slice orders.
- So close that I could throw a baseball off my deck and hit the door.
The not-so-good:
- Some of the food skews a bit salty for my taste. ESPECIALLY the pepperoni pizza.
- They deliver until 5am, but the Montrose location closes for dine-in and slices much earlier
- Fat-free salad dressing? 55 cents more. What's that about?
- I'm pretty sure they have helped me put on a few pounds this winter. (my own fault)
Overall: Yummy. Great price for the quality. Belt-busting portions.
Not much to say. If you've lived in Chicago you have more than likely had Chicago's Pizza. I've only dined once inside but the staff was attentive and helpful in explaining some of the dishes. The best thing is that they have a separate entrance where you can walk in and buy pizza by the slice. $3 for a nice size piece of pizza and you are on your way...I love it.
During my latest experience with Chicago's, I thought they went above and beyond. I had some people over before a concert and we ordered pizza and I went down the street to pick it up. When paying, I also said that I would need to add some soda to the order and the worker said that I was entitled to a free six pack with my order. I had no clue I was "entitled" so I thought that was awesome of them to say that instead of trying to milk an additional 5 bucks out of me.
This place has saved my ass on numerous occasions, the most recent being last night. Getting home relatively late and still hungry, the BF and I were at a loss for what to eat. Our kitchen was seriously empty, but at 11::00pm everything was closed. Our tried and true Qdoba Mexican Grill was closed (new hours perhaps? tear!) and the local burrito stand wasn't sounding super appealing either. Then it hit us that Chicago's Pizza would rescue us once again, as it has on many a late night.
Calling from the car, the service was amazing. Often when I am ordering over the phone I feel like I'm shouting my order. The chorus of "what? what?" coming from the other end of the line is either thanks to my crappy cell phone service or some lack of verbal clarity when I'm hungry as hell. Either way, Chicago's understands and takes care of me.
Ordering a deep dish, Chicago's was prompt and courteous. A simple cheese is my favorite, and the sauce is absolutely incredible. For some reason I've had bad luck with pizza sauce consistently tasting like the stuff from a Chef Boyardee meal kit, not the case here at all. I have also found their salads and grilled chicken thin crust pizza to be out of this world.
I would have to agree with others on here who say the only drawback is the cost (hence the four and not five star rating), as one deep dish pie can end up costing close to thirty bucks. However, any deep dish pizza in the city is going end up costing about the same, and Chicago's offers annoyance free dining unlike Giordano's downtown, where one can wait for up to an hour only to find themselves rubbing elbows with fanny-pack laced tourists in from Indiana for a whirlwind trip down Michigan Avenue. Really, who needs that?
It's solid. The pizza is good and the price is okay. Open at weird hours, sometimes they go until 5 am, but sometimes they shut down earlier, so beware.
This saturday they did close early and I ate at Fast Esuper Burrito House istead, and that sucked.
So many drunk late nights ordering from Chicago's...when its open til 5am on the weekend it hits the spot like no other.
I can probably see myself at least 15 pounds lighter without Chicago's Pizza. I could go crazy and order a salad, but at 2 or 3am salad is the furthest thing from my mind.
Their thin crust pizza is excellent. Their deep dish is on par with most. The only strike against them is the pasta. Go to a nice fancy restaurant for that, hell, even the Olive Garden. Chicago's Pizza specialty is late night orders. Plain and simple.
The chicken fingers and cheese sticks I constantly ordered have been dubbed 'my special' by many of my friends. I can hear myself getting fatter...
Chicago's Pizza and Pasta, thank you for all the late nights you have come to my home, delivered me pure satisfaction in a brown bag, and sent me to bed fat and happy.
Okay, so it may not be the greatest pie in the area. So what. But when I'm with my cousins and it's late, their delivery is a godsend.
For your late night pizza fix, it can't be beat. If it CAN, then let me know for the next time I'm up here. Thanks. :D
OK Decent pizza. I was asleep when the delivery guy called. I am often asleep b/c I have a neurological disability When I heard my cell phone the driver delivered my pizza and then began to lecture me about my response time. I called the manager of the restaurant and he he had the audacity to lecture me. This is the last time I will order from here. I am really annoyed the the Eastern attitude regarding service. They think you are doing them a favor and then want $ for it. I have encountered this in all aspects of Chicago life. the next time I hear an Eastern European accent at any place I will simply hang up. I am not being racist just looking at the odds. I do not need to be lectured at when I am paying someone to do a service.

And who answered the call? Chicago's Pizza on Montrose. Thank GOD. My dad wanted to experience "deep dish Chicago pizza." I said OK, I'll see what I can do, and then scrambled to find a place that wouldn't quote us a 2 hour wait time, etc. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree here, folks...pops ain't waitin' anywhere, no matter what kinda pizza they got.
