13 reviews for Chart House
This place was amazing for Valentine's Day; the food was sooo good and there were a lot of courses so we ended up very full after tasting many different things. The view was also perfect for a romantic evening.
As is common on V-day, there was a special package for the night, which was actually a great deal for what we were eating and the portions. But I mentioned that the website I used to make the reservation said it was just the regular menu, so the manager came over, apologized, gave us free drinks and offered to let us order off the regular menu. That and the rest of the service were great.
Great location with wonderfull view of the marina.
Food is good but used to be a lot better.
Average price of a meal of an adult is $40.00
I have been here a couple of times already, most recently last week with my husband for one of our date nights. The Chart House really does not disappoint. The main reason we continue to return is the service and quality of the food.
Your first impression of this place while driving up to it won't be the best. If I had to change one thing about the Chart House it would be that it's time for an update in decor. It's not horrible, but it's starting to look look a bit dark and dated inside. It also does not help that you have to drive through a marina to get to it, this also makes it lose kind of it's luster. It's view of the bay however really makes up for this. You also have the option of eating on their outside patio. Once you get over the entrance and decor, you realize that it's overall feel is comfy and unpretentious.
There was a full salad bar available however, we decided to start off with the seared Ahi tuna appetizer that was excellent. For our main course we ordered the Chart House Mixed Grill which included a piece of grilled Salmon, premium jumbo lump crab cake and huge shrimp served with coconut ginger rice and grilled veggies. Definitely out of this world delicious.
We ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert which honestly, is the best part of the meal. It's a chocolate molten lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, covered with decadent Godiva chocolate sauce and sprinkled with toffee pieces. Need I say anything else? YUM!
Will we return? You betcha! The meals can be pricey however it's not ridiculously expensive when compared to similar seafood restaurants with horrible service and sub par quality seafood.
This place is beautiful! I am all about places on the water and being served basically on hand and foot. The service was amazing! The view even better and the food was FABULOUS!!
My ex took me here for my birthday dinner and we got all dressed up. I noticed there was a big party and then a few small tables like ours. This place seems like it would be great for a wedding rehearsal dinner or Engagement party or so on.
When I looked around at the dining hall I saw that there was a theme going on with the smaller coupled tables. I noticed all the two tops were couples and the guys all had gifts. My bf had a bag from Movado, the couple next to us had a Gucci shopping bag, the other couple had a HUGE Coach shopping bag, etc. Every woman that was eating there with their significant other was getting something very valuable.
So Gentlemen, if you plan on bringing a date here I would wait until:
1) Its a birthday, holiday, or anniversary so you can accompany the dinner with a present
or
2) You screwed up so badly that you have to do something so EXTRAVAGANT to make up for fucking up.
Because if you don't have a gift for your girl when you bring her here she will be very jealous and even though you dropped $200 or more on dinner for two people it won't matter.
Sorry girls are shallow.
If you are looking for a place to take your entire extended family out for a Spring celebration (think: Mother's Day, Easter, Graduation) this is THE place to go. The menu is varied and will please anyone from the pickiest of grandfathers to the young, Lycheetini-sipping grandkids. The ambiance will speak to the parents- no nonsense, frou frouness, and offers amazing water front views.
The best part of the fresh, varied salad bar (note: its $17) is the CAVIAR hiding in the corner. I had a warm spinach salad, which was delicious. We ordered the signature desert- Chocolate lava cake, which you should order ahead of time, since it takes 30 minutes to make. A perfect ending to a wonderful family dinner.
The only word that comes to mind is.... slop.
But, one thing I was not disappointed by - The Slophouse LIKE EVERY RESTAURANT IN MIAMI never manages to put the food down in front of the person who ordered it correctly. I know, I know, my expectations are too high.
Ordered seafood. Don't remember what kind. It was covered in some sort of goop with shrimp. I don't know. I'm sorry, I know I'm supposed to feel something here, like it's a special occasion and aren't we all grateful to be alive, but it's just so depressing.
Okay, wait, I do enjoy the universal "wet carpet" smell you get no matter what Chart House you walk into. That's a compliment, right?
I usually only come here for business dinners or wedding related meals you know rehearsal dinner or something along those lines.
So I'm usually part of a big to huge party from 10-50 (maybe more, tough to say with so many smiling girls in similar looking flowered dresses everywhere oh wait I'm one of those girls) and the service is always fantastic even though there are a million things happening and people changing orders and taking pictures.
The food never disappoints. And usually there is something on the menu for everyone. I especially love their chocolate lava cake dessert.
And the setting or rather should I say and the view, gorgeous, as the Chart House sits directly on the bay. I've taken many a picture outside with the bay as a backdrop... not too shabby.
Let start out with the obvious.. its a seafood place, but has things for the non seafood lover like me, but is very limited. I only eat very very limited amounts of water-animals so the few i eat is done perfectly...I always opt for the non fish entree and then pick off of my moms plate and what she has is good (which is probably amazing for a seafood eater). I can't complain, and its always a great experience when i go. and if you are a drinker and like sweet drinks try the clear chocolate martini... tis delish!!
Oh and always save room for dessert... the chocolate lava cake, which takes 30 mins to make so remember to order ahead....
Love, love, love this place. The seafood is so fresh and the view is fantastic. It's great for taking a group and getting a sampler of the appetizers. Also make sure you order the chocolate souffle before you order your meal because it takes them 30 minutes to prepare it...and it is SO worth it.
Went to the Chart House on a week night and it was quiet. Beautiful view of the bay from our table. The waitress was very attentive, clearing plates, bringing fresh silverware and making sure we were well taken care of. We had the salad bar to start with and it was well stocked with caviar, fresh fruit, mushrooms, artichokes, caesar salad. For entrees, we had the grilled salmon and chicken marsala. The salmon was nice, simply seasoned and perfectly grilled to my liking. It came with ginger rice and fresh green beans. The chicken marsala was delish and came with tasty mashed potatoes. We finished off the evening perfectly by sharing a decadent dark chocolate lava cake.
A truly mediocre restaurant. The high point is sitting outside and looking at the bay. For the price and the location, you can do 1000 times better in the Grove. Their spinach salad is excellent and redeems middling seafood entrees. This place is very yummy phase.
WOW !!!
This place has it all - Great Service, Great Location, Great Views, Great Ambiance, Great Food -
The salad bar is awsome - you might even find caviar on a good day -
We came here recently for a business meeting, made reservations thru the hotel concierge- we arrived a bit early and sat at the bar - ordered a round of drinks and waited ... after about 5 minutes and no sign of the bar waitress we were informed that our table was ready -
While seating at the table we casually mentioned to the waiter that we were a bit bewildered by the fact that we never received our drinks.... he appologized and promptly took a new drink order.
Not two minutes later, the Manager was at our table offering a complimentary round of drinks and letting us know that we need to "save some space" because dessert was on the house.
The Menu was pre printed with our Party's name on it - talk about details and class.
Several rounds of drinks later and after an outstanding meal, we were treated to 3 breathtaking desserts, chocolate cake, key lime pie and tart - again WOW !!!
This place is a must visit, many times over.
I've been to the Chart House in Monterey, CA and didn't realize the chain extended all the way to Florida. This location is right on the water and provides a nice serene view during dinner. You can't go wrong with any of the fish here and the salad bar is really good. The crab stuffed mushrooms are also a great way to start your meal. Dinner is a bit pricey, but not outrageously so. The interior seems a little dated to me, but that is not a sticking point.
