This business is located at the intersection of Cresheim Valley Road and Germantown Ave.  It was formally known as the place where you could get the cheap bouquets in the wee hours of the night.  Buckets and buckets of  flowers used to line the outside of this establishment and then one day, the windows were boarded up and there was an available for lease sign placed on the exterior.

It was a pleasant surprise last fall when the Cheapy Flower place re-opened under new ownership, but things looked grim for the new owners. I had the opportunity to talk with the owner the first week after opening and she seemed less then thrilled about how business was going. The Cheapy flower place had gone from low end half dead bouquets to more fresh flowers at more fresh flower prices and the people in the area were not quite catching on to what she was trying to sell.

But it appears that after  almost a year of being open Chestnut Hill Flower and Garden has found its nitch. Selling a combination of farmers market style produce(local grown) on the exterior as well as fresh flowers being available on the interior. The obligatory brick a brack country items are available for sale around the countertop.

For $4.04 I purchased: 4 white potatoes, 1 eggplant, 1 red pepper, and 1 red onion.

The staff is nice enough not overly friendly but not stand-offish.  I intend to be a regular customer as long as they are in business.