Service was decent, we sat outside to enjoy the weather (though be forewarned that they use the alley for delivery drivers, so it's anything BUT quiet), and enjoyed the pizza. And booze.
My dad said "this was worth the 300 mile drive."
And then, I sighed some relief, threw back a few more beers and called it a success.
Amen.
Pizza was excellent, but a little expensive for the size. Although, we got a medium for just the two of us, and we were both stuffed afterward. The ingredients were really good- Grilled Chicken!
And I thought the chocolate mousse cake was scrumptious!
There is one thing I really love about this pizza joint and it's not the pizza, it's the flipping awesome Avocado Salad. Holy yikes this salad is good!
The fresh greens are topped with sliced avocado, onions, olives, and homemade Italian dressing. Try it!
Order small cheese pizza with cheese fries. Say it'll be here within an hour. Awesome.
Delivery guy comes, I pay and tip him and proceed to eat my cheese fries appetizer.
After sufficiently stuffing myself with the greasy cheesy gooiness, I proceed to open the top of my pizza box and without looking, stuff a piece in my face (it was a long week, okay?).
Pepperoni.
Pepper-oni. On the entire small pizza. Thank god I'm not a vegetarian. Otherwise, you would've heard profanities all throughout Chicagoland that specific Tuesday evening. (Okay, the "tough week" was really just a bump in the first few days.)
Call back up the pizza place and explain situation. He says he'll make another pizza (cheese this time) and send it out. Should be here in about an hour. Awesome.
10 minutes later, my (correct) pizza arrives. I hand back the one-bit pepperoni and I'm back to gorging my evening away.
Insert (cheese) pizza into mouth and sigh away my bad days.
So...you're out drinking, get hungry, need food for a small group of people, Chicago's Pizza is the perfect place. I like the thin crust pizza because the crust isn't as thin as at other places. 3 pizzas, 2 orders of breadsticks, and fried zucchini for $55...not too shabby.
I'd prefer to go a block north to Spacca Napoli for their crazy awesome thin crust pizza but when folks from out of town visit this is where we end up.
I ate here for the first time this weekend (usually do take out) on their outdoor patio. Service was good, we were properly warned about the time required to cook a deep dish pizza by our friendly waitress. My aunt and uncle from a suburban, gated golf community enjoyed commenting on "the unusual" crowd walking about, meaning one guy with a mohawk and later a girl with pink hair.
These guys came three with an 8 pound deep dish at 3:30 am when everyone else was closed. I will forever be indebted for that.
At 27 bucks, it was a little steep, but the pie was hot and everything was very fresh.
I'd order from them again, but I'm sure there are way better out the.
It would have been nice if the delivery guy came upstairs.
Their hours are excellent but I'm writing for this specific location for a specific reason... a month ago or so my partner and I ordered two avocado burgers online from this specific Chicago's. An hour and a half passed (we'd received our confirmation and all) and nothing- so we called and inquired. Apparently they never received the order and were quite rude about the whole situation. We asked to speak to a manager only to be told we were speaking to the manager and there is no way we ordered online because he never received it. To this day I still have the confirmation in my inbox. Good food, good hours, asshole GM.
Well, they do allow dogs on their outdoor patio. That's a plus.
OK, so we went on a Saturday for lunch. It wasn't crowded and the service was pretty good. We ordered a medium thin crust pizza half cheese, half sausage. It came out in a reasonable amount of time. I liked the cheese and sausage ok but the crust was not too great. It was only slightly better than a frozen pizza crust. If we went back I probably wouldn't order it again but I'd try their deep dish or sandwiches....
Oh yeah, the bill was less than 15$- that's pretty good.....
Best spinach deep dish EVER! This is coming from a pizza-a-holic. Thick doughy crust. Lucious green spinach. Mounds of three different cheeses. Secret blends of spices. Lots of red sauce. It's as close to pizza heaven as I've ever been, especially when I load it up with crushed red pepper...yum!
I also really enjoy their specialty pizzas. I dare you to check out their Bar-B-Q pizza now that's some serious goodness! Grilled marinated chicken. Red onions. Fresh cilantro. Smoked Gouda and Mozzarella with their famous sweet and tangy BBQ sauce.
Am I making you hungry yet?
Here is all you need to know:
Thin crust, "Chicago Vegetarian" with no mushrooms. Heaven!
If you are inebriated (or otherwise incapacitated) to the point where you cannot function - this place is a damned godsend.
It gets bonus point for being open at 3am and being so close to my house, but loses a point for being called "Chicago's Pizza" and not having deep dish.
Boo-urns.
EDIT: Or maybe I should never let other people order my pizza FOR me? I guess they DO have deep dish, but my friend didn't order it. Boo-urns to HIM.
