I was so ticked off when I dropped my new iPad into a snow bank and cracked the glass, especially when I found out how much Apple wanted to charge to repair it! I did a 4 hour Google search for all sorts of alternative fixes (most of which involved shipping my iPad which meant more $$$) and then I thought of searching on Yelp - thank gawd! Not only was Chicago Smart Phone Repair close by, but they were the best-priced of all the places I'd called AND they were open every day of the week till 7:00. They had my iPad fixed in 3 days and it's as good as new! (Note: they had originally promised it for the next day, but they weren't happy with the 1st fix, so they redid it. Nice to know they have quality control!)

Been to this place about 3 times, always had mixed feelings each time. 1st time I came here after I broke my back glass to my Iphone 4. I saw online that they had a promotion for $35, perfect right?! Got there and midway through the fast repair, the repair dude says my battery has "exploded" uhh okay, he never showed me proof or any "explosion" parts, just threw a price at me for a new battery. My battery was working fine after I broke the glass, but what the hell $60 still isn't a bad price. 2nd time I came back for the same issue (I know), but this time it was including my battery. I gave them a phone call prior to my visit, just to get some prices the guy on the phone said that I could get both my glass and battery for $60 again, because I was a repeat customer. Got there and another guy (the explosion guy) said that I didn't talk to them for that type of price I called somewhere else...uhhh noo it was definitely you guys! So half way through my frustration the guy who I obviously spoke with chimed in and said that he spoke with me and to give me the battery for $35. (Also because I was a repeat customer) Got the battery and eventually my phone didn't work again! Ok went to UBreakIFixIt and Simon gave me a COMPLETE list of the things that they DIDNT do FOR FREE, went back to Chicago Smart Phone Repair and they replaced everything for free (the nice guy with the black hair). Their service is really fast but their customer service skills differ from different guys. The fact that I got talked into buying a battery when I didnt need it, debated about if I actually called them about pricing, and given another list of things by a competitor that they didnt install with the battery will take my iphone problems elsewhere.

I, like so many others, smashed my phone. Not wishing to pay apple 200 dollars to repair it i sought out an alternative.
What i found was a shop that would make the same repair for half the cost. The parts alone are almost 60 dollars. Very reasonable.
Not only that but they were happy to fit me in on a busy Saturday. They even recommended a great bar to grab lunch.
My experience was completely pleasant and I recommend it highly. An honest price, a quality repair and they stand behind their work. But now i sound like an advertisement. -

What an awesome option for people that need there phone repaired but don't want to have to get a new phone outright for a ridiculous price. My friend gave me his old iphone 4 that worked perfectly fine besides the fact that the screen was severely cracked. I took it to these guys considering they were only one block away from my house (so convenient) and because they had such good yelp reviews. They fixed the screen for 108, that's including tax and they did it in under and hour. Such a quick easy fix, and the staff was friendly, plus its cheaper then sending it to apple to have them repair it. I would highly recommend there services.

Well I smashed the screen on my iphone months ago and just lived with it for sometime hoping the glass wouldn't fall out. Then I dropped it again and that was the end of the glass staying in place. I thought, oh awesome there goes any money I saved for Christmas. Then I was tipped off to this place. THE BEST! For $99 they replaced it right when I brought it in and in about 45mins while I had coffee next door. Super nice guys and very personable. I really hope they do well, and I took some of their cards to give to the rest of us who don't want to be screwed by apple.

This place is great...ive been going here since it was just CPR...I loved that name...I'm not happy about the word Smart being in there now...CSPR doesn't have a good ring to it!!!
I've gone to these guys in the past before my Smart Phone days and they were always so helpful. My cell phone always seemed to break before a big business trip and I was not looking to commit to a new phone and a new package. These guys always had a used phone for me that worked
perfectly ever single time. They saved me so many times and it usually only cost me 50 bucks.
From all of there reviews it seems like they do a great job fixing cracked screens too...I hope I never have to find out but if I do have an accident I am definately coming here to get it fixed. -

