Love this boutique hotel! Beautifully decorated and easy walking distance to Worth Ave and Cafe Boulud. Did I mention fresh baked cookies? Yeah, they have them. Our room included breakfast in the courtyard and everything was fresh and delicious. For those who like a drink before dinner or late night the Leopard Lounge is connected to the hotel.

I SO love this hotel.  My son ran the 1/2 marathon over the weekend and they gave us a great rate.  It is beautifully decorated for the holidays and the staff was so nice that even my 12-year old commented on the excellent customer service.  We had a nice dinner pool side.  In the morning, they had a bit of food out for the marathoners before the race.  The hotel is conventiently located--a short walk to Worth Avenue and it is just across the bridge to Clematis.

I do believe the prices in the Courtyard restaurant have increased considerably but what hasn't?  Lunch for 2 with one house wine and two house vodka Cosmos. two fish & chips, small salad, two Cappuccino $100. including tip...just seems a bit steep to me for a very simple lunch.. Didn't really look at the menu, just ordered as before...my own fault I guess. It was still good and so was the server. Doesn't mean I won't return, just need to check menu prices.

Our friends were getting married at Mar-a-Lago, and we didn't want to spend quite that much on our hotel. The Chesterfield definitely delivered!  Very pleasant welcoming staff, clean rooms, nice little pool, restaurant, etc.  It is a little walk to the beach, but otherwise centrally located. We walked everywhere. Highly recommend for those who are not looking to break the bank in PB.

If there were ever a hotel modeled after myself and style, the Chesterfield would be it. Clearly I think of myself as a 5 star person.  ;-)  I love love love this hotel!  I have traveled somewhat extensively throughout the world and I have a reputation for having high expectations and standards.  I had a special feeling about the hotel when I came across it in my search for lodging in Palm Beach, and it surpassed all expectations.

It's a totally old school establishment, and I don't imagine it's changed much since my Gram's era.

It's obvious as soon as you walk through the courtyard and into the lobby that much planning and effort was put into the decor.  It's evident everywhere, from the lovely floral arrangements to the unique trim that borders the pillows on the plush furniture in the lobby.

It's in a residential area, but it's only a few blocks away from Worth Avenue and the shops and restaurants.  And the beach!  All are walking distance away.

The swimming pool area was my favorite part of staying at the hotel.  I guess the pool is a bit on the small side for today's standards, but who cares.  It's absolutely lovely.  Beautiful geraniums are everywhere and the red & white striped awnings shielded me a bit from the sun.  I truly felt like a movie star laying out in the sun.  The only thing missing was the pool boy.  ;-)

Anyways, I think that it's an incredible value for the area, and I fell in love all over again with Florida when i was there.

I was in Palm Beach for a business trip, and this was the hotel recommended to me.  I was perfectly happy with it.  It's a historic boutique hotel in the heart of Palm Beach.

They have done a lot of renovations recently, which I think may have addressed some of the problems that Kelly M mentioned.  The decor--while a little over the top in common spaces--was tasteful and cute in the rooms.  I would say that the rooms themselves were on the small side, but it was perfectly comfortable, with a lot of closet space.  The bathrooms were also a bit small, but had nice fixtures and was pleasant for a long bath.  The hotel is part of a British chain, and you can see aspects of that in the interior design.

I only went to the Leopard Lounge late one night, after most of the characters had left.  It seemed like a really happening spot--but I think you'd have to be about 20 years older than me to really enjoy it.
The restaurant was good, although pricey.

The pool is fantastic, and was the perfect spot to lounge in the sun.  There was complimentary lemonade, water, oranges and apples by the pool, which was a really nice touch.

I really enjoyed my stay, but I to think that it is missing a few things that I would expect from a five star hotel.  There is no wireless access (they do give you an ethernet cable if you request one--and the internet is free).  The valet was complimentary, but the one guy running it seemed a little stressed out at times and took quite a while to appear at one point.  However, there were lots of nice touches--jelly beans and chocolate chip cookies in the lobby, free use of computers/printers in two separate lounges, complimentary drink vouchers for each night that I stayed, and a lovely drinks reception to celebrate the opening of their redecorated courtyard.

It was definitely a pleasant hotel and very Palm Beachy.  It's gotten to where most hotels are so modern/stark that it was a kind-of nice change.

An extension of living at home with fantastic service and amenities that were better than home! My wife and I were here for a concert at the Cruzan and we had a blast. The service here is amazing and we were upgraded because they had room for us in a suite. The pool and jacuzzi areas are secluded and private, almost as if you would never know you were in Palm Beach. The room was fantastic and we had real furniture like you would find at home, real dresser and tables as well as a nice sitting area. They use the brass keys, real keys here, so no issue with the door not working due to a magnetic card reader issue. At the Chesterfield you get the same amenities and service that you see from the Breakers, for a lot less money!

OMG. I don't even know where to begin. There truly are no words.

So here's the deal...we can't find a place to park (on a Sunday even) so we had to valet for $30 a day and then carry our bags up over the stairs and patio. So we lug our crap inside and uuhhh.... where's the check-in counter? I see the bar and faux-trendy lounge. I see drunk and loud people. Oh, wait, there it is! It's a tiny little desk in the corner with a chick on her cell phone - that must be it.

So we check in while she's still on her phone and she points us in the general direction of an elevator that is so archaic that we can't get the door open and I'm pretty sure came equipped with a hunchback bellboy. Before we could find out, someone on staff came and took our bags and told us the elevator wouldn't fit two people, let alone both of us and our bags and he'd take them to our room, and he pointed us towards a cute spiral staircase.

Yes, our bags made it to the room and we tipped our new best-bellboy-friend and set to getting situated.

At first glance the, maybe, 150 sq ft room was chic... but then we noticed that there were 2 double beds...

we were on our honeymoon. Swell.

Then we notice the desk - which was 2 sawhorses spray painted silver with a pane of glass across the top. Creative.

Then the window - one which was a view of a brick building about 2 feet away and the other was..umm..actually a curtain over a wall. Ingenious.

But my very, very favorite was the bathroom. First of all, the entire floor was just a concrete slab with no breaks in it. The sink was one of those cool trendy sinks which was fun...buuuuuut, there was no counter, the toilet was right next to the sink and the shower was literally a curtain hanging from a rod between the potty and a faucet hanging precariously from a pipe protruding from a hole in the ceiling.

We thought for a moment that all of this could be redeemed by the free vodka drinks in the bar during happy hour...but alas, they were served in Dixie Cups.

    Truly a fascinating experience.

I could not believe this hotel had only one review and a bad one at that. This is a lovely historic hotel, true old Florida style. I was there for 3 days and the service was perfect, the room comfortable. Yes, the elevator and rooms are small, but it's an old hotel! Lots of Europeans stay here-- definitely a European-style hotel.

Only downside? The restaurant is very cool to look at--great retro vibe--but food and service are mediocre. Go for a drink, but dinner's nothing special. I had oatmeal and fruit at breakfast--that was pretty good, but service too slow for a restaurant that was not very busy.

There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, however, so don't let this stop you from booking a room! Shopping, galleries, and beach are also an easy walk.   If you're looking for a true vintage Palm Beach experience, this is it.
