My family has been going to this beauty place for over 8 years now. Even my dad has had a facial or two here, although he would have never admitted it if you had asked him.
I love the service that I get from this place. The owner Yvonne is friendly and all her staff are skilled beauticians. Membership means paying for a set of 10 facials and the facials run about $65-$80/facial and you get 1 free thrown in (maybe you have to mention a referral from a friend...not sure). Yvonne is supercool about letting you pay in installments without any extra fee. The facial lasts about 2 hours and includes facial massages, brow trimming, shoulder + upper back and arms massage, and of course the painful part of white/blackhead extraction. I personally prefer Lillian or Jenny who seemed to be in tune with how I like my massages/facials. And you can always get an appointment pretty easily since they are generally very accommodating.
It's a no-frills place and you can easily miss it as it's smack in the middle of Garvey Ave along a block of restaurants and hair salons. They also offer waxing and other services (some weight loss machine thingy). I don't think you can get a deal better than this!
Word of warning: This is a limited english-speaking facility so just make sure you can get by with your cantonese or mandarin. If not, then make sure you request Jenny as she would be best able to communicate with you effectively.
I have been going to Charming Beauty for facials for many years. I moved to the bay area in 2003, and I still stopped by whenever I visit LA. My esthetician, Lillian, is great. She gives wonderful neck and shoulder massage.
The owner, Yvonne, is very friendly. She offered me a free hand treatment after they messed up with my appointment time once.
Only four stars? Yes, this place is getting old and I think they need to remodel. Even though I like my old treatment, I don't mind having more new treatment packages to choose and try.
