UPDATE 8/8 CLOSED.  BOO HOO.  Go to Ten.  Sushi is a little more expensive BUT you're less likely to leave thinking "Hmm, I wonder if I might end up with food poisoning tonight..."  Don't get me wrong, I loved CKTH, but uhm, they had a bird there & to get to the bathroom you went through their kitchen.  I loved it, but there was always that feeling of "is this place really okay?"  Not as exciting as eating from a food cart in another country, but still, exciting...  Cheng's Kitchen Tokyo House, you will be missed.

    Edamame
    Miso
    Salad
    before your meal-- included

orange slices ( no peel )
    after your meal-- included

In between we ordered 5 different rolls, an Asahi and a large hot sake.

Uhm, 5 rolls were waaaaaaaaaaay too much.    Very big rolls.. YEAY.

The bathroom is cute and tiny and you have to walk through the kitchen to get to it.  I liked that because I like to see what's happening in the kitchen.

On our walk home we strategized and decided that next time we would only order the "dollop roll"-- our name for it-- it's spicy, has some lettuce in it and I can't recall what it's actually called.  Of course it's fried.  Anyway, next time we'll get that + our drinks and be done and unless we haven't eaten all day, we'll be good.  We figure this will be about $20, since our overindulgent ordering was $42.

Very polite, excellent service.  A definite repeat.

Oh, and I voted for "private lot" because there's a paid lot like 2 doors down,

My girlfriend accidentally discovered this place, and we loved the food. I've brought friends, family and co-workers to these place. Time and time again they always ask me when we're going back. .

I have to give it up for the lunch bento specials. I recommend the chicken katsu, salmon/tuna sashimi (4 pieces total!!!) and shrimp tempura combo. Roughly around 7 dollars during lunch, this will fill you up and put you into a food coma. Which is okay, since the hospital's nearby  =).  I haven't tried anything else besides a few rainbow dragon rolls, caterpillar rolls and the like because i'm addicted to the bento boxes.  One of these days i will try something else but they're just too good to venture out to a different dish. And if you want ALL your sashimi salmon, they will oblige. How cool is that?

Great prices, fantastic food, and fast service (yup, never had to wait long) is the reason why i keep coming here. Oh and by the way, check out the vegetarian special on the wall before you start ordering ;).

We loved this place but it's unfortunately closed!  I had called to place an order for delivery and the number was disconnected.  I thought maybe they changed numbers so I strolled by and the place was gutted.  Too bad...

First of all, I am quite surprised to be the first reviewer of this excellent restaurant.  Maybe I am spilling some great Inner Sunset secret!

It is not the best sushi in SF, but it may be the best combination of quality fish, fantastic prices, AND free delivery (on $15+ orders) until 11:00PM seven days a week.  I have never eaten in the restaurant but am a frequent customer of their delivery service.

Here is why I like the place so much:  almost all the Nigiri is $3 or less.  They don't use sesame seeds in the rolls (sometimes used to mask fishy flavor).  My favorite is their yellow tail rolls...only $3.50 per and they use actual fish slices and not scraps in them.  They also make good Rainbow rolls, tempura rolls, spider rolls.....I have tried many items on their menu and have not had a bad experience yet.

    Enjoy!