So on Oct. 27th I was walking to dinner at Arami and I dropped my phone right on its face and it cracked. It was sad, sad, sad. But I have insurance (I mean I've been paying that annoying monthly fee for god knows how long, might as well use it, right!), so everything is going to be ok. I found out my phone was on backorder, they said they usually came within 3-7 days, but "per the contract" they have 30 days to get you your phone. Did anyone know this!? I talked to tons of people and got nowhere. So I had to wait...and wait...and wait. Day 30 comes and no phone. I call again to say they are in breech of contract, yada yada yada. Do you know what they do? Nothing. Say their automated system failed to contact me. But they would send me the phone as soon as I paid the $99 deductible. Really? No thanks. I went as high as the "office of the CEO" (which Im sure is just another group of people at the call center) and the best they could do was give me a $15 gift card for my trouble. I would not give them a penny more of my money after this experience.
Sorry for the long story, but it leads me to this. I walked into CSPR, got my screen fixed in 35 minutes for less than I would've paid for the insurance deductible. How could it have been so easy? Thank you for existing. More people should know about this. Shout it from the rooftops. CANCEL YOUR INURANCE and head to CSPR when you have a problem. And you get to support a local business. :) -

This place is friendly, professional, quick and affordable. I talked to Matt, who was my savior today.
I dropped my iPhone and shattered the glass for the second time in the two years I've owned it. I called right away, and they had an appointment ready for my any time after noon.
I asked if I could come after work, and they were flexible. 5 pm. Told me that they get a lot of walk ins so it was best to keep my appointment.
Of course, because I had the worst day ever, on the way out of the parking garage after work my credit card got stuck in the machine. I was going to be late for my appointment! Ugh! But I called again and they said - no worries.
Turns out I got my card and made it on time and - in true form - these guys fixed my iPhone in 15 minutes for $55.
Thank you, Chicago Smart Phone Repair. I'm a klutz, so I'm sure I'll see you again sometime. I'll recommend you to everyone! -

I had a screen protector a leather cover from coach store and still managed to crack my iPad 2 screen. It was in such a bad shape that I even managed to bend the charging port for my iPad. my home screen wasn't working and I was in a horrible shape. I use my iPad for my business. Anyways! Went to the website enter my phone and email for iPad 2 repair appointment and few hours later Matt called. We scheduled. A time to meet and promised to do the job in 90 mins. He got it fixed in less. Had excellent conversation with him and he fixed all the issues, cracked screen, bend charging port and home screen button. Now it works like a charm! Matt's your man for your smart phone repair needs!

Matt at Jet City Devices gets an A+ for customer service and professionalism. I've been taking my iPhones (yes, plural. I'm not great at keeping screens from cracking!) to him for almost 2 years now, and the excellent service and quick repairs have kept me coming back, not to mention that they have very fair prices. Their repairs are also quick, taking anywhere between 20-45 minutes; even though I've been there 4-5 times, they always recommend something to do in the area while I wait.
The first time I visited, Matt didn't have the LCD to go along with the screen I needed for my 3G. Knowing that I came a long way, he took the LCD from his own phone and installed it on mine, and he gave me a discount to make up for the fact that it was "used." I've also had to come back another day on another visit because the part I needed wasn't available, and again I was given a significant discount to make up for it. That sort of service is hard to find! I recommend them to everyone I know with an iPhone, because they're impossible to beat in Chicago because of their prices and quick repairs! -

This is the story of a girl and her Droid.
Forget data tethering - I'm all about Kelz tethering. I am pretty much permanently tethered to my Motorola Droid. Given that crucial information, you can imagine the look on my face when my daughter's friend, who was checking out one of my phone's apps, dropped my phone, slightly cracking the screen:

Oh well, my phone still worked so... no huge harm, no major foul. I just continued to use it. I got used to my phone's beauty flaw and life of an android slave went on happily for several months. Until I pulled my beloved Droid out of my pocket last Thursday. My phone's one little crack had become a shattered spider web of crackled glass. My face went from:

I went to my local Verizon store to look into my options. $90 for my deductible to have my phone replaced?? WTH?? "Well," I thought to myself, "I have Yelp. My fellow Yelpers will come to the rescue!" and I began perusing the listings for cell phone repair centers here in the city. I called. And called. And called. NOBODY had the screen I needed in stock. Well. Almost nobody. Finally, I called this place, Jet City Devices, way out in the boonies (Jefferson Park. I live near the Loop. To me, Jefferson Park is practically in another solar system).
Although I was initially a little cranky about having to travel so far out of my own little neck of the woods, I am SO glad I found these guys. Why?
First, they're cool people. Very helpful and they KNOW their stuff.
Second, the distance wasn't that big a deal after all.
Third, They fixed my phone - for the same price my deductible would have been on my completely useless phone insurance! Glory Hallelujah, my phone is all better (and beeYOOtiful)!
Fourth: JET CITY IS THE ONLY REPAIR PLACE IN CHICAGO THAT CARRIES DROID 2 REPLACEMENT SCREENS.
Last and very, very important: As busy as they were, the guy was able to take care of my phone almost immediately.
Happy ending to my story:
I love Jet City Devices. And, even though there *are* places in my neighbourhood that can handle other things with my phone, I'll be heading out to Jefferson Park if I need to have anything done. Yeah, they're worth it. Which is why I'm giving them my coveted BTS (better than sex) rating. -

