this atelier has custom dog clothes for my lover mutt, probably the most extensive collection I've seen in sf.
the owner is very patient and will make sure your dog has the best fitting summer coat?! not a fan of the marina but we will make a trip for cheengoo. -

Chengoo means 'friend' in Korean and it is true, this lovely little pet boutique is great for your best friends.
As you walk in, your dog gets pet and a some little treats. Everything is clean and easy to search for - nicely displayed
++ Super cute pet supplies!! Their leashes and collars come with such cute and unique prints.
Very friendly and it was dog heaven - treats, toys, beds, supplies and food.
On the sign inside. It says they are cheaper than petco - which is a double bonus because you'll save money and your supporting a local business!
**They have teeth cleaning available at the location too. -

Love! This place has the cutest things for your pets. I especially love the duvet covers/stuffers they sell for you to make a comfy pillow for your dog. I love their selection of collars too! I have yet to buy one since I'm looking for a design with a good red in it.
Anyhow, out of all the pet stores I've come across in the city for some reason I love going to this one the most.
Also I love their adorable dog logo. It's so cute that I want to pet it! -

I'm not gonna lie. This place is adorable and the collars are precious. I love the fact that they are willing to make you a collar in a matter of only a few days if the one you want isn't in stock. I have bought two dog collars here now and have been so impressed not only with the quality of the collars, but also the ADORABLE patterns that are on them.
The owner of the store is super nice too. I think the last time I was in there, they were having a happy hour with champagne for some event. Pretty awesome if you ask me. -

im so happy to hear that Liz got a store of her own! 4-5 years ago, she was the foster mother of my kitty cat, joejoe! She was very helpful to drive me down to the shelter to get the paper work done, get joe shots, as well as give me the carrier.
She also provided me with lots of useful information on how to take care of a kitty. Joe Joe is well and a year later I got him a friend, Tiger! =]Listed in: for my homies at home

I LOVE this place. All my visits and shopping experience are enjoyable and relaxing. When I first visited the store, I thought stuff must be superb pricey (things @ union st are usually triple $ signs), but I am amazed they sells pretty decent stuff with competitive price tag. They also sells beautiful and one of the kind jewelry (for human). I bought one for my girlfriend and when I visited the store again, it's sold out already.
Liz (the owner) was very nice and welcoming. My girl bonded with her instantly. Compare to the "Specialty Bakery Store for Pet" down the block, Cheengoo is unbeatable! This store totally make up the neighborhood =) -

So our little guy Truffles will be coming at the end of this month. He's a chocolate/tan dapple with blue-gray eyes. The cutest damn dog you will ever meet in your life. Ok, maybe you won't think that, but as a proud mama, I DO! Here, check for yourself - http://www.flickr.com/...
So knowing that my puppie is the cutest, he's gotta look his best right? Right! And he's gotta have the best, most popular toys ever right? RIGHT! So when Eugy and I heard of Cheengo and what this awesome store represents, we HAD to go! We stopped by today to see what we could pick up for our little guy.
Liz was there and ready to help us pick out everything we needed and also give us some greats ideas, tips and health information. Seriously, she is just a world of knowledge and so incredible warm and inviting. Her boutique is just too cute as well! I felt like I was in her living room just chatting like old friends. Feeling that way, I completely understand why the name of the store is Cheengoo.
We picked up a very cute collar and adorable faux fur harness. And my favorite purchase of all, the Doog Walkie Belt in camo that comes fully equipped with doggie wet wipes, poopie bags, a pocket for personal goods and a dog lead clip. It's PERFECT and so stylish that I would even wear it without my doggie around!
After we finally bring Truffles home, I'm sure there with be many things we'll realize that we need and I will definitely jet on over to Cheengoo for all those needs!
PS
Liz holds a monthly party at the boutique. Make sure to stop by the store and add your name to mailing list so you can get all the info on upcoming Cheengoo events. If all works out, I'll be there with Truffles at the one at the end of February!! :) -

