3575 South Douglas RoadThis run-down cemetery is unique. Perhaps, it being run-down gives it quite the character it needs. But part of its uniqueness is that Coconut Grove's origins can be traced to this cemetary, through the people that were buried here.
This cemetery, first used in 1906 at this location, is the original cemetery for Coconut Grove's significant Bahamian heritage. It is creepy too, as there are just so many above-ground tombs It is definitely not hard to imagine zombies roaming in the night in this graveyard! While, thankfully, this doesn't happen, it has such a rare sense of aura that goes with it being a cemetery that feels long forgotten, isolated, and abandoned.
Quite a character. Even for the Grove.
