This is quite possibly the worst BBQ I have ever had in my entire life.  Period.

One of my friends suggested this place today for lunch and it's close to work and we were craving BBQ and it sounded like a fantastic idea.  As soon as we parked and got out of the car, I was excited to eat because the smell was just amazing!  (btw, I gave them half a star for the smell).

I ordered Charlie's plate which was 2 meats and 2 sides with a roll.

The smoked sausage (spicy) was decent (there is another half star), but the smoked brisket had zero flavor; I couldn't even tell it had been smoked.  If there hadn't been what tasted like out of a can BBQ sauce, I think chewing cardboard would have had more flavor.

Now let's talk about sides.  When I make mashed potatoes, I tend to use milk and butter.  i am pretty sure Charlie's uses water and pepper.  Never before have I seen mashed potatoes that I could probably have eaten through a straw.  Next I tried the macaroni and cheese.  I don't even know what to say about this other than I have never before had cheese that didn't taste; I am actually a little amazed that this is possible.  Could be a good science experiment for some enterprising junior high student.

The roll?  I have consumed fresher tasting rolls as they are being thrown out of the day old bakery.

I drank what I think was iced tea, but could just as easily have been dirty water.

To be fair, my dining companion said her chicken was ok, which is more than I could say for anything I ate.

My recommendation?  Houston is full of better BBQ places, pass this one up.
