Wow! Talk about great customer service! Even though Wamu is known to give great customer service, them being bought out by Chase really didn't change a thing.
I had come here recently because I have been changing a lot of my banks and re-organizing my financial situations. I needed to take my mom's name out of my account so that I can be the sole owner of my account. I had asked before at a different Wamu but they had told me that the only way I could do that was to close out the account and make a new one. I really didn't want to close out my account because that would mean I would have to wait to get new checks, new account numbers, new debit cards and that would just be such a hassle.
So I just ended up keeping my mom's name and came across this Wamu b/c I moved to a new apartment that was really close to this bank. When I came in, someone actually approached ME and asked me if I needed any help. I had told her my previous problem and instead of shutting me down like last time, they escorted me to the manager to see if the manager can help me out. Within minutes, the manager gladly helped me out and what could have been a mess at the other bank, she had fixed it for me in 5 minutes. I was shocked because of the other bank made it sound like such a big deal when this bank fixed it so fast!
Not only that, but the manager totally helped me out with some advice about my accounts. She helped me get a great CD interest and also told me about some of their promos. Excellent customer service here!
Boycott Chase!!!!!! Chase is a horrible bank! I was a customer with WAMU for several years and loved the service until they were bought out by Chase. Their customer service is worst than the DMV. Want to pay excessive fees for savings, checking, and any other service? Then Chase is the bank you're looking for. They'll give you a .2% savings rate, but turn around with your money and loan it to someone else at 20%. Need to talk to a telephone banker? Expect to speak to some call center in India, Philippines, or some other place where people speak limited English, and the only real phrase they know is "I can not help you." I'm not putting people down their efforts to speak English as English is my second language as well, but when they don't seem to understand or are unwilling to understand what you want then I call that bad customer service! Do an internet search on "Chase sucks" and you'll find many angry customers. I'm closing all my accounts with them and going to a local credit union.
