This family-owned restaurant is great! The people who own this place are part of the community and help out with the local schools. My nieces knew the woman owner and her daughter. She was so nice. She gave us plates and water, changed the channel to Nickelodeon for the kiddies, and made sure we had extra condiments. She was so caring and sweet. I love independent mom-and-pop places like this.
My fiance ordered a pizza, half buffalo chicken, half bacon cheeseburger. I can't eat pizza or cheese, but he told me that the bacon cheeseburger was the best, but the buffalo chicken was not bad either. He said that it was the best pizza he's had so far in the Chicago area.
My nieces order the garlic bread. It comes out looking like a pizza. It has its own crust and a layer of cheese on top. I tried the crust and it was very soft inside, yet crispy outside. My nieces finished the whole thing. The marinara sauce that was given with the bread wasn't that awesome, but it did its job.
I would personally come back here because they have a wide selection of food and that this is a restaurant that you could actually make friends with the owners. They seem to really care about their customers. -

This is my favorite pizza, hands down.
I like the salad bar, sortof. I know I should eat more of that kind of food and if my wife is with me, I do. But really, wouldn't you rather have the cheesy garlic bread? I would and sometimes I can talk my wife into it, especially if our daughter chimes in to help me.
I like the TV's - they are always on sports and only one waiter ever gives me a hard time about being a Cubs fan. Pretty dumb move to do to the guy who is supposed to tip you.
Their pepperoni pizza is great, the cheese is also good and the vegetable pizza plus sausage is our regular order.
Check it out, you'll be glad you did.Listed in: Out to dinner with my wife, Lunch time spots

Review from Steven M.
There is a large banner in the front that says, Lunch Buffet. I was sold! So I got there a little after 12 and the place had about 14 people in it. I waited up front because the sign said, wait to be seated. It did not say that would happen today! So I walked into the restaurant and a server saw me from across the room and brought me to a table. I told him that I wanted the buffet and he said that someone would be right with me. So I go up to this 25 foot buffet counter and the first 7 feet is for salad and a bunch of stuff I had no interest in. That leaves 18 feet for the main attraction. Not really. The pies are a little larger than the personal pan pizza's at the Hut and they only had 6 varieties out with three dessert pizza's? That is a lot of elbow room your giving us. The sausage was very good as was the plain cheese. The three cheese, mushroom and bacon chicken were a pass. The last one was a dough ball because it wasn't cooked. Now if you like one of the selections you best take the whole thing. Because when finally brought out new pies, a table of 4 will clear the whole counter out. I could not imagine coming to this place if it was even half full. You would never get to eat. Now for the waitress that was obviously angry at her decision to skip college and date the football team instead. I asked for Orange Crush. She promptly started to read off the Coke products that were in her head. You have an orange spout that I can see it from where I was sitting. But she made no mention of it so I just went with a rootbeer to make her life a little easier. She did come back to give me a half refill and to slap the check on the table. But at no time did she make an effort to take one of the three empty plates that I had or to ask if I wanted more soda. You do nothing and you want a tip for it. Yes, I gave her 2 bucks on a 10 dollar check, but that is because I wanted to get out of there.
To the Management:
Buf~fet definition: (1) noun. a blow with the hand or fist;
(2) customers pay a fixed fee and can then help themselves to as much food as they wish to eat in a single meal.
Got it! Thanks for stopping, bye bye! -

I am a fan and I did give it four stars. That's in spite of some serious reservations I have about this restaurant that are just ME.
First of all, I hate high top tables, I don't even get the concept. Adults like to sit with their legs dangling so they can go to sleep? And buffets creep me out. Hello germs from sneezing and touching!
Chicago Dough has both of my pet peeves and yet still got four stars? How?
One word: pizza.
We were just here tonight for dinner and had a medium garden pizza + sausage. Great cripsy crust. Really fresh veggies. Flavorful sauce and really good sausage. But we sat in a regular table! Fine, we had the salad bar, I just had to pretend I have never seen children reaching in as the sneeze shield is superb.
When you go, try to meet Gina, the super friendly woman who runs Chicago Dough with her husband. Mention that they should replace the high top tables, thanks, prish.Listed in: Frankfort fun

Just went there for the Lunch Buffet
The place was spotless, but it is brand new
The waitress was very friendly, all she did was bring your pop, and take your empty plate
The price was fair $6.95 a person plus pop @ $2.25
The food was good but not very hot, we were there at 1:30pm
The place kinda reminded me of Pizza Hut the way it was set up.
I liked it but not enough to be a regular -

I've visited once for the pizza buffet and ordered pickup three times.
The salad and pizza buffet was mediocre. I expected it to be much better than Pizza Hut, but was disappointed when nothing impressed me. The best thing about the restaurant is how clean it is.
The first time I ordered pickup the Buffalo Chicken pizza was excellent. Good ratio of ingredients and quality was above most of the other local pizza places.
The second time wasn't nearly as satisfying. The pizza was sloppy and the cheese and toppings were falling off the crust (even after letting it cool for 10 minutes). The chicken was low quality and I didn't enjoy it. It didn't seem like the same pizza as before.
The third time we ordered the Chicken bacon ranch and the pizza was more consistent with the first experience, but had a serious flaw. There was not enough ranch sauce so the whole pizza was dry and difficult to eat without a dipping sauce.
Overall the inconsistency changed my already mediocre opinion. Better than Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Papa Johns, but that isn't saying much. -

I like it just fine. The pizza is always good and the staff is friendly. It's got a very comfortable ambiance. They always seem to have coupons available, too, so make sure to look for them before you go out.

I have eaten at the The Chicago Dough Company many times and their food is always excellent, best thin crust in the Chicago area. I ate their most recently on 5/16/10. I had their Calabrese pizza and salad bar. The pizza was cooked perfectly and their homemade pizza sauce it excellent. The salad bar has great choices and is always fresh.
