Hotel is a bit old and dated.  There was a dirty sock left by someone behind the curtain of the large bay window for the room.  I only had to stay for one night for a meetings.  While the hotel is okay and relatively clean I did have to walk through the indoor pool to get to my room.

I would have given this place 2 stars based on room and the pool issue except for the staff.  The staff at this hotel were excellent.  They were polite, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to help me and deal with my schedule.  I would stay again for work related travel if I am in the area again.

Not necessarily the first pick for me regarding a vacation as it is out of the way.

Spent two nights at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare - the hotel feels like it has been around - in fact, my cab driver told me thought the hotel was as old as Dulles International Airport.

As old the hotel may be - it is a nice hotel, well maintained and clean. The hotel staff were friendly and happy to help, answer questions, and such.

Cons:
- My bed totally lacked support - I need a firm mattress. The second day I awoke with back spasms - a pinched nerve in my lower back - this typically happens to me when I get a mushy or overly soft mattress.
- The rooms still have older analog style, CRT-based TVs - c'mon guys - it's time to switch the rooms over to HD TV and HD service.
- The hotel is just a few minutes from Chicago O'Hare International Airport - and is directly in the path of the airport. As such - a lot of airplanes fly directly over the hotel - and fairly low - noise could be an issue depending on where your room is.

Pros:
- Friendly staff
- Nice rooms - other than the beds and TVs
- Free shuttle to the Airport

I hate hotels. HATE THEM. To me, the beds are always uncomfortable, the sheets are scratchy, and I can never stop thinking about what a black light will do to the place. Ick. I stayed at the Marriott a couple nights for a friend's wedding, and it wasn't like a hotel at all. It was like a wonderful little apartment.

Let me slip into realtor mode for a second... it was a lovely two bedroom, two bathroom, fully furnished, new kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher and microwave!), flat screen TVs in every room, floor to ceiling windows, spacious living and dining room, new carpeting, gas burning fireplace, and a personal coffee maker!

Seriously, my best friend scored the deal of the century when she put her wedding party up here. The cabinets even had dishes for us to use. You walked into the living/dining area, and the rooms were on either side of the living room for maximum privacy. There was complimentary breakfast in the morning, and we're not just talking donuts -- there was fruit, yogurt, granola, and bagels. SOMEONE wanted to get married in the middle of January, so sadly, the outdoor pool wasn't up and running. Parking was free and no hassle at all, a wonder considering this place is across the street from the Allstate Arena.

I'd recommend the Marriott to anyone staying in the area, especially for an extended period of time. You really feel like you're in someone's apartment, not just a room with a bed and a TV. I don't know if all the rooms are as great as the one I stayed in, but I was really pleased that it felt more like a cozy apartment than a sleazy hotel room.

I stay here every year and I must say this place is a bit of a money pit! They nickel and dime you for almost everything! I hate the fact that they charge for parking but I can see why because the "L" is in the rear parking lot. The beds are always comfy, service is usually great, I'd suggest changing the air filters in this place because I always leave with reddish eyes.

Stayed here last night and it was awesome.  A friend and me wanted something different to do so we decided to get a room here so we can swim and have a nice dinner.

The pool is top notch.  The indoor pool is connected to the outdoor pool by a divider that you swim under.  It's really cool to go out to the outdoor pool when it's a little bit cold out. They keep it open all year round and when it's really cold it's really steamy pretty sweet.  Plenty of clean towels and the whirlpool was clean and hot.

We didn't go to any of the hotel restaurants, but She and I ordered a pizza from room service, and it was surprisingly very good.  The sauce was flavorful and there were ample toppings on it.  They have a deal where you get a pizza and 4 beers for 25.00 and that is the way to go.  The pizza was better than dominos and arrived in a little under twelve minutes which is ok in my book.

The bed in the place is what I want my bed to be when I grow up.  It is huge, has lots of pillows and is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.  Don't get any dirty ideas kiddos she likes woman, but if you wanted to get down and dirty the bed is big enough to hold an orgy of at least 6 people! The price of the room was very reasonable for a weekend night on short notice.  I rented the room for under 70, which is a steal in my book.  I love coming to this place it's like going on a little mini vacation.

