Decide to give them a try again since they are so close. Things have changed for the better, seafood is very fresh and prices are good. Got some great chowder there and the new guy who's there is fun to talk to about fishing in the ocean. Little place but lots of choices

They made oysters Rockefeller for me & they were BETTER than the Grand Central Oyster Bar.
Linguini & white clam sauce, delicious.

Customer service at this place blows. I called to ask about prices and the guy who picked up the phone said he didn't have time to answer questions about prices and hung the phone up, I guess this was asking too much lol. As I was going to place an order over the phone. I then went to Todd's were they were friendly and fairly priced. I purchased from them and will be going back!

Fantastic selection, very friendly service, good price. I especially appreciated the prepared dishes.. Cannot wait to try the quiche. Much better to buy fish here then at a Supermarket, this arrives fresh, and has a much better variety..

I've pass this place so many times, and I finally got a chance to stop in. Such a small but nice smelling seafood market. I did some browsing around and everything looked clean and smelled great. I purchased a couple of salmon and crab patties. I cooked them both and they were DELICIOUS. My mom who's picky about her seafood, also enjoyed them. Looks like I found another good fresh seafood market. Thank you for the kind friendly service and for answering all my seafood questions

Don't get seafood from Weis or Giant because Chestnut St is usually at a better price. Clams, lobster, oysters, crab cakes, maki, swordfish, tuna, salmon, flounder... its always fresh from the NYC piers and soooo delicious!

You have got to be kidding! $30/ lb for Lobster tail. $35./lb for King crab... They need a gun with those prices! AND THEY AREN:T FRESH THEY ARE IN THE FREEZER. You can go to Sam's Club and it is just as "fresh" (also frozen) for $21/lb and $22/lb respectively. They don't even have live lobster as an option here. Save yourself the time and order online and get live product at half the price even with shipping cost figured in.

We have been going to Chestnut Street Seafood for several years and LOVE the great seafood !!! Everything is always fresh, prices are great and service and suggestions about how to cook things are always given with a smile. Great place for Great seafood.

This is a super little seafood store that has top quality seafood at very reasonable prices. The woman that works there is always courteous but a little tough to get to know. Once you realize that and yummy her up, she is very friendly and, more importantly, she is extremely honest and knows her stuff. The soft shell crabs are as fresh as it gets and she cleans them on the spot for you while they are still moving (sounds harsh but this is exactly what you want). Prices are better than area supermarkets and quality is for superior. I totally trust the store because of the woman behind the counter - she reminds me of someone's aunt or grandma. Give them a shot and you'll be back!