I just joined Yelp to review Jet City Devices, becuase my Iphone fell and the home bottun, Charger outlet and the Speakers would not work after that.
This happen a saturday night and all day sunday no phone, but on Monday I finnally decided to Google Iphone fix in Chicago,
Several business came up, but this one stood up becuase of Matt helping out other people with thier phones.
I called Matt and told him what my Iphone was doing, right away he told me it was something very basic and would cost me $20!!!
When I went to Jet City Devices I met Matt and he took the phone apart in front of me and and fixed it in about 3 minutes!! Charge me the $20!!
I am so very grateful with Matt and I highly recommand Jet city Devices to anyone with a phone problem. Woohoo Big Time!!! -

Wake up, grab my iPhone 4, and as I'm walking into kitchen I dropped it. Face plant on the vinyl tile. Needless to say the screen didn't survive the fall. Great way to start the day!! Got online and started looking around for repair places. Decided to check out Yelp to see if other unfortunate people like myself had found places to get the phone fixed.
I called a couple places and most were out of stock of the screens. Some said it would be weeks before they would have any available. Came across Jet City and decided to try them. They were farther away than the others, but I needed the phone repaired. They had great reviews so I called them. Talked to the gentlemen and he was out of stock but was expecting more in the following day.
On Monday I called to verify they had them in stock. Eric said that they did. I headed up there after work to get the screen replaced. Arrived at 5:15PM dropped off the phone. Eric told me about 30-45 minutes and even suggested a place nearby to grab a bite if I was hungry.
Grabbed a bite and headed on back. He was just finishing up. Brand new screen and the phone works and looks like new.
All I can say is thank you for the prompt and excellent service!!! They did it in the time they said and the price they quoted. You can't ask for more. I will be recommending Jet City to anyone that has phone problems. -

If i could give this place 10 stars I would. I recently shattered the screen to my Iphone (3Gs) for the second time and really didn't want to deal with the Apple store hassle & prices for repair. I found this place online and requested an appointment. I was amazed that I got a response within 10 hours and a confirmed appt for the exact time I wanted the next day. The guys were very friendly and extremely fast - within 15 minutes I had a new screen and he even threw in a new home button b/c mine wasn't working well.
The best part is yet to come though - As I reached into my bag to pay, I realized that my wallet was not there. After checking my car, I returned without any way to pay for the services. I was on call for work so I couldnt leave my phone at the store overnight. Matt offered to meet me later that evening or the next day and even trusted me enough to get in touch with him and leave with my phone repaired and without paying. Luckily I had just left my wallet at home, was able to pay the next morning and everything worked out - but I was so impressed by how professional and trusting they were...would definitely recommend this place to everyone!!! -

$95, I was in and out in about an hour with a battery changed, and a screen repaired. The guys were friendly, courteous and interesting. Efficient and have a good turn around if you're sending in from elsewhere.

Okay , it's 9pm and I am walking with my cell phone and BAM! It falls and the face cracks. WTH??!!!! Now I am not up for an upgrade and I refuse to buy a new IPhone until that time. What am I gonna do??!! Well I go to my friendly neighborhood yelp and stumble across Jet City Devices.
All I can say is THANK YOU Matt!! You saved my communication life. I will recommend you to EVERYONE that I know.
15 minutes and $75 bucks later my screen was brand spankin' new.

iPhone 3GS front face cracked, checked at Apple to see how much it would cost ($99), went to the social networks for other recommendations, got referred to these guys, found out through Yelp that there was a special for $55, made an appointment, visited them, in-and-out w/a fixed screen in less than 15 mins.

Jet City is awesome. I dropped my phone and Matt fixed it despite the fact that it was the Christmas/New Year break. After fixing there was this really "minor" issue with home button. It was a little bit more sticky than usual, and it didn't really click 'exactly' the way it used to (I guess that shows how much i use the iPhone on a daily basis). Anyways, I emailed Matt about it and set up a time to get it looked at. When I brought it in, I struggled to even replicate the issue .. turns out you have to tap it really lightly in order to even notice the difference.
Well ... Matt didn't even blink. He changed the button for me, and because he thought it might be the glass, he gave me a brand new glass front. Looks awesome now, and clicks just like it used to!
I wouldn't hesitate recommending Jet City to anyone. Great service by a guy who really cares that you're happy with the final product.

