Last evening, was the Mardi Gras annual dinner, the food, the people, the music was pure delight. A good times by all.

The local hand crafted wines were outstanding!

If you are looking for a intimate relaxing tasting experience this is the place. The staff is very welcoming, informative, and not pushy. Plus the wines are very tasty too!

Chatom is a really cute winery located off of Highway 4 on the way to Murphys.  The tasting room is rather small, but it is quite cozy.  They sell a nice selection of food items like bread dips and spreads.  They provide samples of many of these delectable treats.  It is always a good idea to have something in your tummy when tasting wine. ;)

The winery is female-owned by a woman named Gay; henceforth the t-shirt that reads "our owner is Gay" (or something similar, I don't recall the exact wording).  Cute!  My favorite wine from Chatom would have to be the Gitano Sangiovese, hands down.  It is so smooth and has a great flavor.  Cin cin! (cheers in Italian)

I used to work at the Redbud Inn (now the Victorian Inn) and we served wine and cheese in the evenings.  Chatom was one of the wines that we poured and all of the guests really seemed to enjoy it and said it was really good.  That's pretty good word of mouth if you ask me!  ;)

Terrific little winery!  One of my favorites wineries.

The tasting room is smallish yet bright with many cool items to check out and purchase.  Interesting & tasty food samples.  They also had some chocolate out!!

OMG - fabulous reds and chocolate - pinch me I think I just found a little piece of heaven

There are some fabulous reds.  Loved the personal touch as we tasted.
We bought a few bottles and it was not enough!

Seriously - must go back and buy a case

    YUMMMMM

OK - just signed up for the wine club!
Now I'll plan my dinner around my Chatom wines!

These girls know to have fun. I believe it is the only winery ran by women.

The wines are outstanding. Their table wine, some of the proceeds of which go to breast cancer research, is my favorite. But while you are here try all the snacks they have and do yourself a favor and pick up a jar of Chardonnay Orange Mustard (fan-freaking-tastic) to use as dressing on salads or a bar of White Chocolate Lavender with Pistachios. Heaven!

    What a great little gem!

We stopped in on our way through Murphy's. It was cute inside, nice staff and great wine. Lots of little snack samples and yummy treats.

We ended up buying a $7 jar of zinfandel orange mustard... delish!

Amazing customer service.  We were visiting from Texas and stopped in for a tasting.  We enjoyed quite a few of their wines and bought some to have shipped back to Texas.  Unfortunately one of the bottles didn't seal correctly and when I contacted the Vineyard, Wendy took care of me like I was family member.  I wish more places had customer service like this place does..

Went here last Saturday. WOW, great reds. Didn't wanna leave, but, seeing as how they didn't have any extra beds I didn't have any choice. Outside of Frogs Tooth, Chatom has the best red wines I have tasted in a long time. Joined their wine club. Oh, they also have a smokey mozzarella cheese sauce that is to die for along with some other choice morsels. Yummy

I'm not quite sure why such the great reviews for this place.  Yes, it's a beautiful place and they offer free tastings; have chocolate kisses and some crackers.  However, the wines were forgettable, some even bad.  Even the couple who we kept running into left early, so they could end the day with a good tasting.  In addition, our pourer was very rude.  She was not at all friendly and even ignored some of our questions about the wines.  Unfortunately, we left feeling terribly disappointed, with a bad taste in our mouths.

Wow, great wines, fun tasting room, and hip people.  The She Wines selection are delicious and they donate part of the sales to women's health issues such as breast cancer.  The two ladies running the place know their wine inside out and keep it fun.  One of the best of the area.

This beautiful little winery is situated on Highway 4 just before downtown Murphys. The tasting complex is newer and more updated than many of the tasting rooms on Main Street.  The wines were good but not that memorable.  They had a large selection to choose from and we probably tasted a good 12 on the day we stopped in.  Apparently their big seller is the She Wines Red of which a portion of the sale goes to women's health related charities.Admirable, but I wasn't a big fan.   I did pick up 2 bottles of their San Giovese which my hubby and I agreed was the one wine of note to pick up.

    I love this place!!
We walked into the barrel room (is that what it's called?) and there were a few tables set up with food and 3 different Chatom wines to taste.  They were promoting a 3 pack of different varietals, which we were sold on right away.  Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sangiovese.  Delish.  Then we were sent into the tasting room which was small and cozy with lots of different specialty foods on the shelves for sale.  Long story short, we ending up tasting every wine they had available and bought about 14 bottles.  We spent the entire weekend in Murphys and after counting the number of wines we tasted, we determined it to be about 150, of which we bought a total of 20.  So Chatom had most of those for sure.  Excellent wines.  This was in early December 2009.  In February my husband went back and got me some more as a surprise.  I was stoked.  Check this place out if you're in Murphys.  Good times!
