UPDATE: They are closed. Sorry folks. But Savory Chicken (a flip owned joint) near Walgreens (I think Franklin Blvd) is dee bomb...try the grilled chicken, or palabok. yummm..its get-fat-&-tired food but its YUMMMY!!! They may also have diniguan n stuff i think. Their halo halo looks so good, havent tried it yet though))

Add a half to that rating please. Well the food here is good don't get me wrong..I eat the squash w/ the green beans, the chicken with the green (i think) chili leaves, & the pork sinigang which is unhealthy in my standards(i always say that about pork) but it is probably the best unhealthy pork sinigang I ever had. My husband loves the pork BBQ, which I think may have gotten an award @ the filipino festival @ Rizal this year, am not sure. But anyway the chicken BBQ is great too, very sweet & just tastes good. The cute young dude at the counter is nice too. The mom is super super nice, i think she let me sample like 3 dishes, which is actually what made me keep coming back she was so nice.

Now the gripes...I wish they had LESS bones, & skin on the chicken & more meat. In fact the last time I was there the guy eating there said the same thing to the dude @ the counter. When I order that chicken dish that I can't remember it's name, it tastes great, but there's so much bone & skin. Hello, I'm trying to eat healthy here...& sometimes I feel like they can fill it up the containers a little more. I dunno if the guy is trying to not make a mess or just be cheap on portion sizes, but I think they should try to fill it up like the Chinese restaurants do..shoot..I'd come all the time. Also, I wish they had more fish & laing, that's my favorite!! And these days I really think all places should have a "healthy" section. What else...I think that's it. It's good try it.

RIP Chiboogan Restaurant.  Since I wrote the review below, Chibbogan closed.  This is where I go when I want Filipino but don't want to cook.  I don't like Max' or the other place at Seafood City and I was disappointed the last time I went to Manila Restaurant.  All the food served here is good, except, according to my mom, the dinuguuan.  Of course, she's a food snob, so since it's not Ilocano type dinuguuan, she's not a fan.  I like the vegetable dishes and they also have buro which is yum.  The only downside is that since they've opened, they've succumbed to serving mainly pork dishes and you can only have so much pork.  Still, I will continue to return to get me some Filipino comfort food.

been here a couple times... first time was when the first opened the restaurant, then again a week ago...

my first experience was pure disappointment.  food quality was fair but their portions is way too small compared to other filipino restaurants.  i payed $5 for a small cup of white rice and a single stick of BBQ (1-item combo).  didn't even get me close to fullfilment.  their prices were also more than i would pay compare to other pinoy restaurants.  seems like they are trying to make a killing for every customer that comes in the store.  i always drive by this place and it's always empty.  i think the food prices are driving customers away.  i don't want to tell them how to run their business, but damn, it's quite obvious.

first time I came here, i told myself i will never be back... then last week, my wife asked if we could try that place again.  i said what the heck, i'll give them another shot.  food quality was still fair... prices are still way toooooooo high for what they give you... nothing has changed.

such a shame, i know alot of people would want to enjoy their food but once again their prices are just driving people away...
