I tried this place after reading the reviews here & was very happy with the service. I had two pairs of jeans shortened and the work was done quickly and extremely well. I was pleased with the price also. I've had pants shortened at Su's Alterations on Nicollet Mall before and, while I was pleased with both the cost and the work, her hours make it impossible to get there except during the work day. So I especially like that Chi is open into the evenings and on Saturday.
As for the earlier review about them being closed unexpectedly: I agree that if a business says they'll be open at a certain time, we should expect them to be. But the flip side of this is that I will always prefer to support the smaller independent businesses and this is one of those trade-offs.
$9.50 to dry clean a work dress. UGH! The search of the perfect dry cleaners (one with great service and prices) continues!

I got a dress altered at this location for a wedding (I was the maid of honor). I was busy and went to pick up the dress a day later than the day it was supposed to be done. This has never been a problem for me at other locations.
However, when I went to pick up the dress a couple of hours before going to the airport there was a handwritten note taped to the door which announced that the cleaners was closed. There had been no previous notice of the closure when I dropped my dress off a few days ago. No one had called or bothered to let me know in any way that it was closing for the day.
I had to catch the plane so I ended up having my husband's mother overnight ship the dress to me after she picked it up the next day. I just barely got the dress in time. Chi Tailors did not offer to refund me any money or even apologize. They merely said they closed the cleaners for a high school graduation party. Very unprofessional! I will take my business elsewhere in the future.
The only place I'll go for alterations in Minneapolis. As for Mor, she's the BEST. Fairly priced, excellent service.
Awesome service, awesome work! Highly recommended!