This place is not necessarily convenient, but it was a good place for a conference I just attended. The conference facilities were newly renovated and looked really nice, although the constant flow of staff and their trolleys through the "crowd" at the conference was inconvenient.

The rooms were definitely older. But the beds were new and extremely comfortable. And there is no wireless in the entire hotel. Get a room facing the pool area when you check in and you'll be able to sit out on a balcony or patio facing the pool, which is nice. The rooms here are definitely overpriced, though ($170 per night).

One thing I really loved: The homemade granola they served at breakfast. That stuff was crack.

the rooms are fairly small.  With the bed, the desk, the little table they have to put there for some reasons, the chair and the tv, you're all cramped up.  The plus, the AC / heat is deliciously inaudible.  The -, the doors totally slam, and the plumbery is incredibly noisy, if your neighbor take a shower, it wakes you up.
Beds and bedding stuff, very comfy

I stayed/used banquet hall facilities at this hotel for a local wedding. Its hideous exterior really hides how nice this hotel is. When we got there early for pictures, the front desk managed to find us a room to put our stuff away in. They were extremely helpful.

Speaking of the banquet hall space, it was amazing. The facilities were extremely clean and nice in general. The grand ballroom was huge and managed to fit 500 people in there comfortably for a long ceremony. My favorite feature about the banquet halls would have to be the coolest Tiki room ever. I felt like I was walking into an episode of Tiki Bar TV or the 50's. The room had bamboo walkways, waterfalls, and tiki huts. This room served as the cocktail hour and it made it so much fun. The cocktail hour food was yummy with vegetable samosas and malai chicken. It was very good. The main ballroom later converted for dinner and dancing was nice and comfortably sat lots of people. The dinner was again excellent.

The room was comfortable with a large king size bed and the basic amenities. It was your average hotel room nothing too special. Our room was at the end of the hallway, so it was quite a walk to the elevators and the ballrooms.

Overall, I enjoyed staying here. I especially liked the Tiki room the best.

What sets this Marriott apart is the staff- at least for me. They aren't just nice, they always seem to be extra nice. And typically speaking if I am at the Marriott at Chicago O' Hare, that means United Airlines found a way to delay/cancel/ruin my flight somehow, and now I'm stuck in Chicago for the night. Somehow, the Marriott folks find a way not to piss me off anymore. That may seem like a trivial accomplishment, but trust me, it's not! One stay they even gave me a substantial amount of Marriott Rewards Points when I checked in to make up for United canceling my flight!

And despite usually booking things way late notice (thanks again, United- you bastards), they usually get me a good room and sometimes a pretty nice upgrade. It would be nice if it wasn't a 10-15 minute bus-ride away from O'Hare, but oh well.

This is my go-to hotel when United jacks up my travel plans.

For a "full service" Marriott property it's very basic. The manager at the front desk is this raging queen named Edward, so be on guard; he may be in a bitchy mood when you approach him. The other employees and the valet staff are very attentive and quick to help you. Parking is ridiculous; $30 a night... for Chicago that's high, and considering this is by the airport, it's highway robbery. The rooms are clean, plus the A/C is quiet and super cold!! Finally, internet access will set you back another $13 per day; a bit pricey, but if you're there on business chances are you can expense it. Don't bother with the restaurant in the hotel unless you need ice water; Gino's East is next door.

Stay here several times monthly for work. Always happy.  The front desk is super attentive and nice.  The beds are so cozy, it' impossible to not sleep.  The girls in the restaurant downstairs are great.  I do agree with the other reviewer, Gino's is also a great place to eat, cheaper than the hotel restaurant.  My only complaint is that some of the rooms are so far from the front entrance, it literally takes you 10 minutes to walk from your room to the front desk.  That's a bummer when you're tired, and rolling your luggage with you at the end of the day.

Here for business, and was SHOCKED that they didn't have wireless internet in the hotel...what is this, 1999? First hotel I've been in in a while that hasn't had that option. Anyways, the rooms are pretty average, the parking is expensive, and the restaurant is fairly bland. So, 3 stars.
