My beautiful, wondrous girlfriend brought me a container of Chela's home the other day and it took me probably two minutes to scarf down two Jalapeno and Cheese Tamales, beans, and rice. Let's just say, yeah I WAS hungry, but I mainly pigged out because I was eating really tasty Mexican food. I want more now just thinking about it.. mmmmm...
Come on gals!!
Come on fellas!!
Let's all pig out,
Down at Chela's!!!
I'm out. Word to ya Legal Guardian. -

Cheap, yes. Good, no.
HORRENDOUS service. You must beg for a napkin, let alone your food or a drink refill and then the servers sigh, mope, and drag their feet. But don't look at their dragging feet: Don't know when they last cleaned those carpets!
RIP Chela - you are sadly missed and your business is not well taken care of anymore. -

I love this place especially on Wednesday. All day, they offer $1 tacos, tamales, tostadas, and enchiladas. They also have $1.25 bottles of beer and $3 long island, which you will only need one of.

Ok so Chelas is now at it's third location (across the street in the little strip mall. It's ashame, it seems like they are just riding on Chelas reputation and saying screw the food. Guys why are you serving that crap salsa, it had the consistency of Jello and tasted like ass. $15 dollar steak fajita dinner that was super skimpy, ya know all peppers and onion. There wasn't enough of the fajitas to fill 4 tortillas. It's ashame. I was hoping to have a good Mexican restaurant close. Well thank goodness for Rancho Grande were I can get a $10 fajita dinner that will feed me 3 times.

When Chelas was at the first location, the food was excellent. Then it went down hill once Chela got sick and the place moved across the street to where Jonathans was. I have not been there since they moved to the plaza across the street. When they were still by Dairy Queen, the service did suck, the food quality went down and even the salsa tasted different than I remember. God rest Chela's soul, she was an awesome lady that did have a good restaurant. I hope that things got better since they moved the third time.

Normally I love authentic Mexican food. However, I found Chela's to be sort of ...bland. Still good but nothing special.