Easy, fast, efficient. They rescued my iphone after I had dropped and cracked the case (OUCH!). Many tears later, I found Jet City, had them replace the glass, which took about 5 minutes, and was on my way. This was a much better option that junking otherwise great phone and having to sign a new 2 year contract with AT&T.

Matt was cool, competent, and fast.
My iPhone 3GS had a cracked screen. The touch part still worked, so it was an easy fix. He took less than 15mins to fix, then like 5 more mins to get my credit card info and email address. About $100 with tax and 1 year warranty - half the price of apple. Booya !! -

Broke my G2 screen in a motorcycle accident, thought I'd have to lay out $400 for a new phone. These guys not only did a great job on the screen, but really helped me out with another screen problem a couple weeks later. Very fast turn around time as well (I had to ship my phone to them).

So you dropped your iPhone, you're not eligible for an upgrade, and you can't stomach the thought of paying at the Genius Bar. Sound familiar? Well, I did that and searched for alternatives. There was no way in hell I was going to try to fix it myself... then, I stumbled upon Jet City Devices.
They weren't kidding when they said it would take 5 min! They're totally worth it, very professional, and you'll have the peace of mind that the screen is guaranteed for a year! (functionality only, klutzes!) Just remember to bring a magazine with you while you wait since your iPhone will be unavailable! -

Cracked my iPhone glass the fix worked out perfectly plus he was cheaper than the other place i looked at from yelp.
Had a place to wait but it didn't take more than 10 to 12 minutes. Easy and quick.
I have been using the phone with the new glass for the past month and it works great!

I had a cracked iPhone screen and didn't know what to do. I didn't have the time to fool around with the diy kit. These guys did everything they promised and for cheap! The "reservation" thing was kinda weird but they called back quick and no more than 15 minutes after handing over my broken phone they were done.

Stopped by a few weeks ago - my iphone screen had died after being dropped and they fixed it very quickly for a very reasonable price. Was $60.83 out the door as part of their discounted holiday sale. Was in and out in 10 minutes.

So my iPhone holster spun around and my phone came crashing down. The LCD was broken rendering the phone useless. I took it to the genius bar and you all know the drill. $250 or new phone and my screen would be fixed. A quick yelp search later led me to this place. Matt was very nice and helpful. He just moved from Seattle so we talked Northwest a bit while he worked on my phone. Really laid back guy who got my phone working and saved me $500 since my company requires full reimbursement. He was also cool with my 2 year old son running around. I will go back to Matt if I need to. Hopefully not soon!

I was initially a little hesitant about getting my iPhone repaired somewhere other than the Apple Store but couldn't stomach the thought of paying $200 for another screen. I found Jet City through Google and reading various reviews on its website and Yelp and decided to give it a try. The screen is brand new and the service is quick, professional and friendly just as others had mentioned. Very positive experience!

I thought that I would have to pay $200 to Apple when my iPhone 3G S screen cracked, but these guys use genuine warrentied parts and only cost me $95. Best of all, I got it all taken care of in about 10 minutes!

quick 10 minute diagnosis from Matt here and he isolated the problem with my iPhone. Charged me $45 for 10 minutes of work to replace one of the electrical bands inside the iphone which was not allowing the ear component (speaker) to function properly. Very helpful, easy to deal with, straight-shooter on diagnosis. Fixed my problem.
Thank you Jet City. I give these guys an A on efficiency, help, warranty, and customer service. Highly recommended. -

Matt is wonderful. He is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He repaired the smashed up I-phone screen in minutes and saw me first thing on Monday morning to do so. I would recommend Jet City - very cheap, didn't ruin my warranty and fast and friendly. Yay!

After I dropped my Blackberry and popped the trackball out (and getting told by T-Mobitches that the insurance policy I pay $7/month for requires a $150 deductible to replace a phone that cost $99..but I digress) I looked around online to see if I could source the parts myself. There was one local place that would fix it for $45 flat but the parts online only cost $2 each plus expedited shipping..total of about $16 or so. I kept looking for local repair options and came across Jet-City. I took a chance and was very pleasantly surprised. The price was right, Matt was cool, and the job came with a guarantee. I've already told some equally clumsy co-workers about Jet-City and if I get slippy fingers again will be going back to Ravenswood for help..