A doggie boutique a block away from my house? Uh oh, we're in trouble now!
Willie received one of Cheengoo's custom collars for Christmas (it's blue with airplanes and stars - perfect for my little guy!) and hasn't been able to take it off since.
Why go to one of the big box pet stores when you can go to Cheengoo which is family owned and operated? In addition, 1% of Cheengoo's gross profits are donated to local and international animal welfare organizations.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Cheengoo! We're glad you're here.Listed in: Willie's World

Cheengoo, which is Korean for friend, has their grand opening tomorrow. This is an awesome shop with their own line of adorable accessories (read: Martini collar!) and other awesome gifts for your pet or a pet-loving friend. I love the Yum bowls! I am also really impressed to see them carrying a "pet remembrance kit" a great idea if you've lost a beloved animal, or you want to try to help someone who has.
Cheengoo will be great for pet-loving tourists in the Nob Hill area (like my dog-obsessed cousin who stays at the Fairmont for business trips).
Also, two paws up for their giving 1% of their profits to local animal welfare organizations. -

Not sure when Yelp will get to making the changes, but Cheengoo has moved! It's now in the Marina, 2250 Union Street, between Fillmore and Steiner. Believe it or not, parking is actually easily here than the original location.
The new location opened today and it looks great! We picked up a few toys for the pups that are designed by Liz herself. They're so adorable. I also love her own line of spa products.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Good mid-range items for a pet boutique. Splurged on a grown-up necktie for our shiba inu who refuses to wear anything other than his harness and Old Navy shark costume. I like how the treats and goodies have their own little 'room' away from the merch. Such a gem on Union St!

Chengoo is the most stylish pet boutique in the city. I will only go here from now on since my cat has superior taste. I just bought her a wool carrot.

The gal running the store was very helpful. My friend who came with me wanted a certain style collar in a certain size. Although the didn't have it she searched for it and ended finding a larger size that could be adjusted to fit perfectly. Adorable dog outfits, collars, and leashes.

Beautiful store with a great selection of toys, apparel, food/treats, etc. The store is so well organized that it doesn't seem like there's much in the store, but there really is--it just isn't cluttered. The owner is super friendly and put together as well. I'll definitely go back at some point.

I found this store accidentally while looking for parking near chinatown.
I was first drawn into its name Cheengoo ( korean for friend) and its charming atmosphere. When i went inside my eyes were quickly drawn to neckties for dogs and stylish pet goods. ( Think Neiman marcus for your dogs and cats!) I also grabbed some treats for my dog and liz, the owner gave me some sample of pet food that my dog just fell in love with! I went back there for the second time to buy some more food and goodies for my dog and will be back this week for some other pieces that i cant help but to get. I am really happy that a store like this exists! Instead of super pet stores that has no idea what they are selling, i think Liz hand picks out every item in her store for quaiity and satisfaction! -

Olive and I love it here!! The owner is so nice, and the store is very welcoming. Lots of nice locally made items including leashes and puppy clothing. We got a nice bag for Olive's travel there, and the owner even gave us travel tips. Everytime we are in the area, we make sure to stop by and say hi!! And Olive says, "Woof woof (me likely)!!"

Love this place, even though I have a cat. The owner is as nice, knowledgeable and helpful as you could ask for -- for example, she suggested a type of treat became kitten's utter and unabashed favorite, and gave me a ton of food samples to try with him. It's a beautiful space, full of cool and useful things.
I know it's hard to imagine really looking forward to going to a pet store, but I love going here! -

From the Tiffany-blue door to the Empire State high ceilings and the fireplace, you're not in Kansas any more when you get inside Cheengoo. It's the Barney's of pet supply stores, and I'm probably going to spend more on our cat than I ever really ever intended to there. Really.
And the owner Liz is cute, which doesn't hurt. -

Cheengoo is so cute!!! What a beautiful store. I live 2 blocks up from this store and was strolling home to stumble upon it and realize it had just opened. I don't have a dog, but do have a cat. I wondered in to this gorgeous store - you can tell some with a deatiled artist eye has planned out this store it looks like something out of a magazine! I couldn't help but leave with some new cat food to try for my sensitive stomach cat (which she LOVES!) and anew cat nip toy. After going to this store I want to get a dog sooooooo bad just to be able to buy some of the unique and fun things in this store. Liz the owner is so nice and helpful and she has the cutest little dog named Abby. I can't wait to visit again and see what I can get my hands on for my kitty at home. What a fun and fabulous store!