I've had pizza from this Chicago's Pizza twice when I had a spot to hit and the pizza hit the spot. Nothing fancy or crazy or even off the wall remarkable about this pizza, but it is good. They cut it in squares. The crust is savory; the sauce is tangy; and the cheese is melty good. I've had both take out and pick up and you know this place puts out a lot of pizza, so they don't mess around. If you are in the neighborhood and in need of pizza because you have a spot to hit call them up and you'll have what you need in less than an hour.
Chicago's pizza is definitely a staple - anywhere you are in the city, any time of day (pretty much), you can count on good food. Chicago's is what you order when you come home from the bar totally shitfaced and need something to keep you from puking in the morning. Then, it's there in the morning for breakfast. Its thick crust and hearty cheese will quell your hunger and end the debate as to whether or not you're going to hurl. Chicago's serves huge portions on everything, which is why I never feel like I'm paying too much.
The spinach salad with hot bacon dressing is the absolute best side to their pizza. I love the wings as an appetizer. Their menu has something for everyone.
Chicago's should be programmed into every drinker's phone - it's just the best place to order from - because, even though their pizza is good, sometimes not everyone likes pizza.
I would give it 5 stars if the delivery people wore jetpacks.
Thanks.
I love this place. I cannot end a night of drinking without ordering delivery at 4:30 in the morning. Normally I like pizza toppings, but for Chicago's, you just have to order the large thin crust cheese. Yum!
Delivery is always quick, the food is hot, and I've never had a bad experience with this place. The one on Sheffield is also good, plus you meet a lot of interesting characters if you're picking up near closing time. :)
If I had reviewed this place a couple years ago, I would have given it 5 stars. Have been ordering from here for at least 8-9 years. BUT lately, they have been SERIOUSLY skimping on cheese on their pizza AND raising the prices. It got so bad, that I had to take pictures and complain to show them their lack of cheese. 4-5 inches of crust without cheese on some areas is unexceptable. Their "xlarge" pizza is more like a regular large at most places but you still pay a lot more than anywhere else. I had friends over one time, and knowing they put on not to much cheese, I ordered from here (only because I really wanted the stuffed pizza too, and it wasjust easier) and actually paid to have "extra cheese" put on. There was NOTHING different than a regular skimpy pizza and it ticked me off that I even paid extra to ensure good cheese, and there wasn't.
They have out right forgotten items when ordering online and have had to forward them emails to prove I ordered and paid for other things.
They continually raise their prices and skimp on ingredients.
They have some decent pasta dishes, and some good wraps. My favorite is their vegetable stuffed pizza or spinach stuffed, although the crust is very salty and I wind up drinking gallons of water after eating it....it is worth it because I love the taste so much.
If they would get their act together and stop skimping on everything and get a bigger diameter for an xlarge thin crust pizza to go with the inflated price, I'd be much happier. I have stopped ordering from here, just based on food quality....and not getting much for my money.
Sorry, you used to be my all time favorite pizza place, but not any longer. Your customer service sucks!
I am a big fan of Chicago's stuffed pizza--I would even venture to say I like it better than the 800 pound gorilla that is Giordano's. The best thing is they deliver wayyyyy into the night, I want to say like 5am or something. Great for night owls and party people! Always fast, too.
The sandwiches can be hit or miss, and I don't like their salads. Service when I actually ate in was not impressive. But I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and spicy their buffalo wings are!
The deep dish is pretty decent here, just stay away from the thin crust. It's pretty weak. Just like the commercials say, this place delivers really late. And just like in one of the commercials, I awoke this morning to find a pizza in the kitchen with no memory of ordering, eating, or paying for said pizza. Special props go out to these guys for being able to forgive certain "hijinks", such as someone ordering a pizza and then being completely comatose when the delivery guy gets there at 4:30 in the morning. Oops.
Thanks guys!!
I ordered pick-up (mmm... 14" thin w jalapenos, black olives and cheddar cheese - even though cheddar is not on the menu! - and a liter of diet coke) last night and have since devoured the entire thing.
The food was ready when I arrived and I was greeted by not one, but two friendly girls.
Everything was good, but not great. I was a little sad that my pizza was square-cut instead of pie-cut, but now I know. I'll probably order from them again, but I'd be just as likely to order from somewhere else just to try something new.
Oh yeah, heads up.. err, down. There is a trip wire of a piece of cement practically in their doorway. And I tripped on it.. and almost dropped my pizza.
I can't say I've ever even set foot in this restaurant. I always get delivery. And I think I've always been drunk. They deliver until 5 a.m. on the weekends and I've never waited more than half an hour. Four stars for that! I think everything I've ever ordered was good. But what isn't good when you've spent the night drinking vodka and just need a little something to soak it all up?
