This location (full disclosure - 2 blocks from my pad) rocks!

Hardly ever a line at the ATM's, and the machines are envelope-free now - hooray!

I use this Chase branch simply because it is close to my place.

If you are using the bank just for the ATM's, you'll be perfectly happy (unless you go during German Fest and have to wait 20 minutes due to the huge line). But if you ever have to go in and talk to a personal banker, be prepared to wait. EVERY single time I've gone in there I've had to wait at least 10 minutes, and have never even gotten my presence acknowledged while I'm sitting in the waiting area. The personal banker will finish with a customer, know you're there, but STILL sit in their little cube back there for five minutes before coming to get you. I don't mind waiting, but sometimes I'd just like a little "sorry for the wait, it will just be a few more minutes while I get organized," or something. ANYTHING. It can be a little frustrating.

Still, I'll stick around as long as Chase has the most ATM's in Chicagoland :)

Unreasonable, impersonal, incompetent, arrogant, illogical, corporate robots. I had been a First Chicago Customer for many, many years. After it became a Chase bank, I had the WORST experiences, and a couple years ago, left for Wamu. LOVED my Wamu folks. Well, with recent developments and their takeover by Chase, I am back at the bank "where the robbers are on the inside." (There was actually a sign on their door which said this for months.)

Of course, if all you do is deal with the ATM's, I'm sure its fine here. Just don't try to find a real person who is a helpful problem-solver, or who has any authority whatsoever. Cashiers at Target are more empowered than these drones.
So far, I haven't seen any of my old Wamu chums from the closed branch down, so I suspect they've all been let go. So, we'll see how it goes, and how many times I need to contact the useless District Manager with my complaints. And let's see if I have occasion to re-visit this review and change my opinion or add any stars. I highly doubt it.

The coolest Chase branch I have been to! I recently lost my wallet with all of my cards and account information. I called customer service and they said they took care of everything but I just didn't trust it. So I search for a branch open on Sunday. This location was open on Sunday! It's right near my house too! I went in and right away I was taken care of and made to feel at ease that my information and money was safe and sound. There was no hot mess or confusion on what to do like I have had before (boo Charter One). I was in and out in half an hour after closing two accounts, canceling all my cards, opening two new accounts, applying for a credit card, and making sure my direct deposit still went through. Amazing! I'm glad to be banking with Chase and I am more than satisfied with the service at this branch. The people are awesome and very helpful. Thanks Gideon & Hans!

Do not bank with Chase. They are a terrible company that treats their customers poorly in order to make a profit.

I've had checking accounts with Chase and several of the banks they've taken over (NBD, First Chicago, Bank One) for more than a decade. I've never had any problems until Chase took over.

A few months ago, Chase erroneously held a check I deposited for over a month, preventing me from paying my bills (including my Chase credit card, which subsequently increased its APR to nearly 27% and charged me a $39 late fee). They also deducted more than $200 in erroneous fees from my checking account and then closed my account after I complained in person to the unfriendly and unprofessional branch manager. I even brought him a faxed copy of the canceled check from the issuing bank and ample documentation, yet he would do nothing to help me and even suggested that "if I am not satisfied, maybe I should consider banking elsewhere."

This was after a series of unsuccessful calls to customer service and hours wasted on the phone.

I'm taking this matter to the State of Illinois' Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and hopefully I'll get my money back.