This store makes you want to get a dog or cat if you don't already have one!
Think cute, chic, adorable, classy. It's the only pet store in the neighborhood, and so convenient as the dog park is just around the corner!
There are so many good things about this store, I'm just going to have to list them out:
1) Cheengoo branded collars/leashes are made in SF... in the store itself! Talk about supporting local and staying local!
2) Collars and leashes are super adorable. You can't go wrong with one of their collars to make your dog/cat stand out from all those other pets you see in this city
3) Pet food: they have a great line of healthy, good food/snacks for your pets. Forget about your processed dog food you get at Safeway...
4) The owner Liz is amazing! She's not only sweet, but so knowledgeable about animals and will help you with what you are looking for -

Cheengoo is a super cute place to buy your dog or cat gifts! I found a great striped collar for my cat, and will definitely go back. It's in a great spot right on the corner, and the inside is decorated so well. I think Peaches would give it 5 stars too.

This store is supercute! They have a terrific selection of dog toys (plenty of small toys for small pups, and they have the nice organic toys, too) and the collars and leashes (apparently made in-house!) are absolutely charming.

The Owner, Liz is so welcoming - please sPURRead the word and visit Cheengoo. It's even got a pet sized Fire Place, a comfy sofa fur meeting and greeting neighbors and I heard she has a Bark and Wine event on last FurEYEday of the month. My cat and I PURRobably won't attend that but sounds meowvalous!

Cheengoo Boutique is the most beautiful and thoughtful boutique I have visited in San Francisco. Entering its cozy and inviting atmosphere it is immediately evident that the owner is one who deeply cares about animals and is passionate about her work. Its elegantly appointed interiors are a treat for the eyes! As you enter the boutique on the wall right accross from the entrance are two giant photographs of the sweetest looking puppy. There is a beautiful and rich selection of pet items to choose from, very tasteful and will certainly delight the companion (Cheengoo is the Korean word for companion) you are shopping for!

I walk by Cheengoo all the time and I finally went inside today! I had the pleasure of speaking with Liz the owner, she is very nice and knows her stuff!
The place is welcoming and very cute inside. They have a great assortment of dog supplies and tons of organic products. I bought my dog a little neck tie today...it's for thanksgiving dinner :)
I highly recommend going inside...I promise you'll buy something...or at least you'll want to! -

Review from Audrey B.
Cheengoo produces the cutest doggie collars and leashes, beds and toys, and other pet stuff. I love buying the leashes for my poochie - she is very small and it's difficult to find harnesses that fit her, but Cheengoo makes them the right size and the designs are SO nice! I was really excited to hear that Cheengoo had opened a store in the city, so I stopped by to check it out. Not only do they carry all their products (and more that are not even on their website), but if you see a collar that you like they will make a leash and harness for you in that design....the store also has toys, beds, food, etc for both dogs and cats. The brand is local and all the products that they make are produced in San Francisco - it's a great local business to support. The woman who runs the brand was really nice, and the store was great. Only minor bummer: parking in that area is really difficult. But it's really easy to get there using public transportation and I'd definitely recommend visiting!

San Mateo, CA
Cheengoo is a stylish boutique that sells high-end pet clothes, accessories, toys, and food. When we first took Bambino, the most awesome chihuahua in CA, there, I expected to just window shop, but was pleasantly surprised that buying things for my tiny dog weren't going to have a giant cost. For the food brands that are carried by Cheengo, the prices are the lowest that I have found which is a good thing for me because Bino is a picky eater. Liz, the owner, is super friendly and a true animal lover. We were chatting with her about needing to socialize Bino. She recommended the Saturday morning Ocean Beach dog walks and her monthly Bark n' Wine events (dog treats for the quadrupeds, wine and cheese for the bipeds--yummy fun). Even though we have since moved to San Mateo, we still look forward to the Bark 'n Wines and stocking up on food and treats.
