Why the extra star you ask? Because when you have someone like Raydine Virgil, take time out to really teach you how to do new cool stuff with your hair, you realize how much she cares for her clients needs. Raydine showed me the proper way to roll my hair, which sizes to use etc. I definitely feel more confident about doing stuff with my hair now.

I got the Keratin treatment done here. I was able to call on an afternoon and get in by that night. My hair looks amazing and I'd definitely recommend the treatment to anyone who has frizzy and out of control hair.
I spent $280 total for partial highlights, the Keratin treatment, and salon shampoo, AND tip. That is compared to $350 just for the treatment at places like Mario Triccoci and Elizabeth Arden. This place is very reasonable.
The stylists were very nice and accommodating. While I already have my amazing stylist for everything else, I will go back here for another Keratin treatment.

I've been seeing Raydine for about a year and a half now and happy with the service I receive from her, especially love that she doesn't charge me a fortune for just a haircut. She specializes in curly hair, which I have, and she spends time determining the best cut to emphasize my curls before she gets to work.
The best part of the cuts I receive from Raydine are that they last a long time, like two months between cuts long. Not bad at all!

Wooohoo! As good as it gets is right.
I've been going to Raydine to get my hair cut since like 2003 which was a very long time ago.
She's very efficient and will give you ideas when you just don't know what you want to do with your 'do. She gives GREAT color consultation (ahem-- not that I do that, ok I do.) and my bangs are like super cute all the time.

OMG! Curlies Unite, Raydine Vigil is a Godsend. She knows her stuff and is more than happy to provide tips on maintaining your cut. I have been searching for a Curly hair expert and Raydine, my dear, you are a Genius! When my hubby first saw me, I kid you not he did a double take and asked me to turn around so he could check out the full effect. Thanks a million!
Raydine has been my stylist for over TEN YEARS and I have received compliments on my cuts and color since Day One. She takes better care of my hair than I do so I'm thrilled she finally has her own salon. She's talented and precise, has great ideas and is honest and real to prevent you from a tragic hairdon't. I've referred friends and family to Raydine Vigil and they're hooked now too. Yay!
This woman GETS hair! After 10 minutes of talking with you and seeing your hair it's like she's had it on HER head her whole life instead of yours.
Researched the brazilian blow dry intensively and this salon is one of the few that do it in Chicago. When I went in, the entire salon was empty and it was only the stylist and her assistant which was a bit scary. I had a dry, hacking cough and only till we were about to start the long, arduous treatment was I finally offered something to drink, after having been there for 15 minutes and non stop coughing. At first I was a bit scared regarding how my treatment would turn out, since I had never been to this salon, and there were no visible clients (an empty salon is always a red flag and never really seen especially since there were no other hairdressers in sight), but the brazilian blow dry turned out fantastically. My only issues were that I waited so long before being offered any refreshment (and I think I was only offered something to drink because I wouldn't stop coughing) and that they forgot to tell me what products I could use for my hair after since you can't use products with sodium anything and I forgot to ask since I was so distracted and tired.
However I was finally able to wash my hair after 4 days of waiting and my hair turned out beautifully after air drying. Instead of a big, poofy & puffy mess, it is straight with body as promised.
I love Raydine! I found her after searching the internet for a curl savvy stylist. She took her time with me and found out I what I wanted and what was actually going to work for me. I've received the best cuts I've ever had and can't imagine going anywhere else now.
She also just opened her new place, that I had the pleasure of visiting. Chicago Hair Care (http://www.chicagohair...) is just north of Addison on Ashland Ave. The place looks great, fresh and clean without trying too hard.
I recommend her to everyone, regardless of hair type, but especially those with curly hair. She really understands curly hair and continues to educate herself on products and techniques.
Let's put it this way - I traveled 800 miles for my last haircut with Raydene and am hoping to plan more of my business trips around my haircut needs (please don't tell my boss!). I found Raydene a few years ago when I lived in Chicago by dumb luck and can't say how great her bob cuts are. They grow in perfectly, and I don't look like I have crazy things on the back of my head after a week. I also really liked that she offers complimentary bang cuts between cuts (or maybe that was just to keep me from hacking at them myself.....). In any event, I was so excited for her when I called a few weeks ago because I was going to be town and found she had her own place. It's easy to get to, and she has evening hours. Go - you won't regret it!
