1 review for Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site
This is as good as it gets for a weekend family getaway. Step back in time at the Charles Towne Landing, the birth place of America and South Carolina. Only minutes from downtown Charleston the park welcomes you to 80 acres of beautiful gardens, moss covered oak trees, marshes, ponds and even a Zoo.
Main attraction is the 1.5 miles long self-guided Historic Trail. In addition you can bike, jog, walk with the stroller or the dog and or relax on the many benches in the park. Just watch out for the alligators sunbathing along the ponds!
