I bought a pair of Outlier shorts here, and I wear these more than any other item of clothing in my wardrobe. They are one of the very few retailers that carry this brand. This alone makes me want to come here.
As-far-as the biking gear, I bought two sets of pedals and baskets from them so I could try each out. Hi quality components and pricing that is decent (still slightly above average). Honestly, I come here for the top notch gear, and to drool over the badass frames hanging from the wall.
I give this place 5 stars because they carry some good stuff. When I was in Asia, I heard about some great Japanese biking gear (but wasn't able to track down) and I didn't know where to get it here in the US. Well, Chari's & Co carries it! Rin Project and narifuri will never be too difficult to get my hands on! But honestly, I came here because I wanted some biking gloves (I have sensitive palms!) and they carried what I wanted. Their selection isn't very extensive but they're all good stuff. And if I knew more about biking, then I would definitely come back and stock up. But until then, go online, see their inventory and swing by for some gear. You won't regret it!
A sick-ass bike shop! Lot's of great products, reasonably priced for your track bike. Great customer service, quick response!

If you're looking for NJS bling, this is the place to head to.
Lots of imported Japanese and Italian frames, components, and parts. They also carry lots of bags, and clothing.
Well worth the trip if you have cash in hand and are looking for something unique that no one else will have. Or, if you are broke, you can just do what I did and stare at all the pretty, shiny frames!
Who gets married on a Tuesday at 5 in the afternoon? People in Chinatown, that's who. I had never seen as many blushing brides on East Broadway as I saw this Tuesday afternoon. As a result there was no safe place to park my bicycle, with all the massive limos and huge bridal parties blocking off huge portions of the sidewalk. I eventually noticed a pole that I could lock my bike to only to realize that there was already a bike there and not really enough room for both. Lucky for me the owner of said bike was nearby and ready to leave. We exchanged biker pleasantries and kept it moving, but just as he pulled off he handed me a card for his newly opened bike shop in the LES.
A few days later I made my way down to Chari's & Co and was pleasantly surprised to find a gem of a Japanese track bike store tucked away in the heart of the LES. Chari's & Co has a great selection of vintage Italian, American and Japanese vintage track biks along with the usual and some rather unusual extras. Support the small bike shop owner, by making your way down to Chari's & Co, make your carbon foot print a little bit smaller by riding a bike and lastly, but in my opinion just as important, avoid Chinatown on a Tuesday afternoon.
